• Manageability: The domain-name management platform provides smooth interaction with customers' domain name portfolio. The platform is web-based, easy to use and integrates seamlessly.
• Performance: By using Anycast and Unicast, CSC provides protection against DDoS attacks and other unforeseen incidents. The systems also have fault tolerance and excellent response times.

The Bad

If customers want pricing information on DNS services, get ready for a frustrating process. One won't find this information online. Instead, customers have to fill out a form online and wait for a customer service representative to respond. There is no definitive timetable for how long one will wait for a response. Also, prices vary depending on customer selections. CSC has only operated the DNS line of business since 2013, so experience in this area is lacking. Though the company as a whole has an obvious advantage of a long history, the DNS arm does not. There are still growing pains and learning curves that customers may wish to avoid and would be enticed to seek another provider.

The Bottom Line

CSC is a strong, long-established company that provides a plethora of services and products. It is almost as though is has spread itself too thin, though, leaving the DNS services lacking in some areas such as customer service and variety of DNS service offerings. Customers would do well to consider other companies first.
