We love Southwest. I always remember the day my sister and brother-in-law got a call to say one of their grandchildren had been hurt real bad. They called Southwest and Southwest told them they would be on the next plane, How soon could they get to the airport.. When they got to the airport they were assisted to the gate and on the next plane. That is customer service.

I LOVE Southwest!!! I live within 15 minutes of a small 'international' airport that serves commercial airlines, however, the closest airport that Southwest flies in/out of is a 7 hour round-trip drive for me...and I do it GLADLY!!! Love the free checked bag(s); the STAFF is amazing! flight schedules and fares can't be beat! Comfortable seats; haven't yet experienced a delay (and I've flown many times with SWA!); just an all-around GREAT experience! Looking forward to my next flight! Thank you!!!

I have always had easy travel with SW even when traveling with my Mother who is 90 yrs old. We have be treated with courtesy and kindness. Everyone from check-in to the individuals who assisted my Mom. I traveled with my family as well and have never had any unwanted problem. My hats off for making an effort to take care of the customer. I love Rapids Rewards, have been able to have several free flights over the years. To me Southwest is my go Airlines .

I usually attempt to fly Southwest because I am a Rapid Rewards member and baggage is free, (understand it's probably in the cost of the ticket), however being asked for additional money in my face makes me happier about it. Last month they had some great specials on-line and when I attempted to buy the ticket it would not let me. I called Customer Service and the person was great (the wait time's are horrible so deducting a point), but they honored the on-line price, although customer service representative indicated that the sale was over, and that's why I could not buy ticket from web site, but since I could still see the price they had no problem honoring the advertisement. Great Service on the telephone and on the flights.

I flew from Charleston to Chicago and back--and it was great. It was the cheapest flight I could get; I didn't have to pay $25 to take a suitcase; and I didn't have to add an extra $10 to purchase pretzels. (That happened recently on a flight on another airline to San Francisco. It's a long flight without a few pretzels.) I like checking in the day before the flight, because both ways boarding was both smooth and quick, and early check in meant that I was able to choose window seats on both flights. If I can travel by Southwest, I definitely will.

the first time I flew with Southwest was when someone booked a flight for me & my mom & sister to fly from Newark NJ to Orlando Fl when my brother was dying, the seats were comfy, roomy, the staff on board were wonderful, the dinner was great and a movie, all of these things I never expected, what a great surprise.l the flight was smooth and very enjoyable, and I thank the wonderful donor for the tickets, because we would not have seen my brother before he died otherwise.

I am and have always been afraid to fly, have flown all my life as my father was in the service and we flew all over the place, to and from Europe to Central America and across the USA. As an adult any time that I have had to fly and given a choice it has been Southwest Airlines. They are great and the best! Even though still have a little apprehension when I have to fly , I will always chose Southwest for the confidence that they in still in me and safe feeling that they give me! Not to mention that their pricing is AWESOME!!!

In late July of this year my flight was canceled. Reason? There were problems with the airplane. Southwest Airlines did all they could to make everyone comfortable and updated us often on if the plane could be repaired for a safe trip. Everyone was put up in a nice Hotel for the night and the flight went as smooth as can be the following day. We were all given a flight for another trip. I would rather be a day late on my trip than not make it at all because the Airlines took a chance on "just going" with any type of problem. I always fly Alaska Airlines.

I too Southwest when I went to Ohio in May,2015. It was one of the nicest flights I have had in a while. The Stewardess and the Steward were so nice! It was only the second time I had flown with Southwest, but from now on I will take them when I can. It really impressed me the way the seemed to care about their passengers and made sure all were comfortable Thank you!

