LuckyVitamin began three generations ago with a family interested in helping others live healthier. Starting with a pharmacy in 1956, the Wolf family became frustrated with western medicine and wanted to do more with natural wellness and alternative medicine. They opened a health and nutrition store in 1996, offering a wider variety of services and products for health. Although the site is extremely detailed and thorough on its information, this can make it a little hard to navigate. There are multiple pages a user must go through before getting to a page with actual products on it. It also has 24 categories of products which, while some may find helpful, others may find it is too many and makes browsing difficult. 

Flaws in the Rewards Program

While it is good that this company even has a rewards program, its program is not competitive in the industry. Because you only earn, generally, one point for every dollar spent, a customer must spend approximately $500 dollars to receive $5 in credit and the consumer must wait 45 days after they've earned the points to use the credit. The rewards program also does not discuss any other options for credits besides the 500 points for $5.

The Bottom Line

LuckyVitamin has helped thousands of consumers enjoy life more fully with its extensive list of products. However, it does not have the most "rewarding" rewards program, and its site is a bit more difficult to navigate than other sites. It does provide services that make it one of the best vitamin stores we have reviewed. Its auto-ship feature is very useful for returning clients, the site provides a lot of helpful, detailed information about a large number of vitamins, minerals, and herbs.

The company's place an order for $99+ Canadian and get free shipping encouraged me to try Lucky Vitamin again. I had been using another American company with very low cost shipping to Canada. Lucky Vitamin's prices and selection are competitive. I only wish they offered more site wide promotional discounts for older customers, ie. in time not necessarily age. I would surely order more items for both myself and my wife if they did. Likely that would be larger orders in anticipation of future needs. (Note: It perturbs me when companies basically offer promos mostly for new customers, and older customers are treated as got ya. However, in today's market that doesn't apply, and regular, returning customers are much more in demand -- keeping them from searching elsewhere, which is what happened to me. Just so happens that I found out about the new shipping to Canada offer by happenstance. ) Another note: Item specific discounts are often not enticing, for more often than not, we have no or not enough interest in the specific items to place a large enough order to warrant a shipping deal.

4 stars because it's early. Day 3 of the liquid for allergies. I was hopeful but wasn't holding my breath that this would help. Molly is a poodle mix with raging allergies. Almost hairless, constant scratching and very red irritated and hardening skin. Only a steroid shot every 4 months and expensive shampoos help along with oral antibiotics. I'm still watching to see how much this helps but due to a family crisis I haven't been able to get her to a vet for a shot so she was in major allergy outbreak when this arrived. I put it on some meat in a dish instead of the water that is shared with other dogs. This is the 3rd day. All of her tomato red skin has gone to a light pink. The hot spots have healed almost completely already and she is scratching SO much less. She had taken to being depressed and not even wanting to go out to walk or potty but now she is back, wagging and ready to go out. It has definitely helpede delay a vet visit and I,now actually habe real hope that this will help us! Can't express how thankful I really am!

As a rule Lucky has been my 'go to' for the things I need and use; however, both iHerb & Amazon have been matching Lucky's prices, with a lower (iHerb: $20.00), or no (Amazon $.0 for Prime members) minimum for free shipping. The last order I placed was delayed for such a long time, though the 1 item which shipped immediately, ironically was the one I had ordered from iHerb. I messaged Joseph as I was getting ready to cancel the rest of the order and he responded immediately to let me know it would ship that day. Joseph, has been delightful to speak with, very helpful & knowledgeable, but I am uncertain that that will be enough for me to continue as a customer. Time will tell.

Items from my order were put on backorder. I was not given any information as to when they might ship or any follow up information. Over a week after receiving the other items from my order, I could still not get any information. I felt forced to cancel the backordered items. There is not any easy way to contact anyone about issues after an order has been made. The online chat requires about an hour to even begin. Time that requires someone to continuously stare at a computer screen until they get around to you (Roughly an hour). If you do not respond immediately, you are dropped from the chat. At which time you are forced to start all over. I have been a LuckyVitamin customer for many years. However, with this most recent order I no longer feel valued.

I found the best price for Squigle Tooth Paste at LuckyVitamin.com. (Squigle is THE best tooth paste if you get canker sores! It’s mild, does not burn, taste good and seems to help my canker sores heal faster!) I have been ordering from Lucky Vitamin for years. Shipping takes about a week, but that’s ok if shipping is free. The only continuing problem I’ve had with my orders is their packaging. The vinyl shipping bags have either not been sealed completely or they have not put enough packing stuffing inside the shipping boxes. Products flop around inside the boxes and get damaged repeatedly.

