The Bad

  • Cancellation Fee
  • Consumer Complaints

Cancellation Fee

Although HelloTech understands that your schedule can change on short notice, the company does charge a cancelation fee in some instances.

If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, you will be charged a $25 cancellation fee. If you fail to cancel at least three hours before your appointment, you will be charged the full price of your scheduled service.

Additionally, a $25 service fee will be applied to appointments rescheduled within three hours of the appointment time.

Keep in mind that these fees apply to in-home services only.

Consumer Complaints

The following are the common complaints against HelloTech on BestCompany:

  • Late Technicians — Several reviews mention that their technician was anywhere from 1 to 3 hours late for their scheduled appointment.
  • Unqualified Technicians — Several consumers stated that they felt their technician was not qualified to complete the task they'd been assigned.
  • Problem Is Not Fixed — Some reviews indicated that they were unhappy with the final result of their service because their technician did not fix the problem, but the company did not issue a refund.

Many complaints mention the technicians. HelloTech's technicians come from various backgrounds (some were full-time tech support professionals, others are college students looking to make some extra money). The company mentions that all its technicians go through a series of interviews, skill assessments, and background checks, but there is no mention of the exact training HelloTech provides. So your experience could very well depend on how experienced your technician is and the training they received.

gavel

The Bottom Line

HelloTech is a great company to look into if you need support for the technology that supports you and your business.

The company's two membership plans cover just about any device you can think of, including TVs, mobile phones, tablets, smart home systems, computers, printers, and more. And both plans include just about every service you can think of, whether it's installing a smart home system or mounting a TV. Plus, with the Smart Home Plus plan, you pay a $69 flat rate for all in-home services. Support is available 24/7, and there are technicians ready to make in-home visits across the country.

We would like to see HelloTech include more information about its technicians, especially regarding what kind of skills HelloTech is looking for, what training programs they go through, and what type of experience the company expects applicants to have.

Tech arrived half hour late (we were informed of this just prior to his arrival time). When he arrived and looked at the TV he said under his breath, "well, they gypped me on this one". He then told me I would have to help him move the TV and we placed it on the floor and he proceeded to take off the legs. He then shook the wall the TV was to be mounted on and asked if the house we built after 2006. I said no it was 2003. He said that were would be an up-charge from 169 to 238 dollars. He asked if I wanted to go ahead and I said I felt trapped since my TV as laying on the floor without its legs. He said he would let HelloTech know of my displeasure. It turns out that his measurements were off and when the TV was hung, the sound bar would not fit under the TV. The sound bar then was sitting in front of the remote IR device and blocked the signal from my remote so it would not work. The sound bar now has to sit off center in order for the remote to work. The Techs solutions was for me to buy an IR extender to fix the problem. The TECH was coughing and hacking the whole time he was in my house. He was wearing a mask that covered his mouth and not his nose. The last thing he did before leaving was to give me his card and told me to call him directly for future work instead of going through HelloTech. It is my intent to use whatever social, news and neighborhood media platforms there are to let my communities know about my dissatisfaction with your company and the Tech

Unexperienced Tech that did not want to complete the job ordered. The job was not what he expected and as such was not completed as I expected. In wall run was not completed. Alternative was sloppy. The exterior cable was not hidden or covered as I expected, however acceptable. Closet door was damaged and no attempt to repair it was offered. Door damage was preventable had a small table been moved. It was an accident and can be repaired. No offer to repair or report at time of incident. Has taken over a month to respond after several calls. Did a charge back on my credit card. A week later I received a damage form to fill out.

Hired this company, HelloTech to install a SimpliSafe alarm. The tech arrived, mentioned he “was in a hurry, and needed to knock the job out quick. Even asked if I could assist him in unboxing and connecting all via my iPhone. He proceeded to install two door sensors. Then got to a window. He could not get the sensor to stick, so he decided to drill. He drilled a hole into the window frame and the window glass immediately cracked all the way across. He asked if he’d like me to proceed. Declined and told him this job is done and would like to terminate. Also, asked him to file an incident report of the damaged. He asked me to just do it all via email. Again, I declined and asked him to file the report while still on site and on speaker phone. Very unprofessional and unequipped to do a simple job and task. Did not even apologize for the damages he caused. Now the fun part, getting my property repaired back to original form. A brand new home! They have been extremely unresponsive and is tracking towards a date in small claims. Also, spreading the word about how horrible and unprofessional this experience has been. Proceed with caution with HelloTech. They don’t care that they damaged our brand new home. Nor respond to several calls, emails and chats. Stay far away and hire a company or individual with better practices. Overall experience a 0 of 10.

