My igniter went out on my gas oven. A day was scheduled for estimate. Two days later the technician returned with the part and the repair was complete in 15 minutes.

It varies. I had an issue w/my washer, and a technician came right away. However, there was a part needed. The communication was terrible about this and when I called to address with a manager, I never got a callback. as a busy executive, I do not have time to chase people for something I pay for. There needs to be a better system in place.

Excellent presentation, except speaks too rapidly. Also, had me sold, until he tried to push the 3-6 year pay in advance option. If your premium goes up, I’ll go somewhere else.

Choice home warranty been an awful company to deal with. They don't follow their own terms and conditions, and simply deny service when needed with no further justification. They don't follow up with the technicians they hire when those technicians stop calling and showing up for the work. They have refused to support their customer when the technicians raise the price for a shared cost to their customer after it was quoted, but before any other visit or repair was started. Once they have you locked in they don't even attempt to support you, their customer. The worst home warranty company I've dealt with, and I've dealt with many. Go with a competitor.

Our A/C compressor went out due to "normal wear & tear" per Choice Home Warranty's own selected A/C service company TopAir. Choice Home Warranty then disputed it's own technician's findings, and somehow determined by someone in their office who had never laid eyes on our unit that it "most certainly shorted to ground due to a power surge or electric storm, which was something they were unable to cover". Again questioned the TopAir technician who reiterated to us that there was no indication of short to ground in his report to CHW and that normal wear & tear was the unit's cause of failure. Numerous appeals got us nowhere, as CHW just regurgitated it's initial claim denial. We have since learned that CHW has had over 7000 complaints filed with the BBB for fraudulent business practices. Their customer service managers read their scripts and cite the company line. Use any home warranty company but Choice Home Warranty. They do not deserve a single star.

Initial response with agent was terrific. Since then nothing is happening. With the problem affecting the drive way , because of no action , I am having troub]le parking . The visiting agent informs me that a detailed report has been submitted with a recomendation not to park in the area for safety sake. Now he also claims that he has repeatedly contacted you about the claim, and nothing is being done. I paid for this protection and it should be taken care of!!

It's really a mixture, but I have only used twice and u have attended to my needs, but I didn't agree with how the cs treated the technician. It was uncall for. Even if he states what he charges, then you all just explain what u all do and leave it at that. I make the final decision if I accept or not.

I had a claim with Choice Home warranty and the claim was filed early in June and we were discussing the claim when my contract expired on June 30. I was told by the dispute department that if I did not sign up for an additional month that my claim would be voided out. I told the person in the dispute office that I was not going to resign so she voided out all info.
I called to discuss the matter because they had charge my credit card an additional month without my permission.
I have never experienced any thing like this.
The amount they owe me is $245 but now they say they owe me nothing.

Today I called for the first time to get a quote and buy a home warranty coverage after I did some research and the two people that I spoke with were not only rude but hung up on me. I had paid for the service and the guy was trying to sell me something different and then I had already given him my credit card and he got upset that I said no to the upsell and hung up on me. The worst customer service because the first guy I spoke to Gary h. or something like that was so rude and so unbecoming that I hung up and called to get somebody different and didn’t want to buy a policy from him. I have already paid For the annual service starting July 30 and that’s a shame because I would’ve never made the purchase if the man would’ve continuously talk to me on the phone. Fix your customer service men on the phone.

No stars!! This was a plan that I purchased when I bought an older home thinking this would provide me a safety net but as with many things that seem too good to be true this too has proven to have been a poor investment as it has not covered ANY of the needed repairs to systems that have failed. My pipes burst - not covered and the plumbers sent out seemed less that qualified. The AC unit that was new but not the blower unit is over 30 years old and failing NOT covered with the lame excuse that rust shows a lack of maintenance on my part. My having purchased the home when this blower unit was already rusted and old and reading the sales pitch saying how costly this repair is and that it is covered is a misrepresentation since despite my appeal it is not. So NO STARS as this service has been a total waste of money. I’m feel ripped off!!

It’s a good warranty but do not like that parts were not included at time of purchase. They are now, However they would not honor or amend my policies which I took for more than three years. They say I have to pay extra. Normal companies will honor the change in policies. So if your policy is a year old keep in mind parts are not included.