My husband and I flew Spirit airlines down to Florida for a cruise. Worst expierence I've ever had with an airline. I was so upset I tore up my free tix back home and flew Southwest, my favorite airline. Not only were they able to accomidate us, but at the last minute we requested an earlier flight and they complied...with no up-charge!! I love you Southwest: Thank you so much for rescuing us from Spirit!! :)

I was taking my son to his freshman year in college at The Virginia Military Institute from Houston on a 6 a.m. flight. We had been up since 3 a.m. We got bags checked and boarding passes but his said he needed to check in at gate to confirm seating or something, mine did not. But we did not even look at it after baggage check and no one pointed it out to us about his seat at baggage check. I had confirmed our reservation online the day before. So when time came to board, he was stopped and said he could not go with me on that flight unless someone volunteered on board to give up their seat. No one did...which meant I would get to Va. on time but he would have to arrive in Va. separately at 5 p.m. We would still have to drive 11/2 hrs to the college and we would miss the parent's reception. We were very upset and I was not going to fly without him. No matter who's fault it was, it was very upsetting. Turned out that an employee in charge of the seating and plane boarding etc. (so mad I did not write his name down), understood since he had just sent off his own college kids...and he would have been more upset he said. So he was kind enough to compensate us more than we expected (did not expect any compensation) in a check and he bought our lunch when we had to layover in Atlanta for 4 hours!! Still missed the reception but it made it so much easier to calm down...we realized the check would cover his college textbooks...and we had been struggling with that...Thank you Southwest!!!

Been flying SW for over 15 years and have never had a single complaint. Whether is is a commuter flight here in California or a trip to Texas or Michigan, it has always been my airline of choice. The rewards program via my SW Visa has gotten us several free flights, either for us or for my daughter who flies out from NC every year. I am sorry it's not quite as easy to get those free flights these days, but that does not detract from the absolutely excellent customer service and convenience of this wonderful airline. Keep up the good work!

I don't know about to many other airlines because as far as I am concerned SW has it all. Many times problems might have arose but the employees of SW have helped me through it all. One time we were late getting to our plane my grandson was traveling alone so we missed it and they arranged for another flight with people to help him through the flight. During the wait my grandson drew a picture of a SW airplane for the lady that helped him. I Love SW airlines I travel with them all the time now.

I love Southwest Airlines. I have been flying between Tampa and Atlanta and Tampa and Birmingham for many years. They are on time, professional and at times. very entertaining. My last flight was supposed to leave at 735 pm. We were 40 minutes late taking off but got back to Tampa only 10 minutes late. A great make up of time. Don't want to fly any other airline.

Flying any airline has become a CHORE to me. A wasted day, but the fastest way to our destination. We have flown SW Airlines almost exclusively for their low fares, convenient destinations, and their "bags fly free" checked luggage policy. I would like to suggest they charge for all the overhead bin storage! So many travelers try to cram so much over sized baggage into those overhead bins...it slows down the departures and arrivals with those who cram struggling to store and retrieve their baggage. The storage under the seat in front of you...seems to be the easiest way to go...for free! Most people would probably elect to check all those bulky bags... We usually fly 2 to 3 times a year and we usually choose to fly SW Airlines.

Having to live far from family all my married life has been difficult. But, thanks to you, Southwest, and your affordable prices, I've been able to fly to Baltimore to spend time with my children and grandchildren; as well being able to fly to Kansas City to help care for my elderly parents, and even be there to hold their hands as they took their last breathe. Without you those cherished moments would not have been possible. Again, I want to thank you!

I fly quite a few times per month on business and can honestly state that I have never had a bad experience with Southwest or their employees. Having said that I have experienced delays just like with every airline but it seems to me that Southwest employees do their very best and more so than other carriers to keep passengers informed with the most up to date information which makes delays more palatable.

In April, I had to fly to Tampa from New Orleans for an unplanned trip. I paid the little extra for priority boarding so that I could sit close to the front of the plane to make a quick get away. I was very surprised to be greeted by the gate agent by name!! It was a stressful trip and that seeming little thing made me feel a bit better about it.

I first discovered Southwest in 2006, when we had to get home from our vacation suddenly because of a family emergency. I couldn't find a flight but a friend told me that Southwest isn't on the travel sites search engines. So I went to their site and found a direct flight that afternoon, which I booked. They were WONDERFUL to us, especially since I was very upset. I have flown them ever since! They keep their fares low and have NEVER charged for the first bag of luggage! Plus they err on the side of safety where the weather is concerned! Keep up the good work Southwest!

