GiftTree, as its name suggests, is a gift basket company with a goal of turning ordinary gifting moments into extraordinary ones. Since its founding in 1997, GiftTree has been a top choice among customers because of GiftTree's high-quality, hand-chosen gifts.

GiftTree operates from its headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. However, because of its other locations in Austin, Texas, and Charlotte, North Carolina, the company can offer two-day ground shipping to most areas within the United States. GiftTree also provides a full line of services to corporations and businesses, providing companies with personal business service representatives to simplify the business gift buying experience.

The Good

  • Available Gift Baskets
  • Filter by Price, Occasion, and Gift Type
  • Place an Online Order 24/7
  • Extensive FAQ

Available Gift Baskets

GiftTree offers plenty of basket options for consumers — no matter the occasion.

Customers can choose from the following options:

  • Gift Baskets
  • Wine Gift Baskets
  • Champagne Gift Baskets
  • Fruit Gift Baskets
  • Personalized Gifts
  • Business Gifts
  • Flower Bouquets
  • Cheese and Charcuterie
  • Wine and Champagne Crates
  • Gift Towers

Depending on the type of basket ordered, the contents will vary. However, customers can expect that a fruit basket will contain fresh fruit that was "picked and arranged by hand."

Wine baskets generally have wine, wine glasses, chocolate, and a complimentary note card with a personal message.

Filter by Price, Occasion, and Gift Type

GiftTree has so many options that it can be a little overwhelming for consumers. To make it easier, consumers can narrow down their choices by selecting a filter. The filter allows customers to shop by price, occasion, and gift type.

Filtering the baskets by price is simple; customers can select from the following options:

  • Gifts Under $50
  • Gifts $50–$100
  • Gifts $100–$200
  • Gifts Over $200

Filtering baskets by occasion is also fairly simple; customers can choose from the following occasions:

  • Birthday
  • Thank You
  • Congratulations
  • Anniversary
  • Get Well
  • New Baby
  • Sympathy

Customers can also order gift baskets based on holidays, such as Mother’s Day, Easter, Christmas, and more.

Place an Online Order 24/7

Consumers can order a GiftTree gift basket 24/7.

If a customer orders a flower or balloon basket before 2:00 p.m. (Monday–Friday) in the recipient's time zone, they can get same-day delivery.

For a Saturday delivery, customers will need to place their order by 12:00 p.m. in the recipient's time zone the Friday before.

Sunday delivery is available in most areas if the order is placed before 12:00 p.m. (recipient's time zone) the Friday before. If GiftTree cannot fulfill the Sunday order, the company will contact customers by phone or email and arrange an alternative delivery date.

Orders placed after 2:00 p.m. (recipient's time zone) will be delivered the next available day.

Keep in mind that fruit baskets are not available for Sunday delivery.

Extensive FAQ

GiftTree's frequently asked questions page is full of helpful information. The company does its best to answer each question thoroughly and include all the details. This is especially helpful to customers who don't want to or don't have time to call or email the company to ask questions.

The Bad

  • Common Complaints
  • Shipping Limitations
  • Returns
  • Service Charge
  • Limited Customer Service Hours

Common Complaints

The most common complaints against GiftTree have to do with the company not delivering their products on the expected delivery date and the baskets not looking like what was initially ordered.

While GiftTree does warn customers about both of these things on the website, it is frustrating for customers to order something and not have it arrive on time and not look as they expected it too. Several customers also complained that GiftTree's customer service team often knew little about why the products weren’t reaching the recipients and offered no solutions.

Shipping Limitations

While GiftTree tries to get all baskets out and delivered by their specified delivery date, that doesn't always happen. The company explains, "Ground shipping* does not ensure delivery on a specific date. It can take up to seven business days to deliver your gift depending on the destination and time of year (delivery times during the holiday season are typically longer)."

Customers will need to select two-day or three-day shipping to ensure their delivery is delivered by the end of the selected date. Gift Tree warns customers that they'll need to choose Overnight Delivery via UPS or FedEx in their shopping cart to guarantee a specific delivery date.

Returns and Substitutions

Customers cannot return fresh products (flowers, fruit, plants, balloons, trees, and fresh food gift baskets), perishable, personalized, and fragile items. If a product doesn't meet expectations, all products are covered by the GiftTree Guarantee.

Consumers should also know that GiftTree makes an effort to ensure that its products resemble the ones featured on the website. However, depending on the growing season, it is not always possible. In rural areas of the United States, particular flowers (exotic or tropical) may not be available. Keep in mind that the website states that "GiftTree reserves the right to substitute flowers of like color, appearance, and value."

Service Charge

The flower, balloon, and fruit baskets include a service charge fee — this is the same as the delivery fee. Customers should be aware that any additional fees or charges will depend on the gift basket.

The service charge per item for balloon bouquets and floral arrangements is $17.95. The service charge per item for fruit baskets is $19.95.

