The Bad

  • Pricing
  • Scrutiny
Best Western's long list of prestigious awards and brand popularity makes it harder to see the reality of the actual hotel experience, i.e. if they deliver on their promises. Guests should be aware that there is also a difference in quality between the economy Best Western and the higher tiered brands like the Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier. With each tier upgrade, amenities are delivered closer to what the brand promises,  with pricing increasing substantially for guests only in the midscale demographic. Amenities promised have faced some friendly scrutiny from customers, such as:
  • Noisy locations in some major cities
  • facilities are not as good as the price
  • You get what you pay for, no more.
  • Small rooms
  • Communal balconies in some locations (limited privacy)
Also to be noted is that promoted amenities are typical at most United States hotels but not guaranteed. Additionally, amenities will vary at International locations.

The Bottom Line

Best Western holds a plethora of accolades in the hotel industry for everything from best website to best customer engagement. They have several brand tiers with increasing levels of quality, amenities and pricing. Guests get the level of quality they pay for. As a global brand with a solid reputation, guests can feel secure in what to expect, although it can vary on location and individual franchise owner standards. The hotel chain's universal appeal comes from its great staff, its convenient locations across North America and several other continents, and its commitment to providing personalized and caring guest experiences.  As the world's most popular midscale hotel brand, Best Western's affiliation with so many partners allows customers to benefit from various discounts like AAA membership.

Worst experience ever. The hotel staff lacked Clear communication with the customers. The bathroom exhaust did not work there was mold and rust on the restroom ceiling. The wood cabinets we’re falling apart war on the edges. The lamps were missing lightbulbs. The room was over all dirty. I found myself doing the work of the staff at hand because they were to lazy to get off their butts to service the customers. They did not go out of their way to do 100%. I would never recommend best western to anyone, you guys are not the best and should change the company name to the worst western hotel. I have pics to prove the above.

We have been traveling cross country for 21 years and have never stayed at a best western until now but never again. We stayed at the BW in Grants, NM and out of all the rooms we've rented over the years this was the worst. The floor was wood flooring and you could see weeks of footprints on this floor that looked like it was never mopped for sure but not even swept with debris everywhere on the floor. The shower was absolutely disgusting with mold and hair all over it ( my wife had to scrub it before use) that's pretty pitiful. The phone didn't work, the refrigerator made an obnoxious humming noise, the bathroom looked like it had been wiped down with a rag they had used on every room they TRIED to clean. Everything they wiped with that rag had a white streaky residue, it was disgusting. The room was so bad that we had a room reserved at the Best Western plus in Kingman and cancelled the reservation and drove the extra 6 hours to come home instead. What a pitiful excuse for a hotel. I know this review won't make the cut for you because of the "specific invitation" question below but there are other venues for getting the word out. Go check the room and see for yourself, Room 221.

Most feral animalistic behavior encountered at Best Western in Williamstown NJ. She pretended to be the manager. Turns out she lied. The guy that booked did not state about the dust and debris and trash all over the place. The so called manager told me to F-off and called me a stupid American. The manager by the adopted name of Tom said she felt “discriminated”; I guess that is why after I left with no cancellation receipt she ran out the door and started threatening me again; the corporate has no clue what they are doing. Supposedly it takes 6 weeks to get a video. Complete mismanagement. Disgusting behavior.

I stayed at Best Western, Waterloo, ON (547, King Street N, Waterloo) at the end of Aug, 2021 for 3 nights. I stayed at many Best Western locations before as this hotel has a good reputation. But I will never go back to BW Waterloo again. When I checked in I noticed that bathroom sink has got clogged. I immediately informed the front dest and requested for a new room. They did not provide a new room but said will fix it very soon. That night I called the front dest more than 5 times but no body pick up the phone finally I had to go down to check about the clogged sink. Promised that it will be fixed next morning. I went out that morning and informed again to fix the sink issue. When I came back after lunch I found nothing has been done. So I got angry and had to yell at them to send someone to fix the issue. Very poor customer service and hotel maintenance. I also found that the bathroom shower drain clogged too. The person I was dealing at the front desk seems to be the owner. Be careful next time when you go to BW Waterloo.