They offered quick turn around time and we had used them once before. This second time was an awful experience and the order was cancelled after the mis information. Installer called to clarify order last week-when it was scheduled and confirmed, then the installer cancelled day of the scheduled appointment. I received 2 more calls from Hello Tech after the original appointment time, who tried to increase our order after the original caller stated flatly that by keeping it on the same wall was just one item not 2, and the supervisor could only give me a slight discount for the "Misinformation". The customer service reps who called, sent me multiple modification emails, which conflicted with what the next person "could see in their system". My appointment was at 11am on 12/13/21, cancelled at 8am and as of 5:35pm has YET to have an installer to be scheduled even though they gave it their highest level escalation. Taking time out of my work schedule to have NO ONE show up and the cost (after their "generous" discount) still be doubled what we had requested and confirmed at scheduling, we have decided to use another company with better customer service.

I had to mark one star so I could write this information! It should have been a minus one, -1 I have had to email HelloTech 2 times and phone the company 4 times requesting a refund over the last month. Here is what happened. On November 8th I called HelloTech to help with connecting my Bose sound system to my Sony TV. After an hour the tech, reported that I was needing a new sound system due to no power, NOT WORKing, System shot! I wasn't too happy about this BUT. After he left I just wasn't satisfied with his conclusion. There were several things he said about the system that just didn't make sense to me. He only tried using the remote to try to turn on the system, unsuccessfully. He also stated that there was a little blue light on the system that didn't turn on. These were the 2 reasons why he concluded that the system was SHOT. Well I looked closely at the spot he said there should be a blue light and honestly if you look really close it's a screw not a light at all. I decided to call the "Bose' company and tell them what I was trying to do. The Bose person had me check a few very basic steps. "She" had me try turning on the system by using the switch on the unit its self, rather than by using the remote. YA... it had power after all. Next, she had me check if the plugs where plugged into the correct spot, Oops, I needed to reverse the plugs AND NOW the system was working just fine. I didn't have to buy a new system after all! I guess I should be happy; I saved Thousands of dollars. SO, the end of this story is, that I feel I shouldn't pay HelloTech the fee to repair my system. The steps were so very simple, I should have been able to fix it myself. But I decided to call the little guy in town, compared to Geek Squad and get some help. HelloTech's conclusion was, "I needed to buy a new sound system" my sound system was SHOT! I WANT A REFUND FROM HELLoTECH Please!

I purchased a new Wall Mount for my new 24" Flat Screen. I originally purchased the wall mount install with the tv purchase from walmart. Got the tv but they failed to show for the install. I contacted Hello Tech who gave me a convenient appointment to install the wall mount and connect the tv to cable using my existing wires from my previous tv. Price was $109. Their guy showed up on time, installed the wall bracket and then told me he did not know how to hook up the tv. So, $109 for a $25 service. Then I called AT&T, my cable provider who happened to have an opening the same day and said they would connect the tv for $99. Tech showed up early and did the job. Very happy with them. Not so happy with Walmart Handy or Hello Tech, sharing this to save others from being cheated like I was.

A complete nightmare of an experience. The tech, a very nice man, but he had no clue what he was doing. He tried to install a full motion mount with a 58" TV anchored only in drywall. Needless to say as soon as the TV was placed on the mount, it pulled everything off of the wall leaving huge holes in my wall. Instead of replacing the drywall, he patched it with a huge amount of spackling. He returned the following day with a different mount and mounted it on the wall without checking to see if it was in the correct position. It was installed 6 inches too low and had to be moved, more holes in my wall to patch. I will never use HelloTech again. The technician was not a professional, but a jack of all trades, master of none.

