I was told I would be getting the program I had requested and would be able to record and watch the recordings on all 4 tvs. I didn't get the programming I had requested and can record and watch on one tv. When I called to straighten it out, I was told the customer service person had written something else down and there was nothing that could be done. I am stuck with a two year contract and not getting what I was told I would get, unless I pay a lot more. I gave them a 2 rating, which is probably too high.

Direct t.v. does not live up to it's promises.but expects you to they promised $200 gift card if you transferred your services, which they conveniently denied, saying wrong code was used, later came up with different reasons. I then cancelled my subscription, and then they demanded that I pay them $300 for cancelling "my contract" I have been paying $30 a month, but they can get away with not living up to their side of their contract. I've had many others say the same thing happened to them.

I had them move my satalite dish a few feet up my gabeled roof 6or 7 ft Wireing just needed to be cut shorter. Took the service man 20min at the most. Cost 150.00 dollars. I told the man if I knew there would be a charge I would have done it myself. I WILL change providers when my contract is up!

Direct TV LIED to me when I subscribed. I told them I was planning on moving within 6 months and was told I had one free move as long as it was into an area they served. It was, but they charged me $400 to move my service. I was going to drop it then, but they were going to charge another $400 penalty. My two years is up now and I am looking for another service as quick as practical. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DIRECT T.V.

It doesn't treat you fair when installing new equipment. My box tore up and I did not ask for HD because it was 10.00 higher, and we are on a fixed income. They put a Hd box in and charge 10.00 higher each month plus 7.00 extra for insurance. I signed the paper when the work was completed, as always. I called them and they told me that I signed a 2 year contract and there was nothing I could do but pay for HD for 2 years. This is very sad when companies take advantage of elderly people

I wouldn't recommend direct TV to anyone. The first 6 months of my contract I was on the phone every month arguing with some idiot who couldn't speak English. They kept adding charges and I would have to call to change it. I can't wait to change to another service I had dish before and there is no comparison to them. I switched because of programing disputes. I will find another service that I like.

I am thinking of changing as soon as I hear from Time Warner. I have no special package and they have raised my bill so much that I will have to change. Tried esplaining that we have been with Direct as long as they have been in our area and this is how we are treated. We couldn't even talk to anyone about the bill. The lady said there was nothing they could do. Husband has passed and you raised it so high, I just cannot afford it. Direct does not work with you or even try to help. Will be changing.

The Worst ever experience. After I decided to quit service after 5 years (because of ever increasing rates) they refused to release me but here is the kicker. When I finally got a supervisor to cancel my service, they set and EMP signal through the signal box and burnt out my HDMI PORTS on both of my TVs. WTF and they would not admit to it saying not one but both my tvs were faulty. WTF. I will never do business with them again. Netflix streaming baby1

Increased rates twenty-five cents to four dollars every month. Same old shows every night and every week. Never any new or good westerns or movies All other shows are reruns from years past. Programming horrible. They keep adding and removing channels. They changed my package because the original package I had is no longer available. Supposed to be an improvement, but definitely is not. Considering going back to Dish which is the only other choice in my area.

I am now paying $300 back because I "didn't fulfill my contract.. how come I have to fulfill my contract and they don't? I found out this is a common practice with direct t.v. I'm on social security and have to make monthly payments..certainly do not recommend direct t.v.

Horrible. I moved over 5 years ago and the movers packed the receivers. When I arrived in my new city, the condo would not allow satellite. I tried to return the receivers to the local office but they refused. I called many times and I was told they would send a box and shipping label. Never received it even after more calls and more attempts to return the receivers. Now 5+ years later, I have a collection for almost 800.00! I've tried to, again return the receivers and now I'm told they too old. Never again with these guys even if they would erase the collection.

Lies. Lies. And more lies. They say it's wireless. Everyone I know that has it, has a bunch of wires showing. They talk about the whole house genie but they don't tell you that it adds 30 dollars a month to your bill. If you're not happy, there's no way you can get out of it without paying a hefty fine. Of course, the government gave them a hefty fine for that.

Can't wait for my two years to be up so I can get rid of them. they told me what my package would be and after 3 months they raided the price telling me it was a promo. I picked their top package and was told that I would have the price I agreed to . After the customer service was rude on the phone , they told me the gentleman I spoke with did not have ability to make those statements. Best day of having Direct TV will be the day I reach the two year mark and cancel my service.

The worst. I had signed up with the promise of getting Internet too. We're unable to get me Internet but wouldn't let me out of contract. Canceled and moved to a location that I can't get a signal and yet constantly sending me and calling me with offers to sign up. Each time I tell them I can't get a signal, they say they will make a note not to contact me anymore. Next month they call and send offers in the mail again. Waste of money.

DirecTV is a cable provider I will never use again. They have a decent channel line-up but the satellite goes out with bad weather. You pay a monthly fee for each receiver you have and you return them upon cancellation/contract ending. Customer service is horrible, when my contract ended the company took money out of my account to pay for the receivers that I had only sent back a week prior. My suggestions to EVERYONE considering switching to DirecTV is to pay by check. Do NOT and I repeat DO NOT let them have your debit/credit card info. If it's possible go with another provider.

Quality of programming consistently going down. The primary reason we still have DTV is for the sake of my elderly mother. She has dementia and unfortunately only understands how to use DTV. So things like HULU, Netflix is out of the question. Company product is not worth the money with all of the live stream options available. NFL ticket is not necessary anymore and they are still charging like its a rare commodity.

It was quite a pain to get rid of that and then ATT equifaxed me for it when they bought DirecTV and it took me over a year to get it off my report and it cost me 17 points.

Direct tv has been notorius for changing the prices on the channel packages without notifying you. One month it may be the regular rate next month they added a hundred to your bill. Heck they even change your package plan without asking and pick your channels for you. If you get an americian on the phone well your in luck but if not dont dare ask for a supervisor. They wont let you talk to one.

I was a customer for 17 years customer service was always very difficult to interact with. Getting any kind of technical help was next to impossible. Every time I tried to switch services to a different provider they always said you are under contract. Even though I never signed a new contract and only upgraded my equipment one time in 17 years. Would not recommend. Also continued to raise prices while providing less programing.

Satellite is not pretty but good function. Random program cancellation that are set on auto record. Will not record during unannounced programing updates. Lots of pixtulations on pictures. Sound is lost at times. Too many adds at bottom of screen during program which interferes with picture and the closed caption words. Lied about being able to move and just transfer service, had to sign up for a new contract for 2 years and was charged for installing dish.

DirecTV is not what it used to be. The value has diminished over the years and we opted to cut the cord for steaming services and an HD antenna for local channels. We get all of the same content for far less. Even paying for several streaming services, we pay about $30/mo. instead of $85/mo. with DirecTV. Same shows whenever we want for far less money. Cut the cord.

Dealing with Direct Tv was straightforward and professional. When AT&T took over the company I knew I was in for problems, because their billing has always been messed up. And, it was. From the start it was one price, and the next month a different price. Constantly changing and you couldn't get a straight answer from them. That's when I left them completely. You cannot operate on a budget using them.

Directv is great when it comes to some of their packages. I prefer them over cable companies. However, when it comes to the service, it can get spotty. There are times the tv will just glitch out for no reason. This happens on all 4 of our boxes. The TVs never do it when using streaming services or anything else. They have told us to replace the boxes with newer ones...that would put us in another 2 year contract. And that’s a bit shady for a company that huge.