Limited Customer Service Hours

While customers can order a gift basket online 24/7, GiftTree's customer service line is only available Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (PST). This is slightly inconvenient as not all customers will be able to call within these hours.

Additionally, if a customer wants to order a gift basket over the phone, they will have to call within the given customer service time frame.

GiftTree is also closed on weekends and on New Year's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

The Bottom Line

GiftTree is certainly a good option for those looking to send a memorable gift. GiftTree’s baskets are unique and a great present for any holiday, event, or occasion. The company offers next-day and same-day shipping options for those who want their gift to reach their loved one by a certain date. If you are looking to send a unique gift that is sure to make your loved ones smile, GiftTree is a solid option.

Although there are a number of complaints against the company, there are a few consumers who had no problems and highly recommend GiftTree. We recommend consumers look into GiftTree’s shipping and returns policy, as many customers have complained that their gift did not reach its recipient in time and the customer service team gave no explanation as to why.

Ordered most Expensive version of gourmet gift basket with high-end items and when the basket arrived it was filled with the cheapest low-end version of each item! Plus the basket was packaged with 2 bottles of white wine instead of the requested Red. This was a work anniversary gift for a beloved, amazing assistant and, despite her insistence that she really did love SALTINES and STRING CHEESE (replacements for Parmesan-Rosemary Toasts and gourmet cheese), with the individually wrapped but connected string cheese sticks having been torn into Single sticks and strewn about the package, it was extremely Disappointing and embarrassing. Customer Service apologized and explained that the images on their website or a suggestion to the local stores and that they had no way of knowing what would actually be delivered. I will never order from them again.

Brenda, I am so sorry. String cheese and Saltines are never appropriate items for a gourmet gift baskets. I would of been disappointed and embarrassed also, and I am so sorry we are the ones who put you through that. I would like if you could please email me your order # or the email you used when ordering to . I would like to look into this a little bit more.

Thank you,

Because the e-mail i received stated i would get either $10 off or free shipping, but when i placed my order online for a basket that was on sale for $10 off, the final review showed it at full price. So i called customer service & that gal gave me a $10 off coupon to make up the difference, which i applied to my order. In the end; however, i didn't get the original $10 off so i called customer service again (when i realized the error). That gal told me that i was only entitled to receive $10 off the original price - for example, she said, if an item was $6 off the additiona $4 (to total $10) would be deducted on the final review. I protested that was wrong and she reiterated that the sale price was the $10 off mentioned in the e-mail i'd received. That's not right as far as i'm concerned - if you send me an e-mail that says i will get $10 off, and when i click the link it directs me to a web page that has some items on sale (for varying amounts) that is VERY MISLEADING! If that's the way you do business, i will use another gift basket company. I had even recommended your site to a friend right after i placed my order, but will be sure to let her and others know how misleading your company is.,

Hi Deena,
I'm very sorry for any upset! It is never our intention to cause such a poor ordering experience. You should be excited about picking out a great gift for your family at a wonderful price. I do know that many of our wonderful emailed deals will automatically reflect any discounted rate on the website if you follow the link from your email. I'd be happy to look into this and make sure we apply the best price possible for your gift. Please reach me at and reference which email subject you had received when shopping for your gifts this holiday!

I ordered a $90 basket of fruit only because the recipient has a severe gluten allergy. I was there when it was delivered and was shocked. The only way I can describe it is ugly. There was only 3 fruits vs the gorgeous variety in the photo.the bananas were green with brown crusty scabs& the apples were all small red delicious. The basket was cheap wo a beautiful bow (as pictured). I could live with all that but it was stuffed with candy and other sweets that were not gluten free. I sent the company a photo and they were shocked at the size & quality of the basket. They offered me 30% off to send another basket or a 50% refund. FYI I have never made a complaint before this one.

The gift failed to deliver to the recipient and I was not helped despite several attempts at contacting customer service. I received a notice saying not only will the gift not be delivered, I would be charged extra shipping to ship it back to the warehouse, then the warehouse couldn't accept it so they would charge me extra shipping to mail it to my billing address. The gift never showed up to me. Lots of $ wasted.

Review especially for the one in the North Texas area...The fruit basket was laughable. It came in a very cheap basket different from one pictured, containing 4 SALTY snacks (pretzels, gold fish, meat sausage, and something that was forgettable). The only fruits in it were (4) oranges (4) and apples, the cheapest of all fruits. A "big" teddy bear that I added to the purchase was of the size of 2 arms put together, oh my. They also never responded to my respectful email inquiring about their returns policy

Placed first order with the company on 02/19/18. Recipient notified me that they never received the gift. Rosa looked into it and found out the order was refused at the warehouse. Placed another order on 11/02/18. Recipient notified me that the pears were bad. Tiffany apologized and sent out a replacement basket. Was notified that this time the oranges where not good. 2 out of 2 experiences were bad so I will not be ordering from this company in the future.

