They have every language possible to learn. They start off with the basics and work their way up to harder levels. They give you time to get things right.

Makes learning a language less daunting and more like a game. The notifications can become annoying and disheartening if you miss too many days in a row.

There is quite a bit lost in pursuit of simplicity. It’s fine for learning Latin/Germanic languages but doesn’t teach alphabet or pronunciation very well for other languages.

I like that it gives the basics of a language. I just have a hard time transitioning from the app to real life so I feel like the actual application of the skills isn't great.

Duolingo is fun and keeps you motivated to learn a language and keep practicing. Nonetheless, when a user stops using Duolingo, there are countless notifications at least 4 to 5 times a day. Very annoying and distracting.
