Run away from this company if you encounter them. They don't honor the warranty for any expensive repairs. They will not return any phone calls during escalation process. I am a licensed real estate agent and have received complaints from many clients. Also, experienced it first hand. They will also take the $75 deductible and then deny you the service using generic excuses like lack of proper maintenance.

After putting a claim to repair HVAC, I had to wait 2 days in extremely hot weather for a technician to show up with no working AC just to get a diagnosis. The technician took another 3 days to submit the diagnostics to the company. After a week I received a denial of the claim stating that the reason for my unit not to be working is a maintenance issue; therefore not covered by the warranty. I am a general contractor, and I can definitely tell you it is not a maintenance issue. They refused to cover it. Complete SCAM. Do not buy this warranty.

I had a 2-yr policy and initially, was satisfied. However, sometime during that time, the company quit replacing appliances, and now just send money for replacement, (they say). The amount they stated as averagement replacement for a washing machine was #299.99, which is totally inadequate. After several appeals to CHW, it was stated that they only replace WHOLESALE prices. Their highest offer was $400.00 (still not enough). As a consumer, I do not intend to renew.

I gave them a 1 and that was too much. I felt I was very mislead from my initial conversation when signing up for this warranty. Now time to use it, NOTHING is really covered! I wish i could have recorded the sign up conversation and all the YES we cover that. My purpose was to have coverage for damage items (not cosmetic damage) but they only cover a very minimum of hardware items. Really not worth it. Look at all the money you spend plus pay your service fee to be told NOT COVERED. I will make sure to contact the BBB and report this scam.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The contractor who came out said we need a new water heater. He said he was going to make sure that happened because of how bad ours was. We moved into a house that had been vacant for almost a year. It took a month for us to find out that they were going to do nothing about it because WE (not the previous home owner) didn’t take care of it. So I basically paid $65 to find out Choice Warrenty is useless. Don’t waste your time or money.

Choice home warranty is a ridiculous company. They do not want to cover what the warranty covers . I would give a zero star but then it would look like I did not review . Sad company. Stay away and choose another company. So if your Real state agent or the home seller is choosing this company . Tell them no deal. Pick another company I wonder if this company is ran by Democrats ?

When I purchased everything was great. When I filed a claim they try to get you to do everything on line instead of talking to a human. Customer service rep was nice. Service tech showed up, performed diagnosis and submitted the claim which was declined. Found out from the service tech that this is a common practice. They find something in the diagnosis or repair that is excluded and deny the whole claim leaving you with the bill. After all, they already have your money, why would they pay anything out, that's not good business. Needless to say I am canceling my policy

Do not choose this company!! Waiting 7 days for dryer repair. Keep telling me Seaeching for a certified technician in your area. They want me to hire someone and submit the expense. They obviously have no business relationships with businesses in CT.. The second claim was denied for a water leak at an elbow. They don't cover corrosion. Customer service very poor. Canceling coverage and going with a reputable company.

I never got things fixed the first time. The technician will come out and would not know how to fix it. Takes weeks to fix one appliance by calling Choice back numerous times talking to technicians, etc. etc..... Choice never resolved the problem at the first time. I had to go through 2- 3 companies & will take weeks. This time, they declined to fix my exiting water heater. It took them almost a month to tell me that they are not going to fix my water heater. I do not recommend this company! Horrible service!

I am researching warranties and after adding my phone number to their website, Choice Home Warranty called me before I even got off their web page. The sales person was pushy, and kept offering me his next best deal, I told him I was looking for price and product, but when I told him I need to do more research, he said I obviously was not looking for either if didnt choose them, told me I was contradicting myself and hung up on me. Sorry, but Im surrounded by jerks all day, I'm not gonna pay money to someone to be one to me. I'll look elsewhere.

I haven’t signed up yet, but definitely WILL NOT with my experience with them so far. I said I was interested in their warranties 2 days ago and have since then been called 8 times, have 3 voicemails, numerous emails, and had somebody blow me off an hang up when I said I couldn’t talk because I was at work. Every time I have talked to somebody they have tried to get my credit card information. I don’t feel like they really care, they just want my money. The oppressive number of times they have tried to get my information makes it feel like a scam.