This was the worst service and biggest scam I've ever been through. No one at customer service is answering to make it right either. We hired hellotech to install three simplisafe outdoor cameras. Our tech came unprepared, damaged our house, and may have permanently damaged one of the cameras. He hung one of the outdoor cameras with command strips when the package clearly said those were for indoor use only. So of course the camera fell down the next day. It is now upside down and has been rained on. We can't get it down because we don't have a ladder, hence why we hired hellotech in the first place. He also left a knot in the power cord and tried shoving it under the siding which is now damaged??? It was pure laziness and disregard for our property. On the other side of the house we now have three holes in the siding and a ripped power cord because the tech did not have the proper tools to feed the wire through to power the camera and just kept poking holes with his drill. We immediately reached out to hellotech and they have offered no help nor response from their level two support team. We asked for a more experienced tech to come out and fix it, no answer. It's been 6 days. At this point we just want a refund and to forget about this awful company, but they have left us stranded. Our camera may be completely useless due to the rain and now it seems we are left to foot the bill with replacing it. NEVER use this company.

This company was a sweat shop managed by some of the worst people you could ever encounter in life. extremely unprofessional and greedy. They would rather their technician to go at the risk of getting COVID knowingly, they collect substantial COVID protection fee from customers, but did not give a penny to their front line technician delivering the service. The manager had zero technical capability had no clue about the business but show no hesitation to macro mange and abuse power. This company has no technical expertise at all, offer zero training, counting on the technician knowing what to do, I was their top technician sent to clean up the mess regularly. Do yourself a favor, go to other platform such as Yelp or Thumbtack find out much more reliable sources, HelloTech is an airbag, middle man have nothing to offer, just a fat cat sitting there ripping off their technician. If there are negative stars, I would give it negative stars

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I live in Colorado Springs and needed a tv mounting in a hurry. I tried geek squad but they had a 2 week wait so then I tried this company called hello tech cuz they had something the next day. So I try them out and the tv mounter drills into a water line and water starts shooting out the wall!! ( this I a commercial business suite that I'm supposed to start working at). They flooded my room and the room next to me, destroying this girls $150 floor mat smh. I mean there was water everywhere!!!! We had to get a emergency plumber which was like $270, which means I had to pay all that money and now there's a giant hole in my business wall cuz we had to get the pipe fixed. The reason I'm writing this review is because Hello Tech hasn't paid for any of this!!!!!!!!! They said they would send a check in 4-5 weeks and it's been months since it happend and I still haven't received anything. I tried reaching out again multiple times and I no longer get answers from them. This company is a joke!!! There's still a giant hole in my wall smh! I literally just got the place painted 2 days before!!!

Horrible service. Please do not hire them if you want to save yourself from headache. They sent a guy for installation who had no idea how to install. He broke my equipment. After few emails back and forth where I have to explain the problem again and again, they sent another guy to redo the work. He was good but left job unfinished as he arrived late and had to leave for another appointment. Now, when I asked to send the same guy to complete unfinished work and compensate me for broken device, they asked me to go through claims form. Here I am with unfinished work, broken device and charged me for installation after 3 weeks of saga.

Employee threatened me! I purchased a TV through Walmart and their install service was HelloTech. Their employee didn't explain the process or ask how I wanted the TV mounted. When he was done I said I was disappointed and asked why he didn't properly communicate. He started screaming at me so I asked him to leave, he threatened to call the cops on ME (lol) and refused to leave until he took a bunch of pictures of my apartment. Customer service won't acknowledge the situation and sends a template response that the TV cannot be moved because of my wall (I have never asked them to move the TV). Truly scary experience - beware of this service. UPDATE: over a month later HelloTech still refuses to do anything to remedy the situation. Absolutely terrible company use thumbtack or task rabbit instead. See Twitter for additional reviews there’s literally nothing positive.