Dog urine, cigarettes, and horrible customer service! When moved to a 3rd room as the first two smelled, I left my passport in the first room. Hotel staff found it but did not notify me. They had it for 4 days before I backtracked and called them. The six-hour trip to pick it up put me 30 minutes away from missing an international flight, all because hotel staff were unwilling to make a phone call to let me know that they had it. I understand them not calling every customer who leaves an item behind, but … a passport - unforgivable! The GM’s response to my complaint was uncaring and unacceptable. If you are looking for dirty and rude, this is the place for you!

#72126064726896 Absolutely horrible so worst western plus cedar bluff inn in Knoxville. So I book the room though Expedia ... as always in 10 years never had a issue. 120$ a night paid it ..... I finally get there after driving 14 hours .... only to discover not only do they want there money but supposedly simply because I booked thou Expedia ... they wanted another 150$ ran and placed on hold for incidentals.... so just for me to stay one night they wanted 270$ ..... couldn’t just have my card on file no no (like everyone else) and to top it off they wouldn’t accept my American Express. Wouldn’t refund my money ... nada. So I was forced to sleep in my truck. No shower no bed and a 16 hour work day up next. But that’s not the best part .... as I’m a dealing with this two older white men walk in (I had reservations and gold status with Expedia) she offers them a cheaper rate and they don’t have to pay the 150$ hold.... talk a bout blatantly racist I’ll never be staying with this chain again.... still waiting for the refund by the way 🙄 🔫

My experience, was in Best Western Plus Miami Florida Biscayne Boulevard. On a Friday night late night two weeks ago today, I checked in for three nights the total came out to $764. When I woke up the next morning the young gentleman at the front desk and ran my card for multiple charges. Not only the hundred dollar deposit, but my account started with close to $1,900 and it was down to $200 if that gives you an idea of how much money they took out of my account everything was in pending I could not call my bank because it was the weekend. Then one of their lovely Associates decided she wanted to hide $700 from her boss however my bank statement showed the boss found the hidden money. Her name was Jazz she's very nice person. So not only did that ruin my whole vacation weekend here we are two weeks later and my car just got ran last night again by Best Western Plus for the amount of $624.75 and another amount of $100 and I'm not even in Miami. So here's my suggestion unless you're using cash I would never stay at this facility again. This has been a two-week long nightmare then I'm still struggling. Anyone who works as hard for their money as I do and goes on vacation only to have it completely ruined by Hotel franchise should not be in business. By the way they still charge me for the room my suggestion I would not stay there ever again

