SW had direct flights from St. Louis to Birmingham, AL that took about 1 hour. Now the flight makes a connection either in Chicago or Houston and takes over 6 hours. They also advertise cheap flights but never has a flight been less than $125 one way. I can drive from St. Louis to Birmingham in about 9 hours and it only cost about $60 in gas.

It was great to have direct flights between St. Louis and Birmingham and it only taking 11/2 hours. Now it takes over 6 hours with stop overs in either Chicago and / or Houston. Those direct flight were always full. Southwest get the hint reinstitute the direct flights between St. Louis and Birmingham.

Not Good … they left us stranded in a 3rd world country, no internet, no cellular service … costing us an additional $1000.00 for 1 nite stay longer,not to mention dangerous territory : ( Completely shocked as Southwest was "always" our -go-to … note "was" !

Southwest is great. When we fly to oakland we try to always fly southwest. Free checked bags, and the flight is consistently on time and staff helpful and friendly.
