I've many airlines. My preference is business/first class. I usually fly American but to fly direct LAX-New Orleans, United was the only nonstop carrier. No champagne (which is a first class perk in every other airline I've flown). Food mediocre. Service very average. I was also not entitled to their company lounge even though I was flying first class. VERY UNIMPRESSED.

I have flown almost a million miles on United but everything has gone downhill with the airline. Even First Class is far from what it used to be. Frankly, flying with United is like taking the bus. Though I'm not sure any large US airlines are any better. European airlines put US airlines to shame.

Get rid of UNITED and bring back CONTINENTAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get rid of Jeff Smizek as CEO...... United has turned into nothing but a money grabbing company who provides very little service these days. Prices are outlandish as well as the paying for baggage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Continental was twice as good of a company on its own than United ever was before or after the combining of the two.

I flew with united airline last July 1, my trip was the worst I could first pass a delay of three hours from Chicago to Houston, when it comes to Houston obviously about to lose the flight and to top it off the exit to travel to Veracruz is as far as you have walked into an airport, when he would address suffered a fall, any employee was kind enough to help me, I made a claim for its webpage and this is the date I have not received a response.

Was in hospital in Honolulu, missed flight, went next day and paid $1500 for ticket back to Phoenix, submitted all documentation and letter from doctor who treated me at hospital (at United's request) proving I had no choice - United would NOT refund my money! I called and talked with them, sent everything by mail and still they said the price was fair - $1500 from Oahu to Phoenix. I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad there are other carriers.

That would be short and sweet ( not so ) On my last flight to Germany, I flew United. This airline seems to be getting worse every time I fly .How rude the hostess, I asked for water to take some med's I was told " you have to wait , I have better things to do.

I've come to realize that the expectations of the travelling public in the USA are much lower so the standards of customer service and product quality are not on par with those of carriers from Europe, South East Asia or the Middle East. United (like all other US airlines) is more like a low cost carrier than a premium/full-service carrier. You get the sense that a lot more than corners have been cut.

I have never been able to complete my flight home. Always out of Chicago to CAK. Plane breakdown and/or airport shutdown due to weather. When flying west it is almost impossible to avoid Chicago...especially when going to Chicago. But I keep trying. Another attempt this summer. Fingers crossed. Otherwise the planes westbound were on time and I am treated satisfactorily.

In the last 4 years I flown United twice. Both times my flight out of Chicago did not make it to CAK. The first, the airplane never left Chicago and the first flight I could get was Tuesday - This was on a Friday. The second was weather related CAK was unsafe to land but flying to Pittsburgh instead of waiting for the storm to pass was not a bright move. I avoid United - I am at this point willing to pay more $$$ to avoid United.

Continental was superiour to United with a more average-person friendly frequent flyers programme. Since taking over Continental and getting the merger straightened out United has gone down hill. Smaller seats, less leg room, eliminating 2 free bags for international flights and one free bag for domestics USA flights, sometimes miserable staff even on long haul flights, on short haul flights there is no head room storage that will take a regular carry-on bag. The frequent flyer programme has been reduced to favor the business and first class passengers.

Missed a connecting flight because of a delay in our arrival but the plane was sitting on the tarmac and refused to open the door since it had already been closed. The connecting flight was also delayed by 30 minutes but said policy prohibits reopening the door once it is closed. Ok - went to counter and the clerk rudely raised her hand and said to wait for the next clerk to service my need to make rearrangements. She just slinked away without informing or acknowleding me waiting in line and left me hanging! How rude! Had to wait another clerk and form another line. Avoid United if possible.

On 5/31 we flew to Orlando from Vegas. Our flight was rerouted due to weather. We got to Houston 3 hours late to find out our flight was cancelled. Employees were not sympathetic, or helpful in Houston. We were booked First Class and were treated worse than our luggage. Customer service really sucked, as on two different occasions we were totally ignored at the counter, when we needed to ask a question. We saw videos on Youtube about United and were excited to fly this airline. After our experience we will never fly United again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the past 2 months I have unfortunately taken 2 round trips on United. Very bad experiences and very disappointed!!! The counter clerks give terrible customer service at the Chicago OHare airport, the travel insurance is a rip off!! Timely departures and being thrown in to the street when your flight is missed because of the airline is not a good impression! I will not be flying United at least through Chicago OHare again and it will be a long time before I fly United at all!!!!!!! Oh and I get miles on their program but it sure doesn't get you better service!!!

Since UA bought out Continental, the resulting merger has gone downhill. Many employees point to the current CEO as a leader in name only. Flights to and from South Florida to Houston and Newark have been cut to about a quarter of what they used to be; those times now cater to the vacation travelers with the business travelers moving their business to other airlines. I really miss Continental!!!!

Well it was some time ago, but the family and I were on our way home to Seattle from Florida, got stuck on the runway due to some thunder storms. It's OK, no big deal weather happens. However the flight attendants were absolutely horrible. So much so, that I have never flown United again. So much disrespect and anger, why would anybody put up with that. My advise is to fly Alaska

I used united airlines a few times, but I feel like they are pretty over priced. I can usually find a lot better deals from other airlines. I don’t feel like they offer anything more than the other airlines to pay the more expensive rate. They aren’t usually my first choice.

Long time United flyer. Love the extras you get included like their United Lounges and no baggage fees. Downside is they tend to be more pricey than some of their competitors.

I will never be booking with United Airlines again. I booked a flight to New York City through United and they delayed the first flight by 3 hours because they didn't schedule enough employees, which then caused me to miss my next flight. The staff was very rude, and I had to wait in the airport for another 7 hours. The way back home was worse. Beginning with the first flight there were constant delays, and they only continued to happen. Again, I missed my next flight. The staff was rude and unapologetic. I had to sleep in the airport, causing me to be late to work the next day.

Unfortunately, our experiences the last few times with United Airlines have been sub par. Flights were overbooked, late, having to reroute because of low fuel, left stranded in another city, etc. We booked United because of cheaper fares, but you get what you pay for.

We had a flight with United recently that was a disaster. They chose to fly to Houston even though they knew their was a hurricane. They had to re-route us to Dallas. Once there, they waited 4 hours to cancel our flight. We all had to wait to be able to get our bags to find other flights. Once we were switched to another airline, they lost my bag for 3 days before getting it to me on our family vacation.

Similar to Delta, United is a large airline that makes you feel like you are just another #. They struggle to personalize the experience for me and do little to help me feel like a valuable customer. At the same time, they do well with their processes, airplane comfort, features, etc. Its good, but could be so much better.

I don't like that United doesn't have screens behind the seats for movies, you have to use your own device. I didn't have my iPad with me so I ended up watching a movie on my phone which is too small to really enjoy. And to keep my phone from dying I had to plug it in but the only place to do that is under the seats and they're impossible to find and reach. It would be much more convenient if the plug was actually somewhere I could reach.