M Garcia ,

SCAMMERS!! They took $143 out of my account WITHOUT my permission! They state in writing in your emailed confirmation - "You will not be charged until the job is completed." I specifically rescheduled my appointment from the 17th to the 23rd because I needed the $143 for bills. Now, today, Dec. 9th, I was charged $143!! When I called "Ray" told me that, no, I wasn't charged. It was just a preauthorization. HOWEVER, on my end, it's the SAME THING! I no longer have access to that money, which I desperately needed for bills. And I've worked in customer service for many years, and a preauthorization should be a minimal amount, NOT THE FULL AMOUNT!!! They are liars and scammers, and a total waste of time and energy. Ray left me on hold forever while trying to get me a supervisor. YOU DO NOT DO THAT. You keep the customer in the loop, letting them know that you are still working on getting someone. Horrible customer service all around!! I cancelled my order and will report them to every agency that has anything to do with them!! Taking money out of someone's account WITHOUT PERMISSION, and going against their own promise of not charging until AFTER the service is completed is FRAUD - illegal in the United States!!! And I'm sure "Ray" was in the Philippines, oblivious to the way things are done in the US!!! PATHETIC!!!

Truly a zero star experience. I paid for a 'professional' to mount my 65" tv. The guy who showed up was incredibly rude (kicking my belongings if they were in his way, rolling his eyes, sighing loudly, refused to answer any questions I had, and overall made me feel like I was inconveniencing him somehow, etc.). I wish I had trusted my instinct to ask him to leave. Instead, knowing I had already paid for the service, I let him continue with the job. My TV is legitimately crooked. On the left hand side, it sticks out nearly 6" from the wall (I bought a mount that will make a TV as flush to wall as possible) and on the right hand side it sits just over 4" from the wall. The tv appears to be warped in the back. He mounted incorrectly and then tried to blame me for 'distracting' him. He removed it and it appeared things were going better, but unfortunately it's very clearly improperly mounted. It also sits 1-2" further left than I had requested. He seemed in a hurry to leave, so I don't even know if the tv is actually level. I called HelloTech and was told someone would email or text me within 24 hours and a different technician would stop by today to fix the mounting. It's been over 24 hours and no call, text, or email and no one has come to fix it. I've wasted the past 2 hours on the phone with HelloTech and the person I spoke with says 'yes' in response to everything, even if it's not true. Then he tells me it takes 24-48 hours and someone will show up tomorrow and I will get a call, text, or email (although he couldn't seem to decide which or what would happen first). Asked to speak with someone in their support/escalation department, and rather than transfer me, call was disconnected. Now every time I call after waiting on hold endlessly, the call disconnects. The TV still needs to be mounted properly, I've paid for a service that wasn't rendered properly, and can't get in touch with anyone to fix the issue.

No but I feel like you should be able to cancel even in the first month without having to pay the full cost of the service if you already paid the membership fee and charge of the service provided in your home but this is not the case even though when I sighed up I asked if there would be a charge penalty or was told no then when I went to cancel I asked the same question and was told no but then I got an email saying I was being charged the remaining amount as if I wasn’t a member so I called them and they said if I canceled within a month of having a service provided in my home I would be charged like 56 dollars that is not being upfront or honest it was shady and I am irritated and frustrated by this so I have to wait exactly 30 from the date they were in my home to cancel I didn’t want any refund I just wanted to cancel like really ???!!!

I have used HelloTech three times. First two times were great experiences. However, the third has soured me to the company. They sent me an incompetent tech to mount my 65" television. The technician lost some parts behind my wall the day he was mounting it and had to come back the next day (he tried to close the job anyway on his app). The next day he gets the tv on the wall, but it doesn't look right. I tell him a screw is missing and the tv is sagging, and I send pictures. He assures me it will be ok. Flash forward a couple of weeks, and the tv falls off the wall. It is then obvious that he just drilled three screws into drywall and left. The tv was on a full range mount and was doomed for failure. I contacted hellotech and they tried to blame me for this! Despite the mountain of evidence in texts I provided them, they said that since I moved the tv on a full range mount it was my fault it dropped. I have been trying to resolve this for a week now but have not been successful I will happily adjust this review if they make this right. I didn't even want to review after the TV dropped because i know they still have some good techs, but their customer service has been abysmal.