Put on your tennis shoes and run as far away as possible from Choice Home Warranty…they are nothing but a SCAM COMPANY! We only wished that we had checked the yelp and Google’s reviews before agreeing to purchased CHW for $1875.00, plus a service call fee: $45.00. Only if we had checked the many 1 stars reviews that they have received from customers who was scammed just as we did, we would’ve seen the hundreds of complains, regarding the same issues that we are having with CHW today.
Our Coverage Total Plan includes: Clothes dryer, Clothes Washer, Refrigerator, AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, Heating system, Water Heater, Electrical System, Plumbing System, Plumbing Storage, Built-in Microwave, Oven/Range, Stove, Cooktop, Dishwasher, Garbage Disposal, Ceiling & Exhaust Fans, Ductwork, Garage Door Opener, Whirlpool Bathtub.
Sound like a good deal right! Well during our scheduled air conditioning maintenance, the Tech told us that the coil has a leak and we should get it fix ASAP. We called CHW, they sent out a sub contractor technician who checked the system and straight out told us that CHW wouldn’t pay for the repairs, he claims that he’s having issues with them paying for other claims as ours. He took our $45.00, and said he would call us if, CHW approved the repairs.
Its been days that we are calling and waiting for someone to come out to do the repairs. First, they claimed that they wouldn’t pay for the repairs, because we weren’t servicing our air conditioner as required! We proved to them that we have a contract with Airtron Heating & Air Conditioning and they serviced the unit twice a year, with that info, they change their tone, but continue to refused to pay for the repairs. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put in contact with Andrew P, he said everything besides agreeing to pay for the repairs…I called again spoke with a Mr. May, explain to him the issues and told him about speaking to Andrew and not having any success with getting CHW to pay for the repair of the air conditioner, I asked if, there was someone in a higher position than Andrew, he said yes, he then put me on hold for about 15 minutes, came back and told me that Andrew was the person who makes the final decision on all warranty coverage.
Bottom-line…do your research, and checkout the one stars reviews…CHW sounds good, they give it to you in written, but if the repairs costs more that a few dollars, they’ll find all excuses not to pay for the claims.

I dislike the way the appointments are set up with contractors; both times I filed a claim in the past few weeks the appointments /claims were either not received by the repair contractor or the time was wrong, Also there should be more specific list of what is covered and not and these contractors should know or be able to find out within minutes once diagnosed rather then having to come back once they find out in 24-48 hours later, this is a major inconvenience to your customers.

What a frustrating experience when original was cancelled but still showed and couldn't do the work d/t not being assigned and he wasn't informed he had been cancelled...Then given another week to wait ..we could have just done it on our own without the waiting and having increased power bill from AC unit not working right with 2 week delay as well as poor cool ing problem. The 2nd person assigned said not even heard of Choice/ was not a vendor for them....crazy!!!
The 3rd person that came was great yet no benefit from CHW as problem not meeting requirements..

My washer was down from 6/15 till today 6/25, till today there is no clue on the ETA when it will be fixed. they say they want to get an update from the technician.
I created the case on 6/15, the technician visits us on 6/16, he recommends it is tough to fix and hard to get the parts.
he explained that the ideal situation is to replace the washer and he sends the pictures to CHW. CHW comes back and says to fix the repair and not to replace the washer.
that is fine but they approved the repair to the technician on 6/21.
to make the approval it took 5 days. after that it 5 days still didn't get any update.
Considering the situation I proposed a solution they didn't buy in the situation, they focus only on their profit.
I am a customer of them for more than 3 years.

My experience is awful. I purchased a warranty with "unlimited replacement" in the event that the appliance could not be repaired. This did not turn out to be the case. I recently had 2 appliances (washer and dish washer) that could not be repaired. Choice offered me between 1/3 and 1/2 of the cost to replace the washer via an egift card from Lowes that would not be sent by email for 30 days. I appealed the amount, the case manager added an additional amount but it was less than half of what it cost me to replace the washer with a system with like capabilities. They did approve payment in the form of a check. The dishwasher is still not resolved, the case manager did not send me contact information with 24 hours, did not respond to numerous voice mails, email messages form customer service or another case manager. A new case manager was assigned and I did receive a call 2 days later. I have left several message for him and have yet to hear back. The offer on the dishwasher is currently less that half of the replacement cost. This policy is a joke. I was lied to when I purchased it and Choice does not live up to the language in the contract " We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity and efficiency, but not for matching dimensions, brand or color". Less than half of the appliance cost is provided, no delivery, installation or old appliance hall away is included. I plan to go to the BBB, Angies list and as many consumer review sources as I can find to let others know that Choice is not honest and does not live up to the contract terms. Very disappointing.

I wish we could talk to an actual person. I wish they would offer a few companies not just choose for you. Sometimes the money that they give you is in a gift card and it doesn't usually cover the whole cost of even a basic appliance. Overall I feel we are happy overall but there are areas for improvement.

I have a home warranty with Choice Home Warranty. On 01/18/2022 I filed a claim because my furnace was not working. The claim was filed early morning. At 11:30 a technician came to my property and diagnosed the issue. The induction motor had failed and needed to be replaced. They contacted Choice Home Warranty. Choice Home Warranty Denied the claim. They indicated that the failure was due to water damage. I contacted the technician. They informed me that there were no indications of water damage and that wasn't the cause of the failure. They contacted Choice Home Warranty, and Choice said their determination to deny the claim was made and they weren't going to change. I contacted Choice Home Warranty to reiterate that their determination was incorrect. They told me there was nothing that they could do at the time. I would need to file an appeal. I filed the appeal. I was told they had 24 hours to assign a case manager. I contacted them today several times but was told they could not transfer me to a case manager, that I had to wait until the case manager contacts me. I have no heat in my home. The low tonight is 10 degrees F and 5 degrees F tomorrow. My pipes are going to freeze and I'm going to suffer major property damage because of Choice Home Warranty's inaccurate declination of my claim. I tried to contact a plumber to winterize my home but they are all booked up as well. I am going to try and do it myself, but I've never done it before, and don't know if I'm able to do it as thoroughly as a profession. This is an emergency situation and after multiple attempts contacting Choice Home Warranty, they keep informing me that there's nothing they can do. I simply have to wait for a Case Manager to contact me. I don't have time for that, this is an emergency situation.

