Had to fly home for a family emergency this past year....the whole experience was awesome!! the flight was on time and due to all the conviences on board the 10 hour flight flew by. When flying home and where available...i will always fly Hawaiian Airlines.

Usually a great airline and flight but yesterday was a little anxious. Flight HA 25 from HNL to PDX was assigned a gate when I pre printed my boarding passes. When arriving from inter island flight there was only one reader board saying gate change also the reader board changed so quickly it was hard to follow. It did say a gate change to 31. We went to that gate but wasn't allowed near the gate since an international flight was leaving from there. Again the PDX flight wasn't listed on any reader boards in that terminal. The closest restaurant/bar was packed and that terminal wasn't easy to get to. No charging stations near the gate except on the floor with an electrical outlet. It was a change away from the eateries at the usual terminal that we have always gone through. Flight was good.

My family and I flew to Oahu from Portland, OR on Hawaiian Airlines and had the best flight! The flight staff were very helpful and courteous. The flight itself was smooth and had one of the smoothest landings ever. I would recommend HA to anyone!

I love Hawaiian Airlines! The crew, the seats, the clean planes, everything, thus a 9! Only thing that needs work are the rates as they are just too much for frequent travelers especially inter island. One other thing that I find not ok...I travel very frequently (twice a week) with Hawaiian and have a Platinum Status. I have many friends who work for the airlines and receive a first class upgrade on a frequent basis...just because. I think that upgrading the 'paying' customers should be the priority.

We flew HA last year for son's wedding. When making reservations for Maui for Jan. 2016, I was encouraged to take out a HA Credit card. Talking with the Barclays man, he told me about the 40,000 miles we would get and the 1/2 off companion fare for our flight. We talked about what a good deal it was for my husband and me as we had gotten a $400.00 HA gift certificate for Christmas. So I took out the CC and charged $1000.00 in the first 3 months. Then I called to make reservations and found that you can not use the gift certificate and also get the 1/2 off Companion fare. The credit card man should have known the rules. So now we probably will not be able to use the 1/2 off fare as we're in our 70's and will probably not go again to Hawaii. We do like the meals on Hawaiian and the staff are always great. We would like to have WiFi.

We go to Hawaii, every year. The airline is great no complaints. The flight attendants , go out of their way to make sure you have just about anything you ask for. the movie selection is up to date, and its the only airline that serves food.

I have enjoyed the professionalism of service that I received from Hawaiian Air Lines. I took five trips from the Mainland (California) in the 70's. I am glad I did since marrying plus enjoying my last trip to Maui on our honeymoon in 1980. Hawaiian Airlines is a great memory for me because of the great airline staff who were there for me with all my questions about the Islands. I miss the pineapple juice, YUM, I also felt so safe flying on your airline. I am looking forward to visiting the Big Island real soon.

We find that prices for flying inter-island seem outrageous. Medical specialists are usually found on Oahu so if a local doctor recommends a specialist the patient has to pay high fees just for the one-day trip; there should be low fees for locals who have to make these trips. Otherwise Hawaiian is my favorite airlines. The crew is outstanding, especially in helping disabled people (which I am).

Hawaiian Airlines is, and has always been, my favorite airline. We lived in Hawaii for many years and moved to the Mainland nine years ago. We fly, at least, once per month. I did not know how spoiled I was but now....I just miss Hawaiian Airlines. Aloha!!

Not having wi-fi is no problem. Kinda nice to have those few hours no one can get in touch with me. I can start relaxing for my vacation on Hawaiian Air.

I always fly Hawaiian when I visit the islands, usually 2-5 x a year from the mainland, I always recommend to friends that visit the islands to fly Hawaiian, they always treat you well, have a nice Ohana spirit, and they serve food and drinks, flights have always been pleasant and almost always are on time

Flying Hawaiian Airlines, I think their the best. Our flight was on time, the flight attendants where friendly. We traveled from Honolulu to Hilo on the big island, and the flight for me was pretty fast. The cost was worth every penny, and when we flew back, it was just as fast. Thanks Hawaiian Airlines! Aloha, love Hawaiian Airlines, I fly it every year when I go visit my sister and nieces in Maui. I tried American and Delta but the seats were very tight, plus Hawaiian offers free meals but besides that they are very friendly and offer great service. I will always fly Hawaiian Airlines when traveling to Hawaii.

It is a bit different from the days when I first started flying. From the mainland to the Islands it was so Hawaiian spirit and all our stuff was free to travel with us. But the people never changed, are sill the sweetest crews ever. Wish they would revert to the great Hawaiian experience, I would pay more for it.

For many years, my husband and I have been flying, whenever possible, on Hawaiian's direct flights to WA to see our grandchildren. Since we are both retired and on fixed incomes now, we are pleased when we can use our Hawaiian Miles. We have also chosen the extra comfort seats three times now and have been extremely happy with more leg room and early boarding privileges. It's great that we still are served meals. Mahalo!

The only detraction is their internet booking service & the vacation travel agency they use...customer service is not their strong suit. Hawaiian Air is the only airline we would choose to fly to the islands. Super friendly flight attendants, Hawaiian music playing, comfortable seats, good entertainment. We've flown other airlines a couple of times but once we flew on Hawaiian, it's the only airline for us!

We've flown Hawaiian Air many times in the past and usually have had good service but our last few flights, we've encountered the dreaded 'attitude issue towards haoles' from a couple of the flight attendants. Having lived in the islands for almost 20 years, I am well aware of this issues and it can show up in travel industry business when the locals seem to forget who's probably paying their salaries with this revenue - they seem to feel it's beneath them to 'serve haoles' and it wasn't just us who noticed this on our last flights. To me it's just sad that people who may be coming to the islands for the one and only time in their life, experience this negative behavior. If you don't enjoy the job you've chosen, go work some place else where you don't interact with tourists and make everyone happy.