R ,

The rooms are great value; BUT the property is a dump. It promises a 100% smoke free environment but they allow everyone to smoke 24/7. The ground is covered with cigarette butts, and the open balconies are full of homeless vagrants who smoke and spit 24/7. The hotel's parking lot is full of homeless people all day long with them detailing their cars, partying and hanging out in the parking lot. Our cars were covered with trash each morning after all the partying. Loitering is permitted 7/24. There are NO signs to prevent this. Complaining to the front office was a waste of time. They asked me to act like an ADULT! People hung out outside my room door partying and smoking, and it was allowed by MANAGEMENT. I was informed that if a person is at least 6 feet away from me, then I should allow the other adult to do as they please. Signs are posted everywhere stating NO Smoking, I saw an employee smoking right in front of it, then rip the sign off the wall. Turns out that this employee lives at the hotel with his grandparents, parents and two siblings – all in one room! Employees and long term residences roll their cigarettes from discarded cigarette butts. They roll their cigarettes right in front of the OFFICE window. The hotel saved a lot of money with my three week stay as I NEVER used housekeeping to clean my room; I just changed linens and asked for supplies. Often housekeeping did not have the appropriate linens with them so I would need to go to the front desk to request my items so I could shower or use the facilities. By the way, housekeeping does not exchange or change linens immediately. They take your from your room, go launder them and then return them, if they remember, several hours later! I guess they do not have an inventory – this is ridiculous for a hotel. Right now, I can get a one room king suite at the Lawrence Welk Resort for $129 per night – I am paying $127 a night here! My daughter wants to stay in town. Due to the neighborhood, the El Cajon police visited the site on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day. A lot of fights occurred in the rooms where yelling and a lot of profanity was verbalized. Management was indifferent! They just did not care enough about their jobs or the hotel. The hotel is pet friendly and a few huge pit bulls were allowed where they fought with each other in the parking lot. Their rooms had Beware of Dogs signs because they were long term residence. Several residents have cats too! Just a comment – not a concern. Maximum pet weight is 30 pounds. The pit bull I saw for 10 days was at least 100-130 pounds. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. Parking was free. A lot of fast food restaurants within walking distance. The neighborhood is surrounding by a lot of homeless people who after dark are allowed to sleep between our cars. Poop is all over the grounds and sidewalks. I learned on day (10-11) that a lot of the guests at this hotel have lived here for years and basically they have overrun the management of the hotel. The manager informed me that she preferred guest that lived full time in the hotel instead of regular guests. She blatantly asked me to leave the hotel because she preferred the non-complainers! I contacted the Corporate Office to inform them of the issues and harassment that I have experienced and they said they could do nothing about it. They will not permit communication to anyone other than hotel staff and the hotline. They told me that there was only one of me and three of them, so they outnumbered me – so they believe the employees. I am a disabled senior citizen with a disabled grandson. Management accused me of vandalizing the hotel, when a resident of over one year (room 305) admitted that he was doing the vandalizing. I watch several employees roll cigarettes and joints right outside of the managers office. Management stated that it was acceptable! Maybe legal but my grandkids had to step over them daily. Every night, between midnight and 4 am, someone would knock on my door asked for the previous resident or to buy drugs. Management did not care. Sometimes management would knock on my door at 3 am to accuse me of making loud noises when we were actually ASLEEP! They overtook the room to investigate but found nothing. My rights were violated and well as a sound sleep. One night they called me several times over a two hour period insinuating that we had a water leak. We did not have any leaks, and they never came to the room – just called us constantly and interrupted our sleep. No cameras or security available to protect my family. If you do not mind living in filth and are on a budget, this place is for you. Hope you don't mind stepping over people and dog poop as well a noisy, crowded and filthy environment, as well as dishonest employees and management.

I stayed at the Best Western in Brigham City, UT. As the saying goes you don't get a 2nd chance to make a first impression! I have stayed at other Best Western locations, so expected a similar level of service. It is unfortunate that it was a complete disappointment to me and my wife who were celebrating our Anniversary. I overheard the front desk gal saying that all of the rooms in the entire hotel were booked to another employee! This concerns me as we are in a pandemic and they are obviously not following the guidelines set by the CDC to only sell out 50% of the rooms at a time, so they can leave a room vacant for 24 hours! In saying this I did not feel the cleanliness of my room was up to par as I was advised the maids take 20 minutes to thoroughly clean it!... I am unimpressed! I was there last month and there were young children of the employees running around up and down the halls, I asked where there parents were and were told their moms work there. Great that your boss does not care if you bring your kids, but your guests do! We simply wanted to enjoy a dinner I ordered to be delivered and watch movie in peace! There also appeared to be construction going on, so a bit on the noisy at times. Our window also had no view as it was tarped off to be painted I suppose. 3 or 4 months ago we were also there and their elevator was under construction and it appears that they just left the mess and halted the project! lugging our bags up the stairs was not so much fun, but not the worst part of our stay. The noise and lack of concern for the pandemic going on seemed to bother us the most.

Best Western Hotel Ville Marie Montreal. My wife and I have been a customer of the hotel for some years. Each year we make advance non cancel reservations for the Canadian Formula 1 race. This year, due to the Corona Virus the event has been canceled. We requested a refund since not only is the event canceled for this year, but the hotel is closed. We had hoped to use the refund to make a mortgage payment since I was now unable to work. The hotel management (Salem T) refused. He stated that he would do us a favor and keep our money for when the event is rescheduled. F1 has already stated that this event will not take place this year. How can they not offer the service and still refuse a refund. Shame on Best Western Ville Marie and Best Western hotels. Will certainly advise other friends that normally frequent this hotel for the F1 event to seek lodging elsewhere.