Liars, cheaters and thieves. The vendors they send are those "white truck" guys with no credentials, no website, and no ethics. The first time I used the warranty was to repair my ice maker. It took 3 appointments to find a vendor...."a white truck guy". He was shady, but he fixed it, and low an behold the first batch of ice comes out and one of the cubes has a screw in it!! No kidding! The second time I used the warranty was to get a plumber to fix my hot water heater. I called in Feb. of 2021 and it took until April to get someone out. And he was another no-name white truck guy. Choice denied my claim because the heater had "sediment" and that meant it was not maintained properly. Really? If that's the measure, than no one qualifies to get a water heater replaced under this warranty. So I had to argue with a "manager" and they paid for the labor and I bought the hot water heat. Whatever! When the plumber came he had a "helper" with him to install the heater; a kid who just turned 18 with not an ounce of sense. The proceeded to put their dirty hands all over the walls going up my stairs. When they took the old heater down, the "kid" tried to do it himself, didn't wrap it or anything and dirty, rusty water came pouring out and all over my wool carpet! Oh, and did I mention the plumber arrived at 8pm and was in my house until 11:30pm!! Then I had to fight with plumber to get a carpet cleaner out to fix my carpet. I still have hand prints on the walls. Now, I have a fan motor out on my A/C unit, of course on a Saturday. The "white truck guy" showed up at 5:30 on Monday, took pics and said he would submit the info to warranty company for repair. Everyone has to get authorization...of course (eye roll). Well, it's Wednesday and the repair has has sent nothing to Choice. Now I'm the one who has to bug the repair man. I'm the one who has to call Choice and get them to help me get this fixed in a timely manner. What is infuriating is Choice has no rules for how theses yawhoo's operate. They can take as long as they want to get the diagnosis to Choice...they have no obligation to expediate your service. The repair companies have no time frame or time limits set by Choice to complete a job. It's solely up to the repairman when they person wants to work on your issue. This is one of the plethora of problems with Choice, they take no responsibility. Choice is happy take your money, but when you can't get something fixed, or taken care of in a timely manner, like having your A/C not working in Houston, Texas in June, they throw their hands in the air and say it's not out fault. Their favorite line is, these repair people don't "work for us". Well, I call BS on that. Choice is supposed to provide a service...here's what their website says, "We believe Choice Home Warranties are the most comprehensive, flexible and value-priced on the market. We do everything we can to help you get back on track - that's the difference." So Choice, really??? Everything? How do they have the never to print that. It's such a bald face lie. The smartest thing a homeowner can do is put that money you would pay to Choice in a savings account and build a repair nest egg that draws interest. If and when a repair comes, you're ready for it. You don't have to put up with "white truck guys" who show up after office hours because they are servicing their direct customers first and do the warranty jobs last...because they pay less. I have another entire story about a conversation I had with a Choice "manager" about getting a refund on my unused warranty. Basically, you can't! But her logic for who her math worked and why I can't get any money back was hysterically mind-boggling and sad at the same time. Keep your money in your pocket. Don't do this...EVER!
You're welcome.

It took 6 days for CHW to give the OK to replace my water heater. It seemed that the only time I got a response or had any progress was when I emailed them and complained or threatened to cancel our policy! I hope that this was just an anomaly instead of the norm!

I am somewhat disappointed with this Program. I have been with you for almost 2 years. The truth is if it’s easy then you pay $85 but if it’s more complicated there’s a lot of fine print. And if I had known that going into it I probably wouldn’t of signed up. It’s sneaky and deceptive. My microwave shorted out and I get this thing back saying you’ll approve a fuse but you won’t fix the handle or replace it if it doesn’t work which is what you promised you’ve got an escape clause for everything .

I phoned in the claim and it was easy and as fast as could be expected. This is my second claim and the first was handled quickly and completely to my satisfaction.

I like the quick response in getting contractors to setup appointments. I don’t like the increase in copayment. I guess it is the sign of the times. I still was disappointed.

Have always been satisfied with CHW, but the last experience with the ceiling fan installation turned me off royally! You will really need to impress me this time in order to gain my Allegiance back...

Customer service is excellent in responding to member needs and very willing to explain the process. My only disappointment was the time it takes to receive reimbursement for an appliance replacement.

I recently submitted a request for service for my AC unit. It took 12 hours to have the request assigned to a service professional. Then it was another 1.5 days until I received service. This is a long time when your AC is not working and it is 97 degrees outside.

CHW is reasonably priced, but I feel like the service is extremely slow. If I have a broken appliance, I want a technician to come within 1-3 days, not 5-7 days. It's an extreme inconvenience for the monthly service I am paying for.
