LuckyVitamin began three generations ago with a family interested in helping others live healthier. Starting with a pharmacy in 1956, the Wolf family became frustrated with western medicine and wanted to do more with natural wellness and alternative medicine. They opened a health and nutrition store in 1996, offering a wider variety of services and products for health. The website, LuckyVitamin.com, was opened in 2005 to present to the larger public its products that help improve health and overall well-being.

Positive Reviews

With over 1,600 reviews, LuckyVitamin scores extremely high within the vitamins and supplements industry. The average rating is over 4.5 stars, and the company is currently ranked in the top spot for vitamin stores.

Online Retailer

LuckyVitamin has created a global e-commerce market through its online store. The company is reaching not only inside the United States but also to over 40 other countries. In fact, the company does not even have a physical store, which it says is one of the ways it can keep prices as low as possible.

Thorough Product Information

The LuckyVitamin site provides thorough information on each product. With the mission to provide health and wellness to all customers, each product page is filled with helpful information including comprehensive product descriptions, ingredients, suggested use, warnings, manufacturer info, and customer reviews. If you want additional information, it will link you to articles related to that product. This allows consumers who want information about the product in general to get a wide view of this product, the specific brand, and the general uses.

From the site, you can access any of its 24 categories of products. The most popular include Nutritional Supplements, Personal Care & Beauty, Vitamins & Minerals, Food & Snacks, and Sports Nutrition. Whether it's sports, dietary supplements, or overall health and wellness, we are positive that you will find what you are looking for.

Each product view includes a picture of the nutrition label so it can be viewed just as it would be on the actual product. This leaves little to the imagination about what you are getting when you purchase the vitamin. The LuckyVitamin site is also very thorough on its return policy information.

90-Day Return Policy

LuckyVitamin accepts opened or unopened items 90 days after the purchase. LuckyVitamin includes specific, step-by-step instructions on how to return items. It also includes what to do in special cases and which brands do not apply to this policy.

Free Shipping on Orders Over $49

When shopping on LuckyVitamin, you'll receive free shipping when you spend more than $49. The site keeps track of this, letting you know how much more is needed to obtain the free shipping. It also offers free shipping on certain promotional items.

When you are checking out, an auto-ship service is available with a discount applied instantly to the order. Consumers can both choose how often the products are shipped and are notified before each shipment is sent out to give them a chance to cancel the order if desired.

Lucky Rewards

LuckyVitamin offers a rewards program for its customers called Lucky Rewards. When consumers sign up for a free MyLucky Account, they earn one Lucky Rewards Point for every dollar spent. Certain promotional items may also be worth more points. Once consumers earn 500 points, $5 in cash is applied to their account..

The Bad

  • Website Navigation
  • Flaws in the Rewards Program

Website Navigation

Although the site is extremely detailed and thorough on its information, this can make it a little hard to navigate. There are multiple pages a user must go through before getting to a page with actual products on it. It also has 24 categories of products which, while some may find helpful, others may find it is too many and makes browsing difficult.

Flaws in the Rewards Program

While it is good that this company even has a rewards program, its program is not competitive in the industry. Because you only earn, generally, one point for every dollar spent, a customer must spend approximately $500 dollars to receive $5 in credit and the consumer must wait 45 days after they've earned the points to use the credit. The rewards program also does not discuss any other options for credits besides the 500 points for $5.

gavel

The Bottom Line

LuckyVitamin has helped thousands of consumers enjoy life more fully with its extensive list of products. However, it does not have the most "rewarding" rewards program, and its site is a bit more difficult to navigate than other sites. It does provide services that make it one of the best vitamin stores we have reviewed. Its auto-ship feature is very useful for returning clients, the site provides a lot of helpful, detailed information about a large number of vitamins, minerals, and herbs.

Above all, the customer reviews truly show the quality of LuckyVitamin. If you are looking for a lot of options and plentiful information about vitamins and nutritional supplements, LuckyVitamin would be one of our top choices.