I am victimized by your company who give their name brand to an international branch and then claim no responsibility to help out the customer to protect its right. We had upfront paid for a hotel stay in Italy - Best Western Mediterraneo Catania and short after COVID outbreak hit Italy and we wanted a refund. They initially said they would pay the refund although it was a non-refundable rate then they took it too slow until a time came they showed Italian legislature as an excuse to refuse refunding but instead provided a voucher although I emphasized so many times that we can't make any plans to visit Italy for touristic purposes for next 12 months any more. This is basically confiscation of our 504 Euro money during an economically sensitive time where everybody is affected. Best Western US office is absolutely saying there is nothing they can do, even a simple request such as at least help modify the voucher as redeemable in US, but as simple as it is I am brushed off by the agent I just spoke on the phone. Why do they give their trade name to that hotel if that hotel will not follow Fair Trading Act ? The only reason we chose that hotel is that there was Best Western name there. Total disappointment, I am still looking for ways to get back what I own.

Pissed off customer! Houston, TX

Stayed 2 days in the Orange Inn and Suites and let me tell you, it was the WORST hotel I've been to in the entire south!! Showed up for an early check in and front desk woman was super rude and angry that we ruined her smoke break, which should not be allowed on the property! I think her name might have been Amy or Angie? The whole building smelled of mildew and mold and we seen ROACHES AND MICE in our room! The beds sucked and the pillows smelled like dirty feet! TV remote only worked half the time and they didn't even have a TV guide in the room! Then when we asked the young man during the evening what channel Fox news was on, he was nowhere to be found and finally came out from the back very sweaty and disoriented! Breakfast was nasty and that breakfast lady's attitude was even nastier! The only decent one was the tall dark haired girl, very nice and polite with excellent customer service! Only giving 2 stars for her!You can tell she loved her job! But overall, would not go back!!

Issue resolved with help of Regina and Expedia ( took 5 days of constantly being told I would not get a refund - after noticing my mistake of the wrong date and cancelling within 15 minutes) I was told by both parties of no refund. I do appreciate Regina working with Expedia to resolve the matter. I would recommend Best Western hotels except the location I booked at as that front desk lady just did not want to work and had an attitude with my elderly mother for no reason. I appreciate the stellar service Regina attempted to resolve the issue. Any postive stars are due to her and not the location itself. Best Western Plus Roswell / Alpharetta 907 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, GA, 30076 United States of America They outright suck, horrible staff especially the front desk lady that just wants your money, she does not care about anything else.

We staid in Best Western in Galveston, TX over weekend in August, 2019 for a very important family occasion . We checked out on Sunday noon, when lobby was full of quests. The front desk woman couldn't find my reservation and payment confirmation. ( it was done through hotel.com for 1 night, and directly via best western for another night). Front desk woman ( name Ebony) was absolutely rude , started blaming us that we have staying there for free, she has stated that she was going to charge us, and kick us out through the front door. When I asked to speak with her manager, she got even more verbally abusive. After 4th attempts I eventually had a chance to speak with her manager Kimberly. She found out a reservation and resolved the issues in timely manner. Ebony, the front desk came out, still being very angry with not being able to find a right payment, and right in front of her manager she called me a name using very inappropriate language. I reported the case via customers service, ( i have a case #) and Michael B, the General Manager at that hotel, responded me indirectly in 2 weeks, stating that no such event happend. Neither Ebony, nor Kimberley and a maitance man heard that word being said. No apology, no changes in staff training, no education for customer service have been done, but again I basically was accused being a lier. I choose to stay in that hotel as a guest, I paid for my stay. Unfortunately, I received poor service and was called names for my own experience.

