I have purchased a car on CarGurus. Its been a nightmare so far. Its been over a month since i paid the requested amount for the vehicle and i have not received title yet. I keep calling and sending emails but they keep referring me to autopay. I have called autopay and have left several messages but have not received any luck from them. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO PURCHASE A CAR FROM CARGURU/AUTOPAY.

Their auto sale feature is horrible. I am on a time constraint and I explicitly asked them how long it would take and they said 1-2 business days MAX. Now it is 2 business days, the day before I move cross country, and I'm getting ghosted by their sales time. WTF! I am going to demand their sales fee back because I would have NEVER used this service if I had known this. I urge everyone to NEVER use this site to conduct a sale, it is a terrible experience.

NEGATIVE STARS SHOULD BE AN OPTION!! I GAVE 1 STAR ONLY BECAUSE I HAD TO IN ORDER TO WRITE THIS REVIEW!! I listed my car yesterday with them and the added FALSE VEHICLE HISTORY INFO to my add. "Frame damage reported" and "6 previous owners" is what they added to my listing. I know for a fact thats not true and i also did a report on my own just to show if anyone ever asked. Oh and they added "no deal listing" saying my car was only worth half of my sale price and was worth $0 trade in value. Wtf??!!

Worst company to deal with. First, they want to be your partner selling your car. Most of their leads are bogus and not to be found. As a car dealership, they will never give a proper word, honest agreement. They are always after your money to charge as much as they can. Do not sign with them any long term contract as they do not have a set up fees. Every rep can 'grab' money from you as much as possible to increase their commission. On top of that, you will get the worse customer service

Experience thus far tells me many of the dealer listing are nothing more than click bait. For me, roughly 75% of my requests come back as not available, or “can’t find the vehicle you are inquiring about.” There is no apparent way to alert CarGurus, and sometimes *weeks*later, the bogus listings are still there.

Very dissopointed with cargurus, there customer service is absolutly rubbish, we have reported a fauld where you can not search for a van nearest to me it no longer works they say if you search under cars my vans are there but who in there right mind look for a van under cars, they only seem interested in taking the monthly direct debit not a good experiance at all beware

Not sure where or how CarGurus determines the value of the cars they advertise, but the values are extremely inflated. The values do not correspond to the NADA retail book values or the Kelly Blue Book retail values. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’re getting a great deal based on their inflated values. Check the NADA book or Kelly Blue Book values.

Two major issues with the site. 1. The lowest price vehicle in the searches are never available, pretty sure its a bait and switch tactic the sellers are using. Also when I tried to leave reviews about the sellers it felt was a negative experience the site would not post them. There are no deals to be found here. Try another search tool and save yourself the aggravation.

Besides the websites terrible UX, their practice of not allowing reviews unless there was a message from the dealer is absolutely nonsense. I can prove that I purchased a car from a specific dealer and Car Gurus is obviously only concerned with the dealer relationship. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this site. The reviews are not thorough. Customer service was dismissive and unhelpful.

When you do a year to year search they will occasionally ad a car of the year that you're not interested at all. No idea how they calculate pricing but they are way of, now i understand that the people who are in charge of pricing don't have the luxury to drive some of the expensive cars listed in here but they should do there homework before they decide to act like experts. Cars.com way better when it comes of selling and buying.

Ok site, but don’t expect them to stand behind you after a supposed sale. The seller & I agreed to a deal, officially thru the site, then he sold it to another person after we agreed. You think Carguru’s would help or take some action? Nope, “that happens” was their response.

Their pricing is so way off the mark it’s almost borderline a scam. An example below: Nissan Navara Listed price £19995, shown as great saving listed at £3308 below market value. Real values below: First, From their own website - P/x price £16489, market value £23303. I highly doubt any dealer has a margin of just under £7000 on a pick up! Independent values: P/x £17482-£18402 Use it as a tool to find cars but DO NOT rely on the deal info, it is totally wrong.

Their algorithms are so poor!! They lump vehicles together that aren't even remotely similar...like a 2x4 silverado extended cab being compared price/mile to a 4x4 crew cab!! Their algorithms also put too much weight on historic prices ignoring current market values. Their pricing for dealership packages are expensive and bring little value. Their customer support, can't answer any questions beyond simple usability.

CarGuru seemed to work just fine when setting up a listing for a car to sell by owner. Then it needed some other verification, and I was unable to access my messages for potential buyers. Had a buyer lined up and then was unable to connect with the buyer again. There is nobody to answer any questions or clear up problems. My account is stuck in some kind of verification mode and unable to access. Frustrating.

