The Good

Buying a gift basket or tower from Costco is streamlined. The selection is easy to shop through online and can be filtered by occasion, type of basket or tower, price and brand. This filtering allows most of the results to be delivered on one page, making it easy to compare between the different products. The website has an additional tool which makes comparisons even more friendly in that up to four products can be selected and then compared side-by-side. To compare products, simply click the radio box underneath the product image and then click "Compare" at the top of the page. The results are easy to read and comparisons are simple and straightforward. Shipping and handling for many of the gift baskets or towers is included in the price displayed. This can save customers a considerable amount of money when shipping to multiple locations. When shopping for gift baskets, each one is well described with zoom capabilities on the pictures. One can read the shipping terms (and expected delivery times), get a complete listing of what is included in the basket, read about the refund and return policy and see other customer reviews. The pricing for gift baskets and towers at Costco is much lower than that for the competition. The quantity of items in the baskets is comparable to the competition, so it is reasonable to say that you will get more bang for your buck shopping for gift baskets and towers from Costco.

The Bad

Costco has a limited selection of products compared to other companies. These baskets and towers are preassembled and do not offer any personalization. Additionally, to purchase a gift basket or tower from Costco, one must be a member of a Costco warehouse to avoid being charged a non-member surcharge of 5%.

The Bottom Line

With the lower prices, quantity of items in the baskets and liberal free shipping policy, our review team found it easy to recommend Costco as a go-to source to purchase gift baskets and towers. While the warehouse stores have limited forms of payment which are accepted, Costco.com accepts all major credit cards and the Costco Cash Card. For those needing more specific gift baskets, another store may be your best bet, but for the bulk of most people's needs, Costco is a solid option for your gift basket and tower business.