Company is only good when there isn't a glitch in the order. Once there is a glitch, it is painfully difficult to get efficient customer service to resolve an issue. I had ordered 12 kitty litter treatment and immediately 3 was backordered. The original shipment of 9 was damaged in-transit and FedEx shipped that back to Lucky Vitamin. The 3 backordered ones arrived. After calling for a replacement on the original 9, only 3 was shipped. After the 4th call I was told that the remaining 6 was backordered. First they said estimated delivery on 7/28 and on the 4th call (made today on 8/2) I was told it would be 2 weeks. After calling the manufacturer directly (Ecos who makes the Earth Friendly Products Kitty Litter treament) they said they no longer manufacture it. On the 5th call to Lucky Vitamin I asked for a refund of the remaining 6. He told me it would be a refund of $49.30. Well, Paypal automatically sent an email stating a refund of $24.65 arrived from Lucky Vitamin. That was only half the refund. called a 6th time and the female representative re-confirmed a refund of $49.30 and said to wait 3 business days to call back again. Now, why would Paypal show $24.65 if Lucky Vitamin keeps saying it's $49.30? That means I will be calling a 7th time to get this all straightened out. It's almost as though Lucky Vitamin deliberately wear you down so you stop calling. Beware their customer service is not set up to help you resolve an issue in a quick and efficient manner. That is where they lose customers. Updated 8/5/19 - Lucky Vitamin actually credited a separate credit card for the other half of the $49.30 which caused my confusion. The customer support person did not mention that other than a total of $49.30 would be refunded. As a result I've changed the overall rating from 1 star to 2 stars. They did honor my refund, but their customer service needs improvements in their inventory updating, especially when what is shown onine for purchase. If they don't know when an item will be back for sale their website should indicate that and not lead buyers to think it's backordered and will be shipped in a few days when the product is no longer made by the manufacturer.

1. I received a coupon on 1/6/2019 offering me free shipping for 3 days only with any order over $35.00 and given the following code: FREESHIP35 When I tried to use the code on a $40.75 order, your system would not take the code. I called your customer support and was told you didn't have that code for 1/6/2019. I said, well I have an email here and the representative asked if I could forward the email to her, then she hung up. I called back to ask who to forward the email to and guess what???????? Customer Support was closed for the day. IMAGINE THAT!!!!!!! Convenient, HUH???? 2. I called back on 1/7/2019 and spoke with Cheyenne E in customer support. I sent her a copy of the email. Once she received it she asked If I had used any other promotions, I said No and I asked her to look at my cart that was still there from 1/6. Round and round we went until I said I wanted to speak with a manager. That I was GOING TO GET FREE SHIPPING whether I had to talk to a manager or the president of the company. She finally said she would email me a code for free shipping. I said no, just read me the code so I can get the order finished that I had already spent 25 minutes holding and talking to her and an equal amount on 1/6 with the lady who clearly didn't care whether I gave Lucky Vitamin any business or not. Management should really listen to my call on 1/6 and this one today on 1/7 and make up your own mind as to what's going on in your email marketing department and your customer support department. I placed this order, but there may not be any future orders considering what you are putting your customers through. Should you care enough to call, I will gladly give you more details.

I have been purchasing from this site for several years, but I am no longer a happy customer. Their prices have always been competitive, & they do offer a wide selection of items. They ship pretty fast, however I find that it takes much longer for my order to arrive compared to other companies I've ordered from that also offer free shipping. Navigating on their site is so slow that the ordering process is much more time consuming than it should be. Since their last system upgrade, I've had issues with the site freezing up or kicking me out, which then makes it necessary to log back into the site again. Very annoying. Also with the last system upgrade, I lost a numerous amount of items from my saved "regime" where I list my most frequently purchased items in order to save time. I was very upset about this, but when I called customer service, they were very indifferent about it & said they would report the problem. Overall, I just don't think they are as efficient as they once were.

I was quite dissappointed with waiting 3 months for my order. Totally unacceptable and will never order anything if it's on backorder with Lucky Vitamin. Also, customer service seemed to be sparse as well. Totally different from past experiences I've had with the company. I won't be relying on Lucky Vitamin anymore after most recent order with Lucky Vitamin.

Huge selection, great prices and pretty fast service are the positives. Negatively, every order I’ve placed has had some sort of issue where I had to call customer service which takes 30 mins to an hour on the phone. Also, the Website is very busy and, if you get on the email list, they send a Lot of emails - like one a day. I’m going to try a smaller company that makes more effort to keep their customers satisfied.

Usually everything is great until lately, but couldn't get two items that I really wanted during a good sale. I waited and waited but then my order was cancelled which was a disappointment. I called the customer support number and of all things reached someone in India. Just seems more cost cutting by killing off American jobs by the Lucky Vitamin management. This and the order cancellation has me thinking I may go elsewhere for my future orders.

I ordered from lucky vitamin and had an issue with confirming my payment. Not only did I have to email my bank and call a couple people, but I was not able to get a "code" from who ever I needed to secure my payment for my order. This left me in deep frustration and I had no interest in purchasing anything else with luckyvitmain. I then got an email from the luckyvitamin saying my order went through and they took care of it. I appreciate them taking care of the payment issue, but it should not have taken that long to figure out payment issues to begin with.