Best western chain of lakes in Leesburg Florida. Let me start by saying I got a horrible sinus and ear infection for over a month from staying in this hotel. We were displaced from our home for a month due to a flood and to make things worse we had to stay in this god awful hotel. The shower curtain smelled sour. I told them several times and was told they would change it which they never did. All they did was spray to with some very nasty smelling deodorizer that smelled like cheap cologne and as soon as the smell was gone the sour smell came back. The air conditioning filter was black. When I told them about it all they did was remove it and not replace it. If I had been paying for this room I would have never checked in. I don’t recommend that you stay here and I will never again.

Even the government is run better than these people. I know from experience. I booked my hotel & when I got there they didn't have it. I had to wait 1.5 hours to get it sorted out. They gave me a downgraded room & I was supposed to be happy that I wasn't getting charged extra for it (they made me pay extra initially & reimbursed the difference). About 2 weeks later, they billed me again. I called them & their incompetence is unbelievable. They just said they don't know what to do about it & tried to get me to be okay with them stealing my money. I've yet to be reimbursed for the money they stole & now wasted about 2 hours of my time with their issues, without even a coupon or anything, just a be happy that we're not stealing more from you. What a freaking joke.

My family and I booked three rooms for three nights at the best Western in Pickerington Ohio. The second day we were at midnight we were threatened and told to leave or get another room We had small children with us and a baby under a year old with down syndrome. At no time were we ever told there was a room limit Nor was it posted on their website when we made reservations. End it was not posted on the back of the room door. Now to be fair if we had been asked to leave during the daytime because we were overcapacity is one thing but being asked to leave or either in another room at midnight is atrocious!!! Never have my family and I been so horrifically treated and never again will i my family and as many people as I can share this story with will stay at a best Western!

Best Western Plus Dallas Hotel & Conference Center 8051 Lyndon B Johnson Freeway Dallas, Texas 75251 United States I was able to get 6 rooms for our family to stay in so that we could see my husband graduate. Unfortunately, in two of those rooms our family got bit up by bed bugs. The manager there at the time John H informed us we could have 2 free nights to stay in any Best Western since we did not want to stay at that particular location because of the incident. Since we did not know when we would use those nights they gave us POINTS that would never expire supposedly to give us two free nights. Well, we just tried to use those points only to find out that they would not honor what they have told us. This particular location did not even have a record of the incident, but corporate did and informed the current manager Adam of it. Well, Adam still decided not to honor what was said simply because he said it is under new management, and had nothing to do with him. That was just handled very poorly, and we got nothing for all our troubles.

Too dog friendly. Used to stay with Best Western often. Their dog policy makes it difficult to find accommodations that I find acceptable. One room I was assigned had so much overlooked dog hair that I went to manager and insisted he view the mess. I stayed in another room that night but I will never go back to that Best Western again. I love animals but I don’t want to sleep in their mess. Most rooms are not cleaned deeply and only get a light touch up. Not enough after a pet stay. Not to mention how uncomfortable it is with allergies. Disgusting trend to allow animals, unfortunately, many do. I will stay elsewhere at every opportunity.

We slept well but customer service for checking in was unexpected. After 6 calls a girl answers but left us on hold, we decided to book online. Upon arrival, no girl insight, a guy comes up and then tge unexpected, hi guys, how can i help you? (Me)I have a reservation. Sorry i dont any reservationsfir youll ( were standing in the center and his computer is about 3 feet to his left), and i told him i have reservation under ( my name ) and he replied again, i dont have any reservations for you or in my computer', so i put my phone with my reservation number in his face( about 5) and then hecwalked to computer and said ok, repeated my phone number, never asked for id just if i was paying with card on file, yes made keys and said have a good evening. Racist prople gave no business working customer service, especially hotels or restuarants cause they will face all types of races. We been doing reviews all week, you just never know whos coming to visit after reading reviews, could be another corporate officer. I hope this is a lesson learned for Best Western Matamoras, PA. We should not have an employee like the 2 working around 10 pm on the 23rd of October.