Hi Kerri,
I agree that this is not right! You definitely are due your monies for any item not received, and we also feel awful about the item not being in stock. Should the gift be replenished, I'd love to see about sending that to your loved one at a discounted rate or confirming that your cancellation and full refund have been issued to your account. Whichever you chose, we apologize for these issues and hope to win your trust back! Please reach me at with your order number or phone number on file if I can assist with this from here.

The delivery was late and I was given nothing but excuses about why the package couldn''t be forwarded, including a BS line about a sealed bottles of wine not being able to be shipped. I called UPs and confirmed it could, and I had it shipped. I will never ever recommend Gift Tree for anything. It was an expensive lesson.

This is the worst company to order anything from. I placed this order 3 weeks ago to be delivered on August 27 for my sister's birthday and now I find out you don't even know when it will be delivered. How can you trust a company that can't even ensure deliveries are made? I talked to you customer service and they offered no compensation for this fiasco except to say sorry.... You can believe that I will never be ordering from this company with this kind of non caring customer service. And I will be posting a review of your company as well to warn others of your uncaring company and non delivery as scheduled with an " Oh well' attitude. I'm very disappointed. Looks like I will be a first time and last time customer

The flowers sent were tacky. They use other florist throughout the country so it is just best to call a local florist in that city so you know what you are getting. I was so embarrassed by the flowers sent. Only half the amount of flowers that were in the original picture and it was sent in this tacky gold spray painted vase. I understand they are not going to be exactly like the picture in many cases but the amount of flowers, quality and colors should be similar. They did not deliver in the time frame I requested. I am giving them one star because they customer service reps were nice but the product is not worth the money spent.

NOT HAPPY!! I ordered a gift basket as a gesture for a friend who’s been under the weather. The basket arrived with all the contents packed in the basket. As I was arranging the items I found the Ginger & Lime Luxury Hand Cream, and a small cloth/towel (pictured when I ordered) were not included. The Loofah Bath Sponge was a cheap sponge with twine mesh covering it. It shouldn’t be used in the shower/bath, due to the twine shedding everywhere. Overall, I felt the basket was not worth $100, nor the additional shipping cost to have it delivered within two days. Very disappointed. Will not be using this service in the future.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The customer service was by far the worst I have EVER received. I ordered a gift basket that contained alcohol which requires a signature upon delivery. Once informed of this I called customer service to verify that the shipping company would leave a tag as the recipient may not be home when they try to deliver. This was a wedding gift I am wanted it to be delivered before the wedding. I was told that they ALWAYS leave a tag. So I decide to use the regular shipping (not Saturday delivery). Two attempts were made and no tag was left. I called customer service and was then told that UPS NEVER leaves a tag, which I know is not true. Then I end up speaking with a supervisor who then tells me it is up to UPS to leave a tag or not. When I explain that the I based my shipping off what the first person assured me of I was told it was an oversight and it would be AT MY COST to get the item delivered on Saturday which was over $50.00. Also the item had to be sent back and then re-sent since they use Fed-ex for Saturday delivery and UPS for everything else. Now my wedding gift is going to be over a week late and I am told I have to pay the extra charge to get it there on a Saturday. I ask if I can just cancel the order and I am told I can but I will still have to pay for the personalized flutes. Keep in mind these only have the first initial so I am SURE they can be re-used. After and hour of pleading my case with the supervisor I am told they will cover half of the $50.00 Saturday delivery charge. Which is in fact mostly their surcharge on the shipping anyways. I was lied to and then it was a bait and switch. They should have paid for the Saturday shipping since this was clearly their error but they would not budge. All in all I will NEVER EVER use this company again. Simple customer service goes a long way and they totally missed the mark. Don't let this company take your money as you will never get what you paid for and more than likely end up paying more for less. Update Notice that none of the reply discussed the lying and the complete bait and switch you tried on me. Eventually a supervisor, who was unable to fix any of these issues, canceled the whole order and hung up on me. After weeks of headache and dissatisfaction I was left with nothing and I am still waiting on my full refund...NOTE TO ALL BEWARE OF THIS DECEITFUL COMPANY

We are very saddened that the delivery difficulties caused such an upsetting experience. I've reviewed this order and found that the delivery was attempted on the date requested for the delivery, and again on the next business day. With this containing wine, there was no one home during these attempts to sign for the package. UPS generally does leave a door tag upon the unsuccessful delivery attempt and we have yet to be able to confirm if they were indeed left from the delivery attempts after not being able to connect with the recipients to confirm.

At the time we were contacted, we offered the options that were available for the package, which were to reschedule the delivery date for another business day (Monday-Friday are business days for UPS), deliver to another location and waive the cost that we incur from UPS to do this, or to have the package brought to the neighborhood office where it could be picked up at the recipients convenience. Because all of these options were declined for the gift that was in transit, we were asked to ship out a new order with a separate and more costly method of shipping before the original gift was returned.

