They told me over the phone they could do wood shingles and they just did not show up for our meeting...just told me they could not do them after I called to find out where they were. They should have called to let me know before the appointment and not let me wait for them.

Terrible. the guy on the phone tried selling me something without providing a salesperson to come and visit and look at my house. The seller made mistakes after mistakes and laugh way too much at I don't know what. I wasted my time.

This is a second review because I don't think I'm able to go back and edit my initial review, which was submitted right after the sales process was completed. That is why Zenernet has as many 5-star reviews as they do- they prompt you to leave a review before any real work takes place, and give the impression that it's a review of the salesperson. Zenernet's strengths are their excellent sales pitch, ability to source quality panels, and (usually) ability to get the panels installed. If only it were that simple, they'd be highly successful. However, they have major staffing issues with seemingly very high turnover. A bigger issue is that they do not have nearly enough boots-on-the-ground staff to actually evaluate a homeowner's existing conditions, or meet an inspector on site to get an inspection done, or solve any very normal issues that come up with the permitting and inspection of a solar array. I brought specific concerns to them about the installation, which were blown off, and the inspection failed because of it. I'm giving them two stars instead of one because ultimately I do have installed panels that have passed inspection, and I've found that they really are trying to staff competent people and resolve issues that have come up. I've received sincere apologies and received help from new Zenernet staff who do know what they're doing. It's just too little, almost too late, as I'm coming right up against the deadline for my system to be operational before my utility company adopts a new metering agreement which would signify a drastic economic disadvantage for the entire lifespan of my system. In my experience, they're trying to do better for customers, but a lot of people have been left hanging without the use of systems they've paid a lot of money for. If they survive over the next few years, I think they'll figure out their operational problems and be worth working with, but for now, they definitely can't claim to be the best customer experience in solar.

Many of the issues you've cited are things that we have recognized as areas where we have to improve. We are bringing new staff on board in the installation and project management areas and putting new procedures in place to deliver quicker installs and and better communication.

In regards to the new net metering policies, the California Public Utilities Commission has put a decision on the proposed net metering changes on hold indefinitely, so there should be no issue with your system being grandfathered into the current rates if any change does happen. However, if you have any concerns please reach out to our team.

I had a great initial consultation w/ Mike M. He requested right away that I write a review and sent the link for that. I gave 5 stars based on that initial conversation. I was pleased with his approach and our follow up conversations. After researching additional companies, I found the exact same system Zenernet presented me with, with same service and warranties, for significantly less money (32%). I let Mike know I was going to go with that other company because why pay more all things being equal. His response was to suggest I was lying to him. I assume he thought I was just trying to drive the price down. He said he deserved proof of the other bid. I don't necessarily agree he deserved anything but my courtesy, but I provided the estimate nonetheless. Then his tone was was more pleasant again, although he tried to suggest it was not an apples bid. I know for sure it is and his suggestion in itself is annoying from someone who has not at the table for my conversations with other companies. I cannot speak to Zenernet other than my interaction with this sales rep. But since I was asked by the rep to write a review simply based on our interaction in the pre-sales process, that is what I am doing. I have changed my initial 5-star review to 2 stars based on how I was treated when I was just trying to be honest and show appreciation for the interaction we had up to that point. Needless to say, I won't be going with Zenernet now.

Zenernet company I know very little but the proof of the Pudding is my installation and the out come after it goes into service. I am a retired electrician and want the system wired so that I don't see 80 ft of conduit hung off my million dollar home . so if you want a true evaluation, ask me after I m up and running