Their website is easy to navigate. Could be overall less cluttered looking for easier reading. Prices are competitive with Amazon, eBay. etc. Supplements have always been fresh (in-date with a long time before they expire). Shipping can be slow. It's advertised as 1-6 days, however a couple times I received my order after 6 days. I brought this to their attention and they immediately issued me a $5 or $6 credit for future use on their website even though I hadn't originally paid for shipping. Overall I am happy with this company. I've purchased from them multiple times and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

I love the prices, the reward, the regimen...all making it easier to get the supplements we use. However, I had a very hard time accessing the site from my ipad today...I normally use my ipad for shopping but I froze when I got into your site. I tried again with chrome browser, and got as far as putting items in my shopping cart, but when I tried to check cart it froze again. I tried asking for a call back from your phone number and an hour later had not received one.. I finally had to pull my old laptop out and start it so I could order from there, which went through successfully at last. I think you might have an issue with IOS system reading your site...

Great selection and prices! Fast shipping! I enjoy shopping here because they have a wide variety of organic products I like to buy including deodorant, soap, essential oils, and even laundry detergent. The coupon codes and free shipping on all orders over $50 keeps me comming back for more! The only thing that I don't like is that they keep your credit card on file and you have to contact customer support to remove it. I am concerned with this because they don't ask for any verification before a purchase so if anyone gets into your account they could buy whatever they want on your card. Customer service did remove it quickly when I asked which is a plus.

I am thrilled that I have found Lucky Vitamin because the savings are substantial for the very same products. Hooray, hooray! I have never had to use it, but the warranty is exceptional. Thank you. Thank you for the wide selection you offer, including some of my favorites. Thank you for the free shipping and discount promotions. I only order about once a year and am not a frequent shopper, so I appreciate the one-time delivery option and not having to commit to an automatic delivery. Thank you! My rating is very high - 4 stars! I was also surprised at how quickly I received the products. The only thing I find baffling is how to use the Reward Points. I love the products, but I had trouble with the check out process not giving me the discount I was told it would be based on the code. I called and expressed my frustration (nicely, explaining it was confusing and I needed help). The rep was flat--no expression in her voice, no apology for my frustration, no offer to try to make it better. I explained it all, and she didn't get what I was saying. I explained again and she went over the same info. I told her I DID get the code from the company, not the person who referred me, that I had $53 ordered and after the code (which they didn't give me the full amt stated), that it then charged me sales tax, and it didn't say on the website (that I saw) that it had to be over $49 after a discount. I spent 20 min on the phone waiting for this rep, after the prompt said it would be no more than 4 min. After the frustration of having to shop again, add more to the cart, then still not getting the full discount. There was more that went on with the rep, but it's not worth detailing it all. The order, the wait, and the rep were all frustrating. If my daughter hadn't called about another issue today and gotten a wonderful rep who bent over backwards to help her, I'd have cancelled the order. I'll try it one more time with this co., but if I get this kind of poor service again, with no apology for my frustration, I'm done.

Ordered vitamins ect via my daughters account Elizabeth before establishing my own. Used SAVETEN and a $10 promo code When I went to check out the shipping fee to London was off soI called customer service. While she was nice on the phone I was concerned shecouldn't hear the exact address for items to be shipped in London so she dlelted the 15 items I ordered and said to go ahead andprocess it on my computer and her manager would make sure the $10 promo code would be applied. I went back to checkout my order and the computer said I could not apply either the promo code nd SAVETEN due to it being used already???? Please apply the promo code and save ten to my account and reiburse the $ to my visa account. Your products are great but this transaction has taken over an hour to complete-ending with no Promo code and No SAVE ten

I like the site but it would have been easier if you also sorted items by mg size of each serving because reservatrol had 2 pages of products - some of which were only 30 mg while I was looking for 500 mg. Just indicating high to low in the price sort does not alway yield the result I seek. Therefore, better filtering on the left margin would be helpful in completing a fast checkout. Thanks for the birthday gift offer, but why the year of birth? Most retailers ask for month and day only. I just think the combination of all 3 creates a possible identity theft concern and you expect us to trust your shop stewards with this private information. How about collecting month and year - if birth year is really that important to you?

I have shopped on and off with luckyvitamin through the years. They have very competitive pricing and depending on the product they typically have the best pricing. A couple of other online retailers are cheaper on a few of the products I order often, but luckyvitamin is right up there on 9 out of 10 products with their pricing. Their shipping is a little iffy and if you order large quantities you can end up waiting for quite a while from time to time. I wish they would make order processing/shipping a little quicker and that the backorders wouldn't always take so long......otherwise it is easy to use the website and there are no hidden surprises in orders and the ordering experience......

