Healthy Awards Program

When you make a purchase online you are automatically enrolled in the Healthy Awards program. Points are earned every time you make a purchase; this is generally one point for every dollar spent. Once you earn 100 points you are awarded $5 credit to spend in the store. The points can range up to 7500 which can earn you $540 in credit that you can apply to anything in the store. This loyalty program is beneficial to customers as it automatically signs you up so you are always earning points. The number of points needed to receive credit is fairly manageable and there are a number of different rewards for different point values ranging from $100 to $540. The Vitamin Shoppe also has a V.I.P. club for members who spend more than $1000 dollars in a calendar year. This V.I.P. membership gives its members exclusive deals and promotions.

While the products on Vitamin Shoppe have a short bulleted list that gives the consumer information on the product, they are lacking in further details about their products. Most of the information provided for products is the nutrition label. They have very little general information about items. This might leave some with questions on an item.

Pop-up Issues

Although having the option to chat with a live health specialist is a good thing, after you select no thanks, the pop up continues to show up while browsing the site. This could interrupt a shopping experience and is unnecessary since there is a button at the top of the page to begin a chat at any time.

PayPal Returns

Vitamin Shoppe has a standard return policy, they accept returns for up to 30 days after the purchase. However, when you use PayPal to purchase items, your money is only returned to you in store credit. This could be a deterrent for shoppers who use PayPal as their preferred payment choice. Also, there is not an option to price match competitors prices or promotions.