Abo I bought a 3 year policy and was told that if I didn't like the policy after a year I could get a full refund on the last 2 years... this is a lie... I had a washing machine issue that took them over a month to send out 3 different companies before they completely destroyed my $650 washer machine and gave me a check for 300 to replace it... I live way out my country it was hard not having a washing machine, if that had been my refrigerator my AC or my heat I would have been totally screwed! All I want is my 600 back!

Went online to get a quote. Within a few minutes of providing an online quote I received a call from a fast talking salesman. He tried several times to close the sale. I told him I was still shopping and wanted to check reviews. Once he determined he was not getting a sale today he became angry and abruptly ended the call. Not the type of people I would want to do business with.

Do not get your insurance with them. I had a 34 year old water heater that was leaking and they refused my claim. The contract did say they don't cover anything that retains water, but really, do they think water heaters last forever, it's 34 years old for goodness sake. I cancelled my policy, read your contact very carefully. There find print will get them out if paying for just about everything.

Stay away from them. I signed up with them for 4+ years. When I filed a claim to come and fix the refrigerator. First they kept canceling the appointment and finally after a month the person who came, spent less than 5 minutes and said compressor was not maintained so they will not cover. I finally called someone on my own and they changed a panel and fixed it, there was no problem with the compressor. CHW is a scammer just like their subcontractors. I would like to cancel my contract but even then they bill every month. I do not recommend this company at all.

I am very dissatisfied with your company and tell everyone I know, including all realitors I know. It is never mentioned in your sales pitch that you don't pay retail for a replacement , and the money you offer is a joke. Your last rep informed me that that there was a new range at Home Depot priced at $379,(she offered $349.99. We went to Home Depot website and found NONE for less than $800. You are rip-off artists.

ONE OF THE WORST COMPANIES !!!! Buyers, please choose someone else! This company is HORRIBLE !!!! I've been waiting for almost a full week for a hot water heater to be replaced. Since they will not make any more money on me, they are giving me the runaround and pretending the technician is not calling them back. Said I could ask for another tech, but would have to start the entire process all over again!!!! I won't be renewing my policy with them again EVER !!! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!

HVAC went out and they are trying to say it was due to an "electrical" surge. Total BS. My husband has been an HVAC technician for 30 years and never had an electric surge happen that caused an HVAC to burn out. Many other reasons but not a surge. Now I have to get an attorney involved and file a BBB complaint because they want to find outrageous reasons to deny your claim. To boot, husband had knee replacement surgery so we have been home for weeks, no surge ever, no tripped breakers. They think they can just make up reasons to deny a claim.

My toilet is a $1,200.00 toilet. so I was caught off guard by the low ball offer. They said they can only replace at a builder grade. I went with this company because it was recommended by my agent. Be the customer of Choice Home Warranty for a couple year, I'm very disappointed by my first service call. The central AC doesn't work lately. I called for service and file a new claim. Well it's a week and my garage door opener is not even scheduled to be fixed. A garage door that can't be secured. A week to get the microwave looked at. It's probably going to be best to return to total Protect. The savings isn't worth the waiting. The longest it took total to fix anything was two days. I haven't even heard a word since the guy was hear to look at the opener. Then they also told me they will replace my quality opener with a builders grade. Total replaces quality with quality.

Customer Service after sales is not the best. I reported a problem on my refrigerator and stove and in both cases had the worst experience getting them fixed. They took. I responsibility for the fridge and for the stove, I waited 3 months with no response until I called again to check and the response was that the case was closed because the Technician they sent never reported anything to them. If I could go 0 stars I would. This company fights every claim, and does not pay vendors. I signed with them because their phone rep assured me that I would have coverage on a home for my daughter 3 hours away from me. Little did I know that they were no more than a scam. I had to find my own vendors as none in the area would work with them. Then when I sent the bills to them for reimbursement, the claims were all denied even with valid documentation. It is no wonder that the State of New Jersey is pursuing action against these guys. I hope other states will pick it up as well.