I have been flying Southwest since it first came to Albany NY airport. Living in Florida it's the easiest way to go back and visit my family and friends. I have never had a bad experience. Last year when my flight was cancelled I was put on the next morning's flight with a voucher in hand. When my luggage was waylaid due to the chance in flight it arrived at my home within a few hours. The pilots are great and always friendly. Both on the ground and in the air the staff makes you feel like you are a VIP. I wish it would fly to Melbourne Florida to Albany then all would be perfect.

Love when I get an attendant who does some jokeing around before take-off.-Most of the time ,unless it's weather related-the flights are on time and the last few times, early arrivals.

I have flown with Southwest many times over the past maybe 10 years. I have never had a problem with anything on my flights and the cost is very reasonable. They are always professional and friendly, and sometimes even making us laugh. And with a bit of research, we have learned how to use their seating system to our advantage. I have only used this airline to fly since our first flight.

The last few years we have been dealing with severe illnesses in our family, all out of state for us. Flew home from Tampa yesterday. I will never fly another airline, Southwest is the BEST! My husband is handicapped and a Skycap named Mohammed, took us from entrance to gate, past the security check and to the gate. Southwest has always handled the handicapped the best. We are frequent flyers, out of Kansas City. You really need to train your people better in MCI. We never get that kind of treatment when we arrive at the airport. I had to go in and get the wheelchair and push him myself. Coming home is always better.

Love southwest, no ridiculous fees for bags going to the same place the plane is, never or very rarely a delay. From what I've experienced the delays that have occurred have never been of fault by the airline. The staff is always friendly and very polite. Never had lost luggage with southwest. Recently flew a different airline not by choice, but because Southwest didn't fly there, and it was the most awful, rudest, experience I have had in a long time. So I told my wife from this point on, if Southwest didn't go we weren't going to that destination.

When S/W first came to Phila, they had quite a few direct flights to most cities in Florida. Once they bought out AIRTRAN, those flights don't exist any longer. Example they have about 7 or 8 flights to Tampa daily, but only one of those flights is direct, the others either go through Atlanta or Chicago or Nashville making a 2 1/2 hour flight now at least a 4, 5 and in some cases a 6 hour flight. Not very smart when USAIR offers at least 4 or 5 direct flights to Tampa. (and believe it or not USAIR is cheaper on the flight itself. Hopefully Southwest will go back to offering more direct flights from Phila to Florida instead of these long connecting flights.

It was a nice flight and for the cheaper fare, I was very pleased with them. They were very courteous and I'm going to fly with them again in September. We travel on Southwest as often as we can, which is only about twice a year. I love flying with them! Their attendants are the BEST!!! Love the way they board the plane, too! Not having to debate whether or not to start the line....sooo much better this way. Love that they still give you drinks and snacks and you don't have to pay for your first or second checked bags or your carry on, like some other airline. Keep doing what you've been doing!!!

As a frequent flier, Southwest is my airline of choice. Yes it's different from other airlines but in a good way. The main thing I like is that everyone really seems to care about the customer and genuinely likes working there. Considering that I fly for business with equipment the 2 free checked bags policy is a huge advantage. This article seems to knock them for using Boeing vs Airbus equipment when in reality when flying to the same airports others serve a lot of times the alternative is regional jets with considerably less leg room and minimal overhead space (plus baggage fees).

I think Southwest is by far the best airline out there. You guys care about your customers. Your staff go above and beyond. I prefer to fly Southwest anyday. I have been on other airlines and there is no comparison. I think it is so awesome that you do not charge for a first bag. How are you suppose to go anywhere without luggage and the ticket prices on other airlines are so high and then they charge you to take your clothes with you. That is just ridiculous. On my most recent trip from San Diego To Austin, the gate attendant found that someone had used whiteout and covered the last numeral of the date on the Doctor's statement pertaining to my portable oxygen equipment. She informed me that I could only take the equipment as carry-on luggage, and couldn't use it during the flight. I informed the stewardess of this, and she looked at the doctor's statement. At the top of the request it stated that this statement NEVER EXPIRES. The stewardess took the statement to the Captain of the aircraft, and he said if I needed to use oxygen, I should indeed use the equipment, and the stewardess wrote the captains instructions on the statement, and also signed her name and contact information if anyone questioned me during my return flight. Had the gate attendant looked more closely, she would have realized that the statement could never expire, regardless of the date not being complete. A (0) rating for the gate attendant, and a(10) rating for the stewardess and captain.