After all was said and done, we sent two gifts for the cost of one, reimbursed the cost for the upgraded Saturday shipping and our end goal is always the same, to ensure the recipients are thrilled when receiving their gift. Again, we are truly sorry that this experience did not go as anticipated and we regret that this was the impression that was received about our service. We value your feedback and appreciate you shopping with us.

Days after the estimated delivery date, I was told that for some unknown reason, my package was not sent, and that the basket that I had selected was now sold out. I was offered a replacement that was of lesser value, and the Customer Service representative was quite defensive with me when I expressed polite frustration that a Get Well basket for my mother-in-law who had surgery was never sent/received. Things happen that are out of a company's control, but the way those issues are resolved (or not) are what you remember. I would suggest ordering from a service that has a better guaranteed delivery system or at least offers a replacement of equal value.

Hi Sheenadee,
You are absolutely right that mistakes happen, although we'd love for this not to be the case when sending such a gift for your mother in law! I am so sorry that you were treated with anything other than kindness and empathy when reaching us with your concerns. That does not match our core values at all in our service team and I'd love to look into this and see that we review and address this unacceptable behavior. Placed the order online Saturday for delivery Monday. I specified in the deliver instructions to please deliver no later than noon. The flowers never arrived at the office. The office closed at 5pm and as of 5:18pm...no delivery. My daughter did not receive her flowers for her birthday and I'm very upset. I called Gift Tree and was advised that they cannot guarantee a deliver time but deliveries to a place of business are by 5pm. when I asked why it was not delivered they could not tell me. I requested a full refund and I hope they will oblige. If I knew that the delivery is not guaranteed I would have order from a reputable company like 1 800 flowers whom I have done business with before and had no issues. I should have stuck with what I knew. I will provide an update once I receive my refund. Based on the refund guidelines on this website, Gift Tree does not have to post this review. Hopefully it gets posted and no one else has to experience this disappointment.

I ordered a package, a beautiful gift basket, to be delivered to a client of mine at her workplace. I knew that it was going to be the last week that she was going to be working there, so I ordered it with a guarantee that it would be delivered by Thursday. Thursday came around, no delivery. Friday came around no delivery. Saturday, no delivery. It was delivered on Monday, according to the tracking, but now the package is in somebody else's hands and nowhere to be found. I called gifttree and the customer service rep did not want to resolve this issue for me in any way. She said that she could try to contact the company to see where the package is. That is pretty embarrassing. Obviously I have contacted the company to see where it is already. Her lack of understanding and her defiant attitude claiming that this was not gift tree's fault was really ridiculous. First of all , if the gift basket was sitting in the UPS truck for hours and hours and days and days delayed , the chocolate is probably melted and disgusting by now . I have ordered gift baskets from here before but this will be the last time

If I could rate "0" I would. Friday I ordered a fruit basket to be delivered on Saturday. Paid, received all confirmations and on Saturday, I received a voicemail and an email that said my order could not be delivered and sorry for the inconvenience. No reason, nothing. I called them and of course I got a recording. Fine, what could I do. Monday afternoon I get an email that say undeliverable, no one there. Not true, they are always home. I call again to say so and that they need to go back. That evening I get another email, same message, "no one available" I call back this morning asking why would you call me or them since I provided a number. No reason. Now it is Tuesday and I have not heard from anyone and there has not been a delivery. The fruit ? Who knows? What kind of company survives with this service?

Wanted to get something other than flowers delivered to my Mom for her Birthday. Ordered online at GiftTree about 10 am for a SAME DAY DELIVERY (I wanted the fruit fresh for her). At 10.30 am, GiftTree.com emailed a confirmation that the order was in process and scheduled for delivery today. At 5.30 pm that night, I saw an email sent by GiftTree.com a couple of hours earlier saying that the item they listed online as SAME DAY was actually NEXT DAY. When I called Customer Service after seeing the email, they first told me they emailed me at 11.05 am (WRONG), then they said they called me then (WRONG), then they offered to deliver it the next day (???). Other than a "Sorry", they offered a $ 20 credit for a future order - their delivery charge is $ 19.99. Seriously??? I am beyond mad. I ordered elsewhere immediately as I will NEVER deal with these IDIOTS again!

I'M HURT, DISAPPOINTED AND MAD!!!! SHAME ON GIFTTREE. I ordered a Orchard Fruit Basket for my Dad for Fathers Day and they sent my Dad this horrible piece of CRAP!!! I paid almost $80.00 for that fruit basket and they have the nerve to bring my Dad 3 apples, some misc items from the DollarTree and some sunflower seeds!!! REALLY??? ARE THEY SERIOUS!! What is Nutty Buddy, candy, crackers, sunflower seeds doing in what's suppose to be an all fruit gourmet "Fruit Basket"? Then cover up sloppyness with a tired looking red Christmas bow. My 5 year old could do better then this! You really thought it was cool to send my father a leftover Easterbasket from the Dollar store. Then add insult to injury I am still fighting to get my Refund. I'm FURIOUS!! They RUINED MY FATHER'S DAY SURPRISE. I called them several times was told they would issue me a refund and would have the basket picked up my Dad waits all day its Fathers Day Weekend noone shows up. I should not have to beg them to come get their deplorable representation of what should have been a Orchard Fruit basket. This is bad business, bait and switch..they are scam artist DO NOT BUY FROM THEM and I JUST WANT MY MONEY REFUNDED..ASAP!!!

