Duolingo was a good website, but it didn't help me improve in the language that I was learning. They started sending me reminders, but they stopped after a while which made me forget to do my studying.

I have taken many language classes and this app in my opinion teaches you the essentials faster and better than both the classes and other language services.

I liked Duolingo because it made it easy for you to get a streak and only have to do it for about 10 minutes a day, however I feel as if they don't teach you how to actually speak fluently.

Pretty good program for refreshing a language learned in high school. I don’t know if it would work that well for learning a first time language.

Simple to use the app, I learned a lot of words and syntax. Only gripe is that if you have some competency, it takes forever to skip to that level

Doulingo teaches a lot of vocabulary, but not as much grammar or sentence structure. It is a fun intro into any language that you want to learn. Real or fake haha

I used DuoLingo once to brush up on my Spanish. I think it could be useful for someone learning the language from scratch, but I really had a hard time using it.

I did exactly one week of Duolingo. It was not engaging and I didn't feel like I was learning much. I also know people who have been doing it for years, have huge streaks, but still can't speak the language at all.

It's alright. It's good for teaching basic vocabulary, but it doesn't teach you grammar and composition, which is really important. It does the bare minimum.