I love Southwest! Bags Fly Free is awesome! They have yet to cancel a flight, where others do so all of the time. Southwest flies the big planes, so I can count on placing a legal sized roller bag full of fragile camera equipment in the overhead bin. I quit flying the airport in Lexington, KY, because their small planes do not have room to put even the smallest roller bag in the overhead bin. And Southwest does not serve that airport!

I started flying with Southwest when they came to my airport. I won't compare them to others I have flown because, quite frankly, there is no comparison. Not only the free luggage but the way they load and seat people is genius. So efficient. And the crew? They are all friendly, beyond helpful, and,in many cases, pretty talented when it comes to their announcements. It is a flying treat!

Southwest has always been straightforward in their practices. What you see is what you get, but the thing I like the most is that the employees actually like working there and they act as if they like working there. As a business traveler, plans sometimes change and it is nice not to have to take a $150 or more hit to change your flight. I saw a few people complaining about no meals. Did they really want Airplane food? Grab something in the terminal that will keep like a nice sandwich and you're all set. People bring food on planes all the time. I like Southwest so much I scrapped another credit card and got theirs to earn even more points.

About 8 years ago, Southwest was my very first flight. I was absolutely petrified! I am afraid of heights and well, falling from the sky is a huge fear of mine. Well, they made me feel very safe. The flight was smooth and I had 4 that one weekend due to changing planes half way each way. By the time we were done and back home, I really wanted to do it again. The attendants were extremely nice and attentive. They are just the best. Thank you so much for the best experience I could have had! If I ever fly again, it will be with you!

I've flown with Southwest for over 30 years and generally I like them better than any other airline. Sadly I see a trend toward Southwest losing that friendly feel and becoming a "Big Company" airline. I used to love the fact that their employees would make funny cracks and such (my favorite was a flight attendant quietly saying "I think I can I think can I think I can" during take off and ending with "Whew! I knew I could!" as we lifted off), but hardly any do it now - it's the exception. I miss that because I always felt like their employees enjoyed where they worked. Now it's pretty much the same dull, dry from all of them. No humor. No fun. Few smiles. It's a job to them. This is sad because it was what set Southwest apart from the others. Still, pricing, free bags and the rewards system are great.

I have not used the airlines in a couple of years but I have for the most part of flying always taken Southwest. I just flew Southwest last week from Las Vegas to Austin, Texas. Great trip both ways very nice the flights were full both ways but yet everyone got seated and had a place for their carry on items and we were all served our beverage and snack and both flights were on time. There was a little delay leaving Las Vegas but they got the issue taken care of and made up the time in the air. Staff was all very nice and glad to assist everyone. Best airline out there. The staff is amazing and courteous. The prices are very reasonable. Customer service is great. The flight attendants were also amazing. I got violently airsick on a very turbulent connecting flight to Baltimore on my way to see my brother in San Antonio and the attendant went above and her duty by getting me a garbage bag to use rather than the small airsick bags. When we landed she allowed me off the plane first and made sure my luggage was brought to me. Shame you no longer fly into Cleveland and dont fly into Akron-Canton. Would only use you if you did.

At one time I was platinum on Continental and American at the same time but still preferred to fly Southwest. The boarding process may seem strange at first, but it is very organized, it goes quickly, and people in zones 4 and 3 aren't wandering around aimlessly blocking people from zones 1 and 2 from boarding. There are no zones. The order in which you board is determined by the order in which you print your boarding pass, and you can do that 24 hours before departure. The flight attendants don't act like their job gets in the way of other things they'd rather be doing. The only reason I didn't score them 10 is they aren't quite as low priced as they used to be. That seems to have changed after the AirTran acquisition.

I love Southwest and fly them several times a year. The only bad experience I've had is having wet clothes after an extended delay in Tampa because of lightning recently. My bag was apparently left in the rain and all my clothes were soaking wet. As much as I fly, that was a one time issue but was glad I was going home instead of getting to a hotel with everything wet. I love the free bags and boarding experience. Love that you can frequently get non stop flights. Will continue to fly Southwest as often as possible. Nancy McDaniel
