Family Search has been such a useful tool in helping me research my family roots. I have been able to see actual documents that my ancestors have signed and that makes me feel such a connection to people I have never met.

Love family search- it is a great way to do family history work and find your ancestry! The only thing is that I wish it was possible to transfer data from family search from one LDS account to another, because I accidentally made two accounts.

I love family search! It has been so awesome to discover more about my family history. One of my favorite features is the “relatives around me” on the mobile app, where I can see who I am related to around me if they have family search as well!

I use them all the time. Service is free and they have a large data base. They provide hints to additional documentation. They only negative is that others are working on the same tree and anyone can make changes to individuals, which are not always correct.

I use family search weekly and spend quite a bit of time teaching others to use it. Overall, I think it is fantastic, but every once in a while there are glitches when you use it with Chrome. If you switch to another browser, they usually get worked out though. (this is a free service)

One of the most challenging parts of this is that if someone has a connection to my relatives, that person can change things that I know are correct. Verifying information would be tremendously difficult, but it would make the quality much better.

Where to start! Their search engine works 1% of the time. It appears they are using 2-3 DIFFERENT search engines, when you try and add a family member that you found via one engine on their site, that person will not be on the others and FORGET adding them to your tree because that feature either does not exist or out right does not work. Nothing on this site seems to function on either IE nor Chrome. Move on, I repeat move on and never look back

I have the greatest respect for all the time and effort that went into copying all those records. They have been of great help to me in documenting my genealogy. However, it infuriates me to find people adding people to a tree that the most basic research would show do not belong there. This has happened to me more than once, and as a result I really don't trust this site very much. I am giving a 3 only because of the documented material. The trees themselves would get a big 0.

I admire the long work being done with this site but the major problem I found with my own personal search is a lot of the information is incorrect. For example I looked up my grandmother. According to family search she married her father her sisters name was spelled wrong, one sibling was missing and another was said to be deceased when I knew very well he is alive and well. When people can add things as they want there is a problem of inaccuracies. It was also a pain in the butt trying to correct the information.