Hi, You guys had a great price for the Good Day chocolate kids vitamins. Unfortunately, the chocolates were very oily from the heat of the day/ delivery truck. The ice pack that was thoughtfully placed inside was totally melted and hot to the touch. I do worry about the heat and the bottle being plastic (toxins released). But my girls really enjoy this product. Maybe order online when it’s not so hot. (Miami, Fl).

Experience thus far suggests something less than a perfect job managing customer demand (merchant has previously cancelled items after confirmation of sale & fulfilled "Back Ordered" items with product marked with short-dated expiration, e.g. with two months rather than twelve months remaining); nevertheless, the merchant does offer compelling prices & some nice features (e.g. Autoship).

Despite the Pandemic that the Country / World is facing and order shipments are expected to be delayed. What I like is that LuckyVitamin engaged and kept me informed of the status of my order and what would be the expected date of delivery and still, they were able to effectuate delivery before the projected delayed date. I think that is important for customer service. I purchased from them because they were cheaper than Amazon, who is suppose to be the product King!

Great thing is that Lucky Vitamin is the only company that I do business with that includes a return label with each order. Extremely helpful for a housebound customer! One time the cap was loose on a bottle of Eldaberry liquid I ordered and was was all over every thing. I complained about it but was never sent an other bottle. Aother time a bottle of echinacea was broken but you replaced it. Overall your service has been good. I like ordering from you because it saves me time going to the health food store.

Website slower and more difficult to navigate than competitors. REALLY dislike the minimum quantities now attached to many items. Do not wish to risk trying new products if I have to order multiples. No option to check out with Shoprunner 2 day! What happened to that? Also noticed price increases on my Seventh Generation products that are no longer competitive with Target and Walmart.

I really appreciate the range of products especially with my diet and needs for supplements. I'm also especially appreciative of the prices because the food or supplements are usually overpriced. I will say that the shipping prices make up for that because it seems a little overpriced for the rate that it comes. The actually tracking fluctuates a lot which can be difficult however I know that isn't necessarily a fault of the business itself.

I like everything about Lucky Vitamins. I like the value they offer on supplements I use daily. I like the search engine within the site as well. I just type in 'Joints' and all the supplements they have for bones & joints is pulled up; Next, I screen each product by rating, or price, or most popular, etc. The other customer's reviews are very helpful, too, for a little deeper look into why a supplement is good or not. I took off one little ole' star because I think the home page, and some other pages are too BUSY! There's soo much splashy info and ads and stuff that it bothers my ADD.

After having difficulty checking out and having a very nice representative assist me, my order arrived in a very timely fashion. One problem that I did have was my entire previous order came on the screen after I entered the one item that I wanted at this time. That can be very confusing, when you only need one item and the total for the entire previous order comes on the screen. I had to figure out how to delete all those other items. That took me a while in itself. Needless to say, I was getting very frustrated before I called in for help.

However, the prices are often a little higher than their competitors, and the website is super annoying with all the extra crap that loads and jumps around while you're waiting to see something as simple as one item. Love the discounts and the savings in prices! However, your web site has some problems. It was very difficult to navigate through & place an order - why? The pages jump around up and down; then many times when the back button is pressed (<) it doesn't go back to where you last were, it goes all the way back to beginning of what you were searching for and then you have to start all over again. Very frustrating. I reported a similar problem to your company some months ago but never heard back. Thank you.

Lucky Vitamin offers a wide selection of quality products at good prices. Standard, free, delivery is fast and reliable. I received a 32oz container of body wash which had been damaged in shipping. The pump lever was broken. I called customer service, just to give feedback on the packaging. Lucky Vitamin insisted on replacing the product. I hadn't asked and it certainly wasn't necessary. They did send a new body wash. That's going above and beyond. It's also the only issue I've had in 5 years.

I love their regular e-mails about discounts, which saves me quite a bit of money. And they distribute my protein powder at a substantial discount over other web suppliers. However, their web site is often very slow and 'balky,' meaning it can get stuck for a few seconds at any point in the transaction. I don't run into that problem with other internet sellers.

Love the selection and it has been a while since I shopped with Lucky Vitamin. The website could sure use an upgrade; faster move between pages, and when checking on product label it has to change pages and reload which seems to take forever. I use Safari browser and that could be part of the problem, but an upgrade to easier shopping would help. If products have multi flavors they could be listed together.

I love the selection at Lucky Vitamin, as well as the prices. Shipping is very slow, and I have had problems in the past with the way my products were packaged. I buy body wash with every single order, and they always leak in transit. They need tape around the top, rather than plastic wrap. Once my soap leaked out completely and ruined the tea in the same box. However, the lady in customer service was excellent and had all new items shipped out very quickly.