After my second order with them I was going to write a review of the products bought. Two questions emerged: how did the stars appear taking into account there was no such option avalable while writing a review. And second was even more tecnical. What amazed me, they didn't answer anything. Then I sent them one more request and then -one more. Apart from automated confirmations of my messages received -total silence during two weeks. Now I'm really curios: Do they have something to hide?..

Too many security settings that need to be unblocked and still, I cannot access page 2 of my Wish list. When I try to convert the format to show three items across, I get automatically returned to the home page. Ordering online on this website has become very frustrating. When I delete an item on my wish list, the box pops up saying "This item has been added to your wish list." I want to delete it, not add it back. Arggggg!

The products and prices were good, but my rating is based on overall customer service. Three of my items arrived broken, and I sent off an email asking for a refund the next morning. An automated reply said I would hear back in 72 hours. Eight days later... I decided to call them. After 20 minutes on hold... I decided to use Live Chat while I continued on hold to see which might work fastest. Live Chat was the way to go - whole refund resolved in minutes. But really - too many hoops. Am hesitant to order from here again, quite frankly.

I attempted Saturday to make a purchase. Every time I would get to the end no matter how many times I tried, it had wrongfully increased my total amount. Finally I tried to call and it said the phone was closed. I then realized I would have to wait until Monday to call so that I could make my order. I called Monday and sat on the line waiting to speak to someone for 35 min when the automated recording finally told me that wait would be 25 min more. So I gave up very disappointed I had wasted all of that time accomplishing nothing but stress and aggravation.

I ordered Peaceful Planet rice protein in Van and Cho. When I went to reorder you no longer carry the Van. Then I went to order the cho and you no longer carry that. I ordered Inca Meal in Van and wanted 3 containers. There was only two left. So I ordered 5 and they are back ordered. This has been my very frustrating experience ordering from Lucky Vitiaim.

If you are sending products USPS I don't understand why you want to charge $9.00 if sent to PO Box. I understand if you are sending by UPS to my physical address. I get packages from them all the time. I never get packages from USPS when address is labeled physical address. Where I live they don't deliver. If I don't keep checking to see when delivered It takes days to track down my package. Very frustrating.

Too much sale pressure on website on hold on phone creates stress and your business is supposed to promote health. I hate the windows on your website like "cart is empty that is unlucky". I hate all the advertisements while on hold on line. I hate the fact that you are constantly advertising your site with pop ups when I am not on your site. I am motivated to be healthy and lower my stress level. You make that difficult.

Often I get crushed items or nearly expired items (especially with Brads Chips) . Sending the items back because of Lucky Vitamin screwups is really annoying. PLEASE check the pull date and quality of your products. I am only ordering from you because you are the only online source for these products. Honestly, I’m often disappointed with the quality that arrives. If it happens again, I’m never ordering from you again. Also, Vitacost and the Vitamin Shoppe have much better prices and faster delivery.

Everything else is fine except for the shipping carrier. It left my package unattended at the ground floor lobby instead of bringing it up to my apartment on the 12th floor as instructed. My preference for the carrier is USPS. My TOP PRIORITY when placing my order online is DELIVERY SERVICE. Thank you.

Decent selection, but for some reason the shipping takes 4-6 weeks. They said the box had been shipped, and six days later it finally was sent to FedEx. My family has had similar issues multiple times throughout the year. I am reluctant to buy from LuckyVitamin again.

Website needs to be clearer on options within a product selection. In my order, three items were the correct brand, but not the correct product in that brand that I intended to by. When a product like comes in a variety, such as a clear wash or a cream wash, the should be full clarity on which goes into a shopping cart.

Telephone wait is interminable. Chat doesn't always work. Website doesn't follow its own directions. Impossible to place an order online and impossible to place an order on phone. Too bad. I may have to look for another provider. I can't stay sitting on the phone for 15-30 minutes or working with an incompetent website.

You emailed me a promo code today (5/27 - MEM5 & MEM10 for $49 & $65) and when I tried to use the code, the prices were upped to $69 and $99. I originally had 5 items in my cart with one subscription; however, because you did not honor my code, I deleted 2 of the items including the subscription and will purchase those from Amazon.

Terrible web site! When I find what I want, the page changes before I can click on it. I wanted 5 of an item. Before I knew it, I had 12 in the cart! It took me a long time to figure out how to reduce it to 5, partly because the page kept changing. Product I good, though, and I know you have it.