We tried to reserve a room for Tuesday through Getaway. They had trouble with the credit card I used at first so after two tries I was able to reserve a room using another credit card. We only get one processed confirmation email at that point, and when we checked in on Tuesday the hotel gave us exactly one room because again, only one reservation was processed. However on Wednesday morning, around 9:30 am, we got two confirmation emails saying that the order has been processed. We immediately went to the front desk and they told me that they just recieved two reservations for me. The two reservations were again, for Tuesday night - Wednesday morning. The check out time is 11am and the reservations were processed on 9am. And I noticed the money was taken out for additional two reservations. We asked them to cancel the order and they said whey would but since this does not under the cancellation policy they want me to call Getaway immediately so they will have their manager talk to Getaway. So we called to Getaway and they say they will call Best western. After we checked out the hotel, we recieved the email from Getawaya saying they couldn't give me the refund because the manager does not approve the cancellation. I mean why don't you approve! The room was reserved two hours before check out time. It is obviously a mistake. We never used the room and they didn't have to save it for us. So why not approve! So I only needed one room but instead, money for three rooms were taken out from the card. And they wont give me the refund.

Manager refused to print out receipt for me. He said printer problems and would email. When I drove home (250 miles away) I got receipt and saw a fee of $50 claiming I smoked in the room. I haven't smoked my entire life and asked manager how he came to that conclusion. All he would say was that the room smelled like smoke. No other evidence. Even when corporate headquarters called him to negotiate at my request, manager stood by his claim. I WILL NEVER STAY AT A BEST WESTERN AGAIN! NOT EVER!!!

If I could give zero, I would. We were charged $195 for what amounted to a $39 motel. There was mold, leaky plumbing, peeling paint, and a stench that could best be described as a combination of dirty socks, hound dog and mold. Truly disgusting. Customer service is a joke! This wasn’t a tourist town or high volume travel spot. It was a small town in Pennsylvania. This hotel was truly a dump, Best western’s offer was a $25 travel card?? Really. Do they think I’d stay at another one?

We found the Lake George Best Western totally unsatisfactory. The staff was rude. Items promised were not present ( microwave, pool view, lake view ). Breakfast room was overcrowded and covid unsafe. Indoor pool had a layer of greasy film on it. Formal complaint to guest relations has not been responded to. We did not receive the gift certificates promised for each night stay.

Best Western Laconia has unacceptable business practices, I had a reservation, did an online confirmation that I needed to check in late and when I arrived they had given my room away and marked me as a no show even though I had a email conformation from their website showing I confirmed. The charged me a no show fee, and are refusing to refund me, I did not no show and in fact had confirmed and did not get a room. I will not be doing business with this company again.

Our stay at the Best Western in Macomb, IL will not get a good review. The carpets were dirty, hardware on the chest of drawers was missing, the bath/shower faucet had pink slime in the fixture. I asked for wakeup service which never happened. We were there for 3 nights. The first two nights we were charged $104.99 plus tax and the third night we were charged $149.99 because the town had Heritage Days. This was price gauging. I would think twice before booking this hotel.

Milford, Ms Our 3-day.May stay was highlighted by 1) no breakfast at all due to "supplier issues" 2)arbitrary skipping of room cleaning without notice 3) atmosphere was negative. Lobby and check-in empty and depressing. This hotel was obviously still trying to cash in Covid. Also we sent a letter to Best Western corporate and got some off the shelf apology. Never again for us

We use BW about 5/6 times a year, last was this past weekend in Mulberry FL. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE, smelly, tolit running all night, rude, coffee machine broken, "go to your room and make it " was heard by the dozen people that showed up for breakfast, eggs, biscuits and gravy, COLD. Never again for us, and maybe several other senior ball players that were there, hate to see this happen with one very bad experience.

Workers were very rude. They did not give us privacy. Every other hour, worker would come to our room, checking up on us out of all the rooms there was. We were quiet and respectful to him. He was giving us attitude for no reason. We were trying to have a fun night, and they ruined it. Will never come back again. I’ll let my friends/family know. Do not recommend to anyone.

Booked several rooms for a Conference in St. Cloud, MN and the rooms were dirty, mold, fruit flies and had an odor in all! Will never stay in this hotel again until they make some renovations to this hotel! Several others part of our Conference had the Same issues! Many many unhappy people over the last 3 nights. Front desk did nothing to compensate us

My company rented 11 rooms at the Best Western Hill house in Bakersfield, CA and it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Everyone of us had the same experience. Our stay was 6/10/19 through 6/15/19 and it was 100 + degrees everyday. The air conditioner is on a sensor that turns it off when you leave the room, the water barely gets hot enough to take a shower, one of our trucks was broken into the first night there and the parking lot is a nightmare, 1 way in and 1 way out. DO NOT stay here.