Don’t do it. All you are doing is competing with online pricing quality is out the door if u are willing to mark up your cars $200 bucks this is the advertising tool you need but me I need to make a living and this program sucks. I expressed my concerns and they will not cancel they flat out told me they don’t care they will not let me out of the contract so I’m paying $600 bucks a month for 10 leads garbage leads too

I am not a dealership. I have advertized for nearly 8 weeks and lowered my price several times to make my vehicle the best deal in the nation for make, year and mileage. I have had over 400 views and 8 inquiries, but NO SALE. I strongly believe most of these inquiries were fake, possibly from dealers that are competing for these type of cars or possibly trying to get us frustrated. I strongly do not recommend this site for a personal sale of a vehicle!!

INCORRECT VALUATIONS! I blue booked my Truck and listed it for the KBB value and they stuck a tag on there saying it was $5000 overpriced! When I spoke to them they said that their algorithm determines the value. I come to find out that their system doesn't list correct options and there is no way to change it. Previous reviews have blamed the dealer for the valuations . Its not the dealers. Its a scam by CarGurus to make it seem like they are on the customers side. They purposely undervalue your car so they can boast "Great Deals" If you are a private seller do not use this service!

Terrible service. Their system for forcing all communication with buyer through them instead of direct doesn't work, You can't see the messages you are typing, the time delay makes it impossible to negotiate real time AND then just when someone wants to give you a deposit (send you money to hold your car) they arbitrarily suspend communication with the buyer until you have done an "identity verification" which they require 2 days to review. Meanwhile your buyer has moved on. I ended up accepting a lower offer on Craig's List. Never CarGuru again!

The dealer i'm referring to is Auto World USA Bedford, Ohio. they do not check there cars for safety check on trade ins or auction cars they polish turdsand put a small discount to make it look like a deal and your left with the bill.

Horrible customer service for dealerships. Shady and unethical business practices. Doubles rates from $4k a month to $8k a month with only an email notice, or will drop your account from their website. No way to call corporate to try and get help about being mistreated from your local Cargurus Representative. Just a take it or pound sand attitude. The way they operate should be illegal. They continually put up false trim levels on cars and that causes people to believe the 'great price' moniker but it's false advertising at best and deceptive business at worst. If you use them, copy the vin, put it in Google and make sure you're getting the car you think you are. Don't waste your time.

False and misleading service for dealers. Our dealership signed up with them for a 30 day free trial. We sat through a seemingly impressive presentation. Weren't even live for 24 hours when my manager called to cancel because it was not as promised or advertised. Despite multiple heated conversations about what the definition of a free 30 day trial was and how ridiculous it is to be billed for service not provided, we have nonetheless been billed and paid $400.

NOW THEY HAVE REMOVED MY AD AND WANTED ME TO PRINT OUT A NUMBER TO PUT IN THE DASH AND SEND THEM A PICTURE. I'LL STICK WITH CARS DOT COM AS THEY ARE MUCH MORE USER FRIENDLY.

LIke to hear if anybody else has had a bad experience with Toyota Sienna LE 2016. My car often will not start exhibiting the "ignition problem" for which I am directed to see the service dept of the seller. They do nothing to help me. I asked Toyota for a zone rep. to look at the car and determine what is the problem. Denied. BTW, when car will not start, the doors lock, will not open with fob. Anybody else had this problem. What did you do? The dealer thumbs his nose at me doing nothing to fix the problem.

Seems like a scam. They will have two virtually identical cars with similar KM and no accidents advertised on the same lot. One will say it is $5000 over priced and the other one will be $2000 underpriced. How is that possible!? Moreover, the site often says cars are $5000 over priced which is ridiculous after scanning through Autotrader. For example, they will say a 2015 Sonata is $5000 over priced, but when I go on Autotrader, there is not a single Sonata within 1000 KM for less than the one I am looking at that is "$5000 over priced."

Most of my problems with CarGurus seem to stem from the fact that one cannot interact with a real person. The site referred me to a seller that tried to scam me yet I was not able to write a review of the seller. Every effort to speak to CarGurus about this was futile. The next seller I investigated through a CarGurus referral was selling a car with a poor, CARFAX report (one obtained on my own). I now find CarGurus ads polluting my internet experience everywhere I go -- even after unsubscribing.

Well my experience with CarGurus has been if a dealer is going to list a vehicle and then the company listing the vehicle on CarGurus not respond but CarGurus emails you with the dealership name on it and when I contact the dealership because they did not reply like CarGurus said they will so I contact the dealership that has the car but they have it listed for $1,900 more and will not honor their price of $5,199 as listed on CarGurus.. this whole process seems like a waste of time

Skewed Dealer Reviews! Don't trust the CarGurus Dealer Reviews! They are severely skewed as the dealer can pick and choose who gets to review! After a recent bad experience of buying a car I saw on CarGurus website, I was not allowed to submit a review of the car dealership so that others might learn from my experiences. I even followed up with the Merle on the CarGurus content team and asked for help from a manager. They say they are 'transparent' in their reviews. That seems like a direct lie. Be warned.