I only fly Hawaiian to Hawaii there is no other way to go. The customer service is great from the check-in, boarding the plane, boarding the aircraft, while in flight, and exiting the plane. The best customer service all around. Makes me wish Hawaiian flew everywhere. They should give other airlines lessons.

FLight 55 LAXOGG July 29, 2015 Reservation - wanted to use miles for upgrade and was quoted 50,000 miles one-way per person! YIKES, I didn't want to buy the plane! Staff at LAX check in - there were problems with the baggage check in kiosks and non were working. It took them a while to get us help as 2 agents on the far end that worked the service lines had no one in front of them and they were just standing around, one gal finally came and helped. The agent at the counter was very pleasant to a gal whose bag was 59 pounds and suggested she remove some items otherwise there would be a fee. Most airlines are not friendly about this, but he was professional. Gate - apparently, no signs as to where the line starts so we just followed the crowd. As we got closer to the front there were some rude directions given by the gate agents on where the line forms, but by this time the gate area was congested. One gate agent chewing gum. Not professional. Flight - First pass on drinks, plane did not have any rum. (I guess all supplies are loaded up in Hawaii for a roundtrip so the flight going back only has what is left). Sage our flight attendant handled the situation professionally. Loved the free meal and wine in coach. Inflight entertainment system pretty cool too. We were on the Airbus. Got hit in the arm numerous times by food and drink cart.

Only flew Hawaiian between islands before. Recently took Hawaiian to Australia and they were great! They actually act like you are a guest on their plane and give you a meal and drinks,and snacks. We fly Delta from,east coast to Hawaii and are lucky to get a snack and a drink, we get to buy a cold sandwich!

Hawaiian Airlines doesn't have a point to prove. They don't need to. The staff on board is friendly and eager to please. The cost is lower than the other airlines that serve HI and Phoenix, AZ. I prefer being treated by attendants that like what they do. The planes are wonderful; not the older, worn out stuff that other airlines use (this obtained from staff on "other airlines" that serve HI from AZ. Thank you for all that you do, HI Airlines.

Our flights to, from, and inbetween the islands were great. The attendants were friendly and helpful. We loved being able to choose our seats, and the extra comfort seats included a pillow, blanket, and wine with our meals in addition to the extra legroom and free movies. Bonus! Whether or not we ever accrue enough miles to get a free flight, we are glad we chose Hawaiian Airlines!

Hawaiian is the only airline I fly when travelling to and from the mainland. I like that they have their own hub. I've never had a baggage problem. I do wish that I didn't have to rent a tablet for $17 but could just watch movies since no wifi. I also like that their meals get me prepared for my vacations. I feel like i'm in Hawaii as soon as I get on the plane. That's pretty awesome.

Hawaiian Airlines employees are great. They have much aloha. However, as a corporation and service provider they have gone from being a kama'aina carrier to a big international competitor. As a result, HA has lost much of its charm and is not particularly service oriented to the needs of the people who use them the most: the residents of Hawaii. They charge anywhere from $30-50 to change flights to a different time inter-island when at the airport and even more if you do it ahead of time. I have always thought of HA as flying taxi's in Hawaii and really, that is what they are and they have the monopoly. There is opportunity for much improvement but we shall see if the business model will change to reflect this anytime soon.

They also are the only airline I know is left that gives you a meal (of sorts) on the plane. I also have a Hawaiian Air charge card...but I don't get a trip every year, only a 50% off companion fare.

I am really nervous flying and flying over the ocean did not help any. I got medicine from my doctor just in case. Hawaiian Airlines helped so much to calm my fears. They also had machines to watch movies and such to help pass the time. I fly Hawaiian Airlines every time now.

United paid our meals & drinks at the restaurant, fog cleared, radar fixed, voila,Honolulu bound. The minute you are on their plane, you feel like you are in Hawaii. Only a few negatives. The biggest one was that they took my frequent flier miles away after only 18 months. 18 months is not long enough to accrue, then book a flight. The second is that on a connecting flight from Kauai our flight was delayed like 6 hours but the terminal we were in the only thing to eat was vending machines.

The wife and I have traveled to Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines eleven times in the last eleven years. They are by far the best airline we have flown on. The only complaint that I have is they have slowed down the flights, to save fuel I assume. We will continue to fly with Hawaiian in the future. In fact we have already booked our next trip.

We have flown with Hawaiian several times and have no complaints about the flight itself. The food is decent, seats are comfortable and the onboard staff is great. Where I have an issue is the charges for baggage being checked. How can you travel anywhere without taking a bag? Everyone should get one free checked bag! Also, we had to make a change last trip which required one member to leave HI a couple days early. Because of that we were unable to check in at their kiosk and had to wait in a long line to check in and change seats. My biggest gripe is their policy on price reductions. We had booked our trip months in advance. About 3 weeks before our trip the fare dropped over $150 each! When I called them they said there would be a $100 charge each to change the price, so now it's only a $50 savings per person and that $50 is NOT credited back towards the ticket price, you are issued a voucher that can only be used by the person who it's issued to and the entire amount has to be used all at once. So each of us could only apply $25 towards our checked bag and the remainder of the voucher went up in smoke! So out of $450 we only got to save $75...what a ripoff!!

We love Hawaiian Airlines! We have flown with them many times. We will be flying with them again in Sept. Last year we traveled with 12 family members including two 18 month old babies. The staff was great and very helpful with seating etc. I do wish they would rethink baggage fees, but I guess its a sign of the times. The aircraft are comfortable and much less crampted than other airlines we have flown on. We enjoy the meals as well.