If I could give a zero rating, I would do so. Unless you want to pay full amount for an incomplete job, I would not recommend this organization to my worst enemy. The Tech sent by HelloTech initially advised us the installation of a Simplisafe system was a 45 minute job. Then the excuses began. This eventually led to two separate visits to our home. Then, while the Tech advised us he would return on three different days, he never returned, nor did he text he was not coming, so we were left waiting all day for a Tech who never called or texted us to advise us he was not returning. The job remained unfinished. The current status of the installation is as follows: Door Bell was not installed and remains sitting in a box on our kitchen table Two entry doors do not have functional sensors Camera wire was not attached to home. Despite being 68 years old, as the wire was hanging off of the back of our home and we had to stoop to walk out our back door, I climbed a ladder and installed this wire. A Supervisor for HelloTech requested pictures of the unfinished. Two attempts to speak with a Supervisor were not successful. On October 23 my wife received a call from someone other than the supervisor. This individual who recorded the complaint, submitted a work order, and stated HelloTech would complete the order. In a Text Message on October 31, HelloTech stated they would not be completing this job as they had no Tech available, and that the work order was cancelled. My wife and I find it difficult to comprehend HelloTech does not have an available technician in a metropolitan area of approximately 600,000. Despite paying $170.43 (we were initially advised the Job would cost $79) on Oct 13, the job was not completed.

Tech was scheduled to install a security system. When he arrived he parked on my grass instead of staying in the driveway. Not a good start. It became very obvious he did not know the first thing about what he was doing. The system included a solar powered yard sign and he became very concerned because he stated he had never had to pair one of those with the gateway. A YARD SIGN!! Unbelievably the visit continued its downward spiral from there. After he made four phone calls for advice and two hours into the visit not one single device was installed. I finally told him to leave so I could install the system myself. An hour later I had it up and running. When I called HelloTech customer service to let them know about the visit the person that answered the phone hung up on me. Maybe the rest of the country has decent technicians, but eastern North Carolina should avoid HelloTech like the plague.

I found HelloTech through the Google Connected Home website, as they are recommended as a Nest Pro. What a mistake! They are completely incompetent when it comes to Nest products. Why do they offer installation of products that they can not properly install? Long story short, I cancelled my appointment the day before they were set to arrive after speaking to my assigned technician. And now, for the long story. Brace yourself, the entire experience was a waste of time. Luckily, I found another company that had no problems correctly installing all of my Nest products. To begin, they absolutely will NOT install the Nest Hello doorbell unless you already have a wired doorbell. I found this a bit unreasonable, as Google sells the Nest Hello Doorbell Indoor Power Adapter. Said adapter is made specifically for people that do not have existing wiring for a doorbell. So, I purchased one. I used their live chat to ask about this when I first booked the appointment, and the person I spoke to had no idea what the adapter even was. After a lot of waiting around, she let me know that she made a note on my appointment, which I had already done when I booked it. This left me feeling uneasy and I should have just cancelled then. The straw that broke the camel's back was when the technician called me the day before to advise me that they do not do any work that involves the use of a ladder, as they are not supplied with one. Installing security cameras seems impossible without a ladder. Also, they won't do any electrical work. Please keep in mind that the Nest cameras are not wireless. So what would I be paying for exactly? Hellotech should be removed from Google's list of Nest Pros.

Horrible. Tech is now over 3 hours late. On his way he called to tell me he doesn't have a ladder. What?? How does this company install Nest outdoor cameras without ladders? The instructions provided by Nest clearly state that a ladder is required. Remember that this is supposedly a professional service that I'm paying for, here. I do have a ladder - so, I called to discuss liability issues of providing a ladder; when I used their chat service, they just kept sending smiley faces back in response to my question - weird?? Followed up with a phone call in which I was told that "not providing a ladder would be my fault and that the service would not be completed". Not the purpose of my call, but still super annoying and rude. Not once was I informed that I needed to provide a ladder when the appointment was booked AND PAID FOR. I checked all small font in the confirmation email, etc. It is not even in their FAQs on their website. Finally the representative said I would not be liable should an accident occur, which was the reason for my call in the first place. So I hung up and proceeded with the more than 3 hours late appointment. Going on an hour and a half since he called to tell me he would be "20 minutes", I started to question his abilities to actually do this install - which would require he wire into the house as there is no outdoor outlet. Again, something you supposedly can do per the Nest camera instructions. He said "Oh wow...I don't know....I need to call that in". How can this company say they are experts?? Still waiting for him to call back. I am about to just cancel.