We checked in at the Best Western Miami and was told the only way to get in was to go to the back of the building and come in thru the employee entrance because they handicapped entrance is broken and has been for DAYS!! We asked for a handicapped room with an Ocean View and well they don't have any either. If you're handicapped you can get a partial view and that's it. My husband has Parkinson's and because of his condition this will probably be our last vacation and this is what we get

I hate whenever my husband books us at a Best Western. I'm known in my family as a clean freak, and those places never seem very clean. While it has been many (around 25) years, there was one time I threw back the covers and found bugs. I freaked out and we went somewhere else. I have gone back out of necessity, but it was literally the last option.

Dirty filthy. Carpets everywhere were dirty and weren’t vacuumed at all while we were there. Dirty floors all around the pool. Connection to watch movies on tv wouldn’t work. Had to get the heater reset before it would work. Kids were constantly jumping in purposely slashing people. Stayed before and loved it this time not so much

The staff are very rude, the room was still dirty when we got it, and they charged us extra for being 15 minutes late for check out. Honestly the worst experience with hotels I've had, the only upside was the subway inside of the hotel, other then that this hotel is horrible

Merrillville, IN location is absolutely FILTHY!!!!!!! Room stinks, stains on the curtains, rugs, blood stains on the sheets, absolutely disgusting!!!!!!! Only gave one star because I had to. The manager should be ashamed of herself and her representation of the hotel!!!!!!

One night stay. Booked with points but received a bill with obscure overcharges for $45.99. Hotel unable to issue a correct folio but keeps sending comical automated messages that ignore the matter completely. The contact function on the BW app does not work either. A complete zoo.

Your best western over charge my stay for extra day. 1st day 99.00 needed extra day. 214.00 over charge without telling me . I’ll never stay at a best western again, for ripping me off. Best western college station max. Rip off was smooth.

Awakened all 3 nights of stay by lobby TV and staff refused to turn it down. "Non smoking" room smelled like cigarettes and feet. I know it's never been cleaned properly, as the cobwebs everywhere will attest. A dump with rude staff and small around terrible experience. Close to hospital for wife's surgery, but I should have slept in car.

Best western has the worst customer service! A location under their ownership, The Illinois Beach Hotel, stole a $1,500 deposit from our postponed wedding, after the location shutdown. I spoke with Ester from BW Customer Service, who provided the worst customer care in the business and was zero help in resolving our stolen funds.

Everything was great but the breakfast was not set up by 6:30. The waffles were done by 6:40. At 6:50 I asked for regular coffee she said it was in the back. At 7 I thought she was going to get it but instead she brought out more bisquits and then went back to the front desk. I left. This was in luling, Texas

On 9/21 I stayed at your BW Plus in Winston Salem, NC. It was the worst night of my life!!! I was put in a very nice room next to the ice machine. It was in use all night long. When I checked out I told clerk I would appreciate a discount . She handed me my invoice with $151.00 . No discount. Worst $151.00 I have ever spent!!

Best Western has been the biggest disappointment in hotel stays that I have ever had. My husband and brother both got sick from staying at their hotel in Gastonia, NC. It was a nightmare because we were moving into our new home the next day. I had to hire two men to help me move into our house and had to put my husband on a mattress upstairs while we moved our belongings in. He was so severely sick. This was the second time we stayed at a Best Western and the first time it was dirty and gross. We will never stay at Best Western again if we can avoid it.

Bad experience & we wouldn’t return. Woken up at 330am because of noise (hen party) - laughing, talking, knocking on doors etc - went in for about 1.5 hours then woken up by other noise.

I have stayed at Best Western several times, it is a very cheap place, but the one's I have been to were pretty subpar. Not a place I would stay at for fun or for an extended period of time.