Thank you so much again for allowing us to rectify this unacceptable gift that your father received. We are so sorry again that the quality was not there and have discussed this fully with our vendor that we partner with to ensure no one encounters such heartbreak while trying to do something special for their loved one.

This experience is not at all reflective of a typical gift delivery and we would love the opportunity to deliver that WOW to both you and your recipients in the future. Gift tree should try to live of the their web site. I received a gift for Christmas that was mostly fruit. Some of the fruit was blemished and not good quality. I called for replacement of the items and was told they were not available at that time, but they would give me a $20 credit to use later. Not being familiar with the company I agreed. BIG MISTAKE!. I now know the gift was $100+. The $20 is not worth using. By the time you add shipping you end up spending a lot more than the $20. Tried to call and again ask for just the fruit to be replaced and after several hours, the answer is"can't do". Will now advise the person who ordered the gift and will NEVER deal with this company, who lies about 100% customer satisfaction.

Fake reviews and cheap/overpriced product. I initially left my review on their website. I wasn't even that critical, but I wanted to share some concerns. It turns out, they won't publish any review that is even remotely negative. This is a very misleading practice and borderline fraud. Do not support this company. Aside from this shady business practice, the actual gift basket I received was terrible. It cost about $80 and was filled with large boxes that had a few ounces of actual product inside. I even had a candy that was in a box...inside the box was the candy in a wrapper. Inside that wrapper was the actual candy within another wrapper. The idea is for their pictures of the baskets to look like you are getting so much stuff but your recipient is left with a bunch of boxes and barely any chocolate/candy/etc. So the buyer feels like their purchase of $80 (in my case) is justified. Since they aren't getting the basket, little do they know that they just got ripped off. Do not buy from this company.

I ordered a $50 balloon bouquet and was promised that it would get there on a certain day, and they did not deliver. :( It arrived a day late.. and with 3 out of the 5 balloons geared towards little boys - One saying "Birthday Boy!!" when this was for a little girl. I guess if there was any question as to what the gender of the child was, they could've called and asked - or at the least, update their website for that option. I was very disappointed because it defeats the purpose when you are trying to surprise someone on their birthday and it arrives a day after the big day. I WISH i would've looked for reviews on this company prior to ordering.. and will do so in the future. There are more bad reviews than good... and I find it strange that this particular website would recommend this company - with so many terrible reviews. The main issue that I am seeing is NOT delivering ON TIME... and NOT getting what was pictured on the website. Just because they have a pretty website and a great web designer, does not make them a good company!! Buyers BEWARE!!!!

What Gift Tree did to me is called "bait and switch". Charged me top dollar for beautiful flower arrangement that they displayed on a website picture. Sent me email that gift is scheduled for delivery and then at the last moment informed me that flowers are not available and instead they would replace them with so called "designer choice". They refuse to show me how the flowers look like and did not allow to speak with a florist. I did not have time to reorder another flowers, so I was hoping the Gift Tree would have curtesy to replace the arrangement with something comparable to what I have ordered. What they sent instead did not worth even fraction of what I ordered. That was just an embarrassment! When I called customers service they said if I have problems they would have to collect the flowers back. It was terrible, as they did not embarrass me enough. What a rip off! Just want to warn fellow shoppers, so they be careful and would not become victims of Gift Tree with theirs rip-off service. Vira S.

I ordered a fruit basket early Friday morning to be delivered the same day. I received a call late Friday, saying it would have to be delivered Saturday. I wasn't pleased, but agreed. It never showed up. I left a voicemail message which was never returned. I called again on Monday and was guaranteed a basket would be delivered by 3pm that afternoon. Again, it was not delivered. Tuesday morning I called again, explaining the fact that I had been more than patient but it was the worst customer service I had ever received and would like a full refund. They explained they couldn't do that, but would deliver a basket this same day for a discounted price. Well, it is now 7:15pm. Five days later than the original delivery date. A fruit basket has finally been delivered. A slight refund has been credited to my account. NEVER AGAIN will I utilize this company.

Put in an order to be delivered on the 22nd of Dec. They switched the warehouse on me to the other side of the country and changed the delivery date to the 28th and notified me after the items were already shipped, so I was not even able to cancel the order. When asking them for a refund they said no and that the items were shipped. I've called at least 9 times asking for some kind of help. The best they would do is call all the recipients informing them it was their fault. They are not understanding at all, these were holiday gifts for some very dear friends and business colleges. I will never use them again, not even if they gave me a credit. I want a full refund.

I wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered flowers through them yesterday. They called at 4:20 pm and said the local florist wouldn't be able to deliver the flowers before close of business and did I have a home address instead. When I gave them the city of the home address, they said, oh that's too far. We can deliver the flowers on Monday. Well, Monday is not her birthday. Today is the birthday which is why I paid extra for next day delivery. Really?! What part of paying extra for guaranteed next day delivery was not understood? Their slogan is "When Much Ado Matters." My friend's birthday today clearly wasn't much ado to them today. Won't be using their services ever again.

I ordered a Deluxe Gourmet Gift Basket with One Bottle of Champgne for $149.99 or $181.37 after service and delivery fees. What was delivered was nothing like was nothing like what was pictured online. My recipient received a $18.99 bottle of sparkling wine from Safeway in a poorly wrapped basket with rainbow color ribbon and bright orange crinckle cut paper strips (this was especially embarassing as this was a birthday gift for a grown man). I even confirmed on the phone that the contents would include a $50 bottle of nice champagne. I contacted GiftTree about their satisfaction guarantee and they told me that they would only refund the $19.95 service charge. After telling them that I didn't want money I just wanted the product delivered that was advertised they stopped responding to my emails and now I can not log on to my GiftTree account no doubt so that I can not review the item. This is called deceptive advertising and it is theft to take someone's money and not give them what they agreed to pay for.

I ordered a "better" level birthday bouquet in a mercury glass vase with a balloon for my best friend (the balloon would entertain her toddler!), who is over 8 months pregnant, for her 40th birthday because I had had a great experience with GiftTree in the past. After spending over $100, I expected that she'd receive what I ordered (within reason, as I understand that fresh flowers are what they are and that floral design is an art form,) and that she would receive them ON HER BIRTHDAY. Around noon on her birthday, I received an email stating that the fresh flowers needed for the arrangement weren't available at the local florist and could I call GiftTree ASAP to "avoid delaying the delivery of her gift." My heart sunk. $100 isn't a drop in the bucket to me, and neither is my good friend's birthday. I called GiftTree on my lunch break (12:30pm MST) as I teach at an elementary school and the customer service person is cordial, if not actually friendly. She puts me hold while she "checks something." She comes back on the line and lets me know that she contacted the florist in my friend's delivery area and they have completed deliveries for the day. Please note that is now 2:30 pm in Maryland where my friend is located - certainly NOT too late to have a delivery go out. But...There will be no more deliveries in that area today. Seriously? Just like that...no chance of a birthday delivery and we haven't even touched on the flower issue. The flowers. Ok, so I had picked a lovely arrangement off of the GiftTree site that I thought she'd love, and that included a great vase that wouldn't match every other flower delivery vase ever made. The flowers in the arrangement weren't tropical or rare. The main stars of the attraction were: 40cm pink roses, white daisies, yellow alstroemeria, lavender asters and pink carnations with some greenery arranged nicely to look festive. I certainly don't know of any florists worth their salt that don't carry roses in some shade of pink, white daisies, pink carnations, and a variety of yellow and purple flower... this isn't rocket science. Now, I don't doubt that this florist may have chosen not to stock the new mercury glass vase due to cost, or whatever, but just say you're out of the vase and do your best to match the picture of the flowers! But no... the florist would do a "Florist's Choice, and because "it was GiftTree's fault that the order is delayed, we'll upgrade the flowers to BEST." Meanwhile, I'm thinking two things: a) Yeah, I should hope so! and, b) Since it's "Florist's Choice," no one would ever know the difference between basic, better and best anyways, so I wonder if I just payed $100 for $40 bouquet? Nevertheless, the customer service gal said she'd call my friend and let her know there was a gift on the way, and I was thankful for that, and I resolved to stay positive. "What's one more day?", I thought. Well, the next day came and the delivery people called my friend and since she wasn't home at the moment they arrived (but would be soon!), they refused to leave the flowers because there was a balloon tied to them and said they'd try the next day. Are you kidding me?! What... are they gonna float away by the super power of one helium ballon?? C'mon!! So....On day THREE... 2 days after her birthday, she stayed home all day to make sure she was there when the delivery arrived. Of course she was thankful and loved that she received flowers from me for her birthday, even though it was a complete gong-show behind the scenes and a total inconvenience for her very pregnant self. The flowers: Let's just say that "BEST" DOES NOT DESCRIBE THE REPLACEMENT bouquet. I was sadly correct in surmising that my hard-earned $100 had quickly turned into much less, in a plain vase. I was given no alternatives, though, other than a full refund, in which case she'd have had nothing. GiftTree knows that we won't take that option because we need something to arrive. Sorely disappointed.

I wanted to send my husband a really spectacular bouquet of flowers for our 20th wedding anniversary. I wanted Calle Lilly since we had those at our wedding, so I searched "Calle Lilly bouquets" online and Gift Tree came up with a beautiful arrangement on their web page. I called to order that exact arrangement for $129.00 (with delivery, it was about $140) The next day gift tree called to say the florist they used in our area was too busy so they would call their "back up" florist. The arrangement arrived and it was SO DISAPPOINTING! I could have gotten this bouquet at my local grocery store for A LOT LESS. One Calle Lilly was broken, the stems on the greenery were cut so short they would not stay in the vase. It did not have hydrangea that was shown in the picture. I will NEVER order flowers online again and certainly not this company. Go to your local florist to SEE what you are getting.