I took service from HelloTech to install Ring Video Doorbell Pro at my home. The technician came to my home and was doing initial checks before installing and after lot of troubleshooting the wires, looking at the oudside doorbell, inside chime and the tansformer in the garage told me that the transformer output is not enough to activate the doorbell and suggested I should get a new transformer. No installation of doorbell was done on this day. Based on this suggestion I ordered a $30 transformer from amazon . I scheduled an appt the same week again and the technician came 1 Hr late and then after 20 mins of looking at things told me that the transformer is perfectly fine and I don't need a new transformer, but the wire which connects to the chime has fallen down in the wall and now he will have to cut through 8 feet wall to get the wire back and they are not allowed to do this. After this it has been 10 days and after repeated calls to HelloTech they keep telling me that they would get back to me in 24 hrs and they never do. So what I have at my hands right now is a lot of invested money in Video Doorbell Pro which is not installed, a newly bought transformer which is not used yet and most importantly a existing doorbell that is not working with the problem that the wires have fallen into the wall and the only way to get hold of those wires is to cut through a large portion of the wall. I do not know if it was technician #1 or technician #2 who dropped the wires in the wall, but it has to be one of them since there was no such problem before they arrived. My doorbell is not working and the wires are in the wall. I want HelloTech to fix this without any additional cost to me and also no damage to my wall to fix the problem they created.

Had the video doorbell installed last week, battery was not charged but told it wouldn’t be a problem because it’s hard wired and would get its juice from the wiring it’s connected to. At first I just thought ok maybe it takes a few days to charge, but it’s been almost a week now & battery still around 2 or 3% which is causing the live view feature to not work at all. Just contacted them earlier today & this is how they responded: Good day! We apologize but we are not authorize to provide a follow up service, you will need to contact ring directly. Also there is a possibility that the device is defective. You can contact ring at 1-800- 656-1918. For further inquiry, you can either respond to this email or visit our website and chat with us at www.hellotech.com. You can also give us a call at 1-800-640-9005. We’re open 24/7. Lies, shakedowns, crappy installations. Was told the price would be $160.00, for two nest cam IQ outdoor installations. "Installer" showed up, with barely any tools, no ladder. Needed to use my drill, my drill bits, my ladder. Had no protective clothing, nothing covering his shoes. Then proceeded to tell me that a "second installation" would be an additional $75, CASH. Ended up installing the cameras where I did not want, left my brick outside my house damaged, left the inside of my house a mess, and required my help, when I stated the only reason I'm paying to have them installed is because I injured my back and couldn't do it myself. These cameras are set up for my disabled wife, and this guy is shaking me down for extra pocket money. Worst service ever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Amazon requires their installers to use vetted employees. Hello tech sent a sub contractor who failed miserably in an attempt to install a wall mount. When he realized he could not complete the job he just left. He told me as a sub contractor he did not need to stay and had personal plans he could not be late for. I called HelloTech and was told they would send a new take the following day (now 2 days home from work). Called at 8 am and was told they could not get an appropriate tech so they notified Amazon that they were cancelling the request. NEVER CALLED ME! Unprofessional and if you claim to have employees and only use subs you should not work for Amazon. They too will feel my annoyance for spending 8 hours over 2 days.

I had 2 bedrooms setup with wall mounts. The tech worked an electric extension cord from behind the TV to the electric plug through the wall, so that it wouldn’t show cables hanging down. This is not only dangerous, against code, but it is illegal. I have an electrician fixing it now. So I’m out the money I paid to Hello tech, and now I’m paying to have it done correctly.

The tech was a very nice young man. He fixed the intitial problem and created more problems. As a resul,t we lost internet and phone service that was working properly before. I called the company and the telephone attendant advised it would be 3 or 4 days before they can return to correct the problem. A 3 or 4 day wait to correct a problem is very unacceptable. If your going to have to wait that long to fix their mistake, why call Hellotech?