At checkout my total was $20.11. After I put my payment in the total read $64.00! That shocked me and I backed out. I reviewed the order page again because I thought I had hit a wrong button. Everything looked okay so I went back to the payment page again and it said $20.11. I don't know exactly what happened but I suspect it had something to do with one of the "free gifts" not really being free. I feel like I was almost tricked and I don't appreciate that. I suggest you make it more CLEAR what's free and what's not. Otherwise my experience was good.

I haven't ordered for awhile as I had problems the last time I ordered. I did not receive my order and when I called I was told there was a problem with the order. I'm not sure what the problem was but was surprised that I was not notified so I told whoever I talked to to cancel the order. Because the prices are so good I decided to try again. The web site can be annoying at times. All the context-sensitive sections (especially around the upper-right, shopping cart, goal, ingredient, deal area). The screen is flashing, constantly redrawing, epileptic seizure waiting to happen. Knock off all the eye candy or offer a simpler page. Also the print receipt option wastes a page, printing the "begin survey" text from that page. Help me save some paper and print a receipt on 1 page please. Inventory is good. Prices are good. But I will find another site with all the screen flashing.

I have been satisfied with Lucky Vitamin. However, lately there are a lot of out-of-stocks. This is difficult for me, because I live on a limited small income. I have to wait until I'm almost out of some supplements before I'm able to re-order them. I like your products and have been ordering from you for 10 plus years, but recently, you installed the little line, beneath the cheaper price on the item, that commits the customer to automatic renewal shipments if the cheaper price is selected. I find this a little sneaky. to your credit, when I contacted your help line, your representative corrected this and exited me from the automatic renewals. But this was a bother to have to do. Why not, just give your faithful customers a price break on repeated items ordered from Lucky Vitamin.

I like Lucky Vitamin. It is a very good site for ordering health goods. But I was trying to order this weekend and have been having a horrible time maneuvering on the site. I couldn't get the shopping cart to come up, etc. I have a new computer and not having trouble with other sites. So, just letting you know. I would have given you 5 stars, but the site took one away.

1. It is difficult to find specific products/supplements in Canada so I love that I can order these items from LV in Canadian $ and shipping costs are reasonable. 2. I did however find it frustrating that I was on old twice for 15-20 minutes each time awaiting customer services. Tried LIve Chat but I still had to call in to resolve my order issue.

I buy from you all the time consistantly, I never get any money off, you only send me offers for stuff I don't use or WANT. You sent me an order that was spilling from 3 bottles, I tried to call couldn't get thru for days ,then had already shipped and PAID to return and you gave me $5 off for my trouble, how about giving a steady customer a break and actually giving me $5 off for being a regular customer, because no one in this world ever gets the Lucky Points now do they ?????????

Many products are not available in my local stores so ordering them online and receiving free shipping is a big bonus for me! I like the salad dressings, mayo, ketchup, and barbeque sauces which help me stay on track with my weight loss plan. The sauces are not my cup of tea and I have given them away. Trying caramel and chocolate sauces this time and am hoping they are good. The jelly is more like jello than jelly but once I get it spread out on my toast it is good! Love the free shipping which I use every time!

Great prices, great selection, good customer service when I have had a problem. The downside: Shipping seems to take forever and a day. From the time I order it takes them two days to email a shipping notification, and seems to take another day or two for shipping to actually take place (based on tracking info). If I want to order from luckyvitamin, I definitely need to plan ahead.

I enjoy shopping with Lucky Vitamins for my nutritional and special food needs. I have never experienced any problems with the products I order here, and I have been shopping here for many years. Products are very varied. Suppliers/vendors are also very varied. I keep coming back and trying new products offered. My only problem is with that darn website. It takes FOREVER to access and complete a large order! May be it's my carrier. Anyway, it's very frustrating. Since I need my products, I keep plugging.

I like your products and prices. However, I have had 2 problems with Lucky Vitamin. 1. An order somehow got erroneously put on Autoship, and i received unwanted bottles. You helped with their return and I trust this will refund satisfactorily. 2. Just now, when I add something to my Cart, it says "Processing" and that "Processing" message never goes away. Finally, by hovering over the cart, I noticed that it had been added despite the Processing message. It looked like it would last forever. Could be pretty annoying...

Great products, Garden of Life weight loss bars not sold in Canada but thanks to Lucky Vitamin I can order online. Last time I ordered I got a tube of Tom's toothpaste instead of the chocolate fudge bars but the customer service rep resolved the issue and gave me a refund when I called. It's unfortunate that shipping to Canada isn't cheaper or I would order more products and more often.