I ordered a gift to be diliveres for a very survival friends birthday. As a precautionary measure, I requested the order to be delivered two days earlier with only one instruction for the shop to call the person receiving the gift, to arrange the time and place of delivery. After 7 calls, two emails and three days later, the gift is still not dilivered with no indication of when it will be delivered. The only comfort I received from customer service agent, is that if not dilivered by tomorrow( a day after the birthday), I could consider a refund. This is zero service, with a sad end to a surprise gift that was never dilivered.

Horrible company and terrible customer service. I ordered my Mother a bouquet for Mothers Day. On the day of Mothers day i get a call advising that they could not deliver to this area. Clearly at this point it was too late to make other arrangements. The employee offered no alologies and couldnt seem to care less about the situation. I am extremely disappointed at the failed delivery service and worse customer service. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional and disorganized company. I highly advise against using this company. They don't care about their customers or the dissapointment they bring by promising to deliver a gift that never gets to its destination. Worst company ever.

Ordered flowers for my Mother who was celebrating her birthday in a nursing home out of state. When I called I told them her birthday was on a Sunday. They stated that was no prioblem and even put me on hold to confirm it. Sunday afternoon we got a notice that they did not deliver on Sunday, not giving us enough notice to make other arrangements. After a long conversation they garranteed delivery the following day with an apology note and a larger bouquet. Do to an emergency we had to fly down unexpectedly , we were horrified by the small bouquet . Not only did they lie to us the product was misreprented and a total rip off. I'm going back to Proflowers. Who told me from the beginning they did I not have Sunday delivery in the area and have always produced an amazing display. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE !

More I received a Gift basket fro Gift Tree From a very close friend. It was the worst gift package I have ever seen. It was in a Tin basket shape thing with "CHEERS" on it. I have been looking online for this particular gift package, but I can't seem to find it. I feel bad to tell my Friend How bad it was. It had 1 bottle of 2004 white wine, which tasted like Vinegar. I got a headache with just 1/2 a glass of it. The Boxes in the Package were huge, with tiny bags of cookies & cheese sticks & Crisps in them. It looked like you took a couple of boxes & filled them with some homemade & packed cookies. the cookies were tiny, the Size of a button. Not even a proper Cookie. I felt insulted just looking at the things in it. My Friend gives really great gifts & I can be very sure, this is not what she paid for. It had 1 slab of LINDT Chilli Chocolate & a Tiny box of Chocolates. I small pack of lemon zest cookies, tiny pack of chocolate chip cookies, 1 almond cookie, 2 Almond Roca, 1 small pepper cheese, small pack of cheese snacks, 4 candy, small pack of jelly beans, small pack of candied peanuts, 1 Biscotti & a small pack of savory snack. The only thing medium sized were the Crackers. Lol. It was a joke. The only stylish thing was that the send personalized Scissors & a $10 off gift card. People who order from here, please read the reviews & DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this bad product. Sometimes you send this as a gift & the people who receive it will think bad of you. So think twice before you buy this worthless stuff. You can buy better stuff & pack it yourself & drop it off. This is the Worst I have ever seen

I paid for overnight shipping for a gift which did not arrive for 4 days. On calling customer service, I was told that "overnight" counted from the day it was shipped, not the day it was ordered. Nowhere on the order form did it say that this item may not arrive the next day. Later on in the conversation it came out that the personalization of the gift took time. However, nowhere on the order page was this explained or listed. Everywhere else, when ordering online, overnight shipping means it arrives the next day. But I was told by the agent that I was the person who misunderstood what overnight meant. Nor was gifttree willing to refund the considerable extra cost of overnight shipping that they charged. When placing an order for a special event, the time of delivery is important. Gifts arriving late simply lose their meaning, and appear as though the event was forgotten. I will not use gifttree again. The service, and customer service was a huge disappointment.

DO NOT USE GIFTTREE.COM SERVICES AS THEY LIE ABOUT AVAILABLE NEXT DAY DELIVERY. (And who knows what else). After a dear friend in the family passed away, I was online searching for a suitable flower arrangement. I am currently working on a ship in Europe and since there was no way to call, I went on the online chat to double check that although it was Saturday afternoon, that the bouquet would make it there on Sunday. I gave the funeral home address and they ASSURED me that it would be there. That the funeral services take a high priority. I just received an email this afternoon that it never made it and the company will give me a call "at their leisure". This is pure bull. IF YOU CAN'T GUARANTEE ME THAT IT WOULD BE THERE, TELL ME. DON'T LIE ABOUT IT. Thank you for ruining my gesture in a time of sorrow. Let others be aware and use a better florist. One that doesn't lie.