Upon arriving 1 hour late than our scheduled appointment time for 10 a m. Robert called and said they will be late and said they should be there in 20 minutes. Well it was an hour late total. Two men were here and they were here for 2 hours and 15 minutes to mount a tv on our wall. The one kept talking and talking about his personal life. Also, neither had a stud finder and we had to borrow one from our neighbor. Also my husband lended them a wratchet which they didn't have either. Very unprofessional. Didn't seem like they knew what they were doing.

Jacob from HelloTech did not complete the job and left without explanation. He was very unprofessional. Sloppy jeans with zipper down, smelled like drugs, did not listen to where I wanted the video camera installed, did not connect to wifi and verify it was working and then left because he couldn't figure it out. I WOULD NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY OR SIMPLISAFE EVER AGIAN. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THE 200 VENDORS I WORK WITH.

I waited for two hours. The guy shows up and tells me he can't install my Ring system and leaves. When I was online I clearly stated that I wanted the Ring system installed and not just the doorbell. They quoted my a price for the total install and said they understood what I wanted. Bottom line is do not believe what these people tell you about either the price or the service.

Tech who I did not know called the Saturday prior to the Monday appointment wanting to move the appointment to Sunday. He then showed at 10:30 for 9:00 appointment. He could not locate the power strip the components were connected to inside the small cabinet. He took so long hooking up the WiFi that he kept asking to come back next Sunday (hung up on Sundays for some reason). I made a mistake calling them.

This company is a joke. I paid the extra $60 through Ring to have them hook up my new doorbell. They couldn't complete the install. They blamed it on the router - wrong. Then they said I needed a new transformer - wrong. All that needed done was the ring doorbell needed a hard reset, but by time I knew that they doorbell had already blown because too much power was being sent to it from the new transformer. Ring tried to get them to come back out for free aka waive the $50 and they refused. Ring also refused to waive the $50. Both are worthless. I recommend neither. Zero stars.

Two day install took over 7 hours, bought the tech a drill no reimbursement, tv was never mounted properly, tech got drywall everywhere. I have pics and video of all of it. My mount is pulling out of the wall. I have reported this 3 times with zero attempt at resolution.

I had a Horrible experience with this company HelloTech! I scheduled in December and had to wait until January! Mind you, Best Buy did the same thing and I told HelloTech what they did and they promised they’d show up! Here I sit today of installation and no one from HelloTech never called, text, emailed or showed up

Tech didn’t know what he was doing and dropped my smart door bell that was being installed and broke it. He took 2 hours to attempt to install and never finished the job. After breaking the doorbell, he apologized and left and I still got charged for the service.

The technician never called or spoke to me, the property owner and the person who created the order. They hung the tv in the wrong place. Now I have to deal with the holes in the wall and having another technician come out to fix the mistake.

I do not recommend I waited and waited. No show. Went to there chatroom who re-scheduled. The second tech did not show. The third tech after nine hours arrived and left after a minute after asking if I had a soundbar that he was looking at during the conversation and said he needed parts and never came back.

They billed me 3 times the quoted price, did a portion of the work and will not return my calls to resolve. I'm disputing the charges on my credit card to try and get someone to resolve from their company but I would NOT recommend them to anyone.

Stay far away from Hellotech. Hellotech damaged my front door when installing my SimplySafe system. I had to pay to have it repaired. I submitted the receipt 3 1/2 months ago and have never received reimbursement for the damages. I have called, and emailed the company. They are giving me the runaround now. They aren't honest.

I will never attempt to use you again. My experience... Your assigned tech called me 30 minutes after the starting time of the job. And didn't have the proper material. He was confused and dishonest about the situation. And then had to cancel. You wasted my entire morning.

Tech told me he was from London. He didn't complete task but said he'd return. I paid. Next 3 months my credit card had recurring bill from London. Hello Tech took no responsibility even after many calls. I finally had to dispute charges and close my credit card account.

Friendly no, straight to business yes. He was easy to reach but didn't tell me anything I didn't know when it came to the program not working on my computer. And I was still charged $70 even though nothing was fixed. I asked the representative if I would be charged if he can't fix the issue and she told me no. Evidently a lie.

If I could submit zero stars I would. He failed in every single way to mount our TV's successfully. He significantly damaged the areas he was working in. The entire job has to be redone, two walls, and a pipe need to be repaired. I will be expecting my money back.
