Top Ranked Companies
The Good
- Authorized Sunrun Partner
Authorized Sunrun Partner
As an authorized Sunrun partner, Sunwave Energy is able to provide customers with all the benefits, advantages, and options available to Sunrun customers. These include the following:
- Solar products — including high-efficiency solar panels from Canadian solar, solar inverters and monitoring from SolarEdge, and solar energy storage from Brightbox
- Warranties — including manufacturer warranties good for 25 years and a workmanship warranty good for 20 years. Customers will also enjoy a 10-year roof warranty on new roof installations.
- Financing options — including direct purchase, solar loans, solar leases, and power purchase agreements (PPA), as well as a prepayment lease option
The Bad
- Limited Availability
- No NABCEP Certification
Limited Availability
Sunwave Energy is only available in California and Nevada. As both states represent incredibly competitive residential solar markets and Sunwave Energy is a relatively new company, promoting verified Sunwave Energy reviews from trusted sites can be an effective way for the solar provider to stand out among the hundreds of rooftop installers across California and Nevada.
No NABCEP Certification
Sunwave Energy does not appear to be NABCEP-certified. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners issues some of the most widely regarded technician certification programs in the solar industry. Companies with this designation distinguish themselves as true experts in solar technology and solar installation.
While the lack of a certification does not imply poor installation quality on the part of Sunwave Energy, its presence can be the difference maker for homeowners comparing multiple solar companies.
The Bottom Line
Although Sunwave Energy is a relatively new company, its partnership with trusted provider Sunrun represents a solid endorsement of its products, services, and financing options. In essence, the only differences between Sunrun and Sunwave Energy centers on Sunwave’s local expertise, technician experience level, and cost of installation.
If you live in California or Nevada and would like to work with a local solar company with the resources of a nationally recognized company, Sunwave Energy might be the right company for you. As always, we encourage homeowners to read the latest Sunwave Energy reviews before choosing a solar provider.