WARNING!! OVERPRICED! This company takes a large amount of money from the buyer and only gives a small portion to the actual florist. I know a florist who had a lady complain that she paid $120 to gift tree and then the florist only actually received $60 so gift tree was the blame for their screw up. Personally, My boyfriend buys flowers every month for me and always pays extra for the quick delivery. 3 times now the delivery has failed to come to me on time, sometimes being the next day. In most occasions, the gift tree products have things that aren't available in the florist shops. BUY DIERECRLY from the floral shops it's BETTER and CHEAPER, with real customer service. I call my gift tree provider and they were very rude denying that any thing was wrong, also refused a refund for the quick delivery that never happened. I called them on behalf of my boyfriend and said they can only talk about the delivery information with the card holder. My boyfriend lives in France and is unable to call this pitiful american company, so I tried to help and get some of him money back, I said I have all his information and he knows but they still treated me very unprofessionally. The speaker on the phone didn't believe my claims and said they have to check the order. Further, a couple times when the specific thing my boyfriend ordered wasn't in stock they chose another product that costs more without his approval, just charged it to his card. GIFT TREE is TAKING YOUR MONEY!!! If you use this company, you are paying way more than necessary. Check the local flower shops who will offer cheaper deals for frequent customers unlike this Greedy company. Never using their service again!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! My daughter is in college and ordered her dad a birthday basket to be delivered on his bday of course. It did not arrive. When we contacted gift tree they offered a credit towards another ourchase if we sent the package back when we received it. Ummm, no. I am not paying to ship something back because it did not arrive on time. It has been 4 days after his birthday and we still have not received the basket which includes perishable items. Who would want it now anyway. A bunch of stale and inedible food at this point. No excuse. And they refuse a refund. Stay away from them!!! Use someone much more reputable

I ordered a $250 wine gift basket for delivery (on Dec 23) before Christmas, and that included paying a premium for "fast delivery". It arrived on Dec 30. For the money, I was expecting three premium bottles plus an assortment of quality goodies. The wines were less than ordinary, typically priced in the $12-$20 range, and the value of the snacks etc in the package probably amounted to $25 at most. I feel completely ripped off and would never recommend this company to anyone.

This is the last time i use this company. Last year, i had serious problem with delivery of gift baskets to my customers. I though it was circumstantial and i gave it another try this year. They were $10 cheaper that dave hand harry. Surely, one basket was supposed to be delivered on Dec 16, but today Dec 22 it is still in transit. The other basket that i ordered was delayed few days and delivered to a business on Saturday?!?!?!? Both orders were placed on the same day few minutes apart to be shipped to the same address! Run from this place!

Are there even any words? A ton of fake reviews... Gift basket delivery was late, so my mother in laws birthday was over, no comparison in what they advertise vs what they deliver... and as for the wine?? Cheap moscato (barefoot) that even had a "great value" sticker on it...at the front of the basket there were flaming hot Cheetos and Snyder’s pretzels.. It was like a gas station gift basket.

Two disappointments with this company. Unreliable. Learned about 1 week later that the first basket I ordered was unavailable. Ordered second basket for specific delivery date for 12/28. It arrived. 1/2. I choose the original date from their website offering as my friends were in town for a limited time. No notice that it was going to be late. Will never use them again.

Kathleen, I am so sorry for your disappointment and frustration. We ran across delays in shipping this year because of the holiday and that is never what we want to happen. We want you to be happy not only with your gift but the timing in which it arrives. Are delivery dates for Standard shipping are usually pretty close, but they are just an estimate also. We do have guaranteed delivery date options like Overnight or 2 day express. I am going to refund your shipping charges as an apology, I know its not about the money it was about the gift but this is all I have beyond my words to say I am truly sorry.

Thank you,

I placed an order on 12/15 requesting Christmas delivery, however, the order showed an estimated date of 12/27. I accepted this date though it seemed excessive. Today 12/28 I contacted Gift Tree to find out the order will not deliver until 1/2. I am very disappointed there was no follow up to advise the gift would arrive this late. I ordered additional food gifts on 12/15 from two different companies both arriving 12/20 ! I will not be a customer again. Rick

They state a delivery date when you are placing the order and then that date changes in later correspondence, the good old bait a switch. I wanted it there ontime and now it’s scheduled to arrive when no one will be home. The customer service is a joke it’s a shame that I even have to write as I would have hoped that a company could act with integrity and follow though with what they state when ordering. I’ll never use this company again and suggest that others go elsewhere

Gift tree has extremely inaccurate shipping dates. I understand it is the holiday season but there is no reason why a confirmation should tell A different arrival date then the date I chose for it to be delivered. I called immediately and a represented changed the deliver date back and I received a confirmation . I then check the tracking and it is expected to be delivered 5 days after the confirmation date. Gift tree is really an unreliable sham. I order gift baskets all the time and this will be the last time I order from them.
