You have managed to get concert tickets for great seats at an even better price for one of your favorite musicians. Now it’s time to make sure that the event is as exciting as you hope it will be by using these three keys.
Ask yourself these questions:
Is the concert inside or outside?
If it’s outside, you’ll want to pay attention to the weather forecast. If it’s going to be sunny, bring sunglasses and sunscreen. If it might rain, be prepared. Most stores have compact plastic ponchos that easily slip into a small bag.
Where are the closest exits and entrances to your seating?
Knowing the closest exits can help you find your seats faster and navigate the venue with greater ease. It also will prove useful in case of an emergency.
Music concerts are all about singing favorite songs and dancing to great music with friends and other fans. You’ll want to have water on hand. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes so that you can move freely. You may also want to bring earplugs. The music will be loud enough, so there’s no need to worry about being able to hear. Using earplugs can help prevent later hearing loss. Chapstick is also a good idea.
Bring a fully-charged cell phone to take pictures and videos. You never know when you'll have an opportunity for a great photo to share with your friends later on social media. Most concerts have vendors that sell souvenirs. Take some extra money to buy some concert gear or an album.
Of course, it goes without saying: Don’t forget your tickets!
Decide if you’re going to drive or use public transportation. Big events always mean a heavy traffic and limited parking. If you’re driving, research nearby parking options to determine the optimal location for cost and distance. Have a few options in mind just in case your prefered choice is already full when you arrive.
It may make sense to use public transportation instead, or a combination of driving and public transportation to avoid traffic.
Plan to arrive early to the concert. It is best to get there when the doors open, especially if you have general admission tickets or if it’s first-come first-served. Getting there early will also ensure that you don't miss out on any special guests or meet-and-greet time.
