Virtual Post Mail provides mailbox and address services for businesses and individuals. With Tru Lease physical address options, virtual mailbox services, and multiple locations, the company is in the upper price point for the industry, with premium services that other companies do not offer.
Virtual Post Mail does not use third-party partners like UPS or Mail Stores. The company also does not have a centralized sorting or forwarding facility. Mail is sorted and scanned at the address listed. This means faster processing for customers as well as more convenient pickup.
The company offers a service (Tru Lease) where customers can pay for an address. Virtual Post Mail provides a lease agreement and address that customers can use as the physical address of the business and bundle virtual mailbox services with it. Anytime Mailbox and other companies also have physical locations, but may include this with the service bundles, not charging separately in a formal lease.
The company’s website states that mail is processed (sorted and scanned, etc) the same day. This helps customers who have time sensitive inquiries, checks, or other priority mail needs.
The company’s plans start at $20 per month, and include only 25 pieces of mail. Unlimited plans start at $35 or more, for unlimited mail pieces per month. This is much higher than many competitors, whose unlimited plans are in the $9.99–$15.99 range. The Tru Lease plan starts at $100 per month. US Global Mail has cheaper options ($9.99, $14.99) with fewer restrictions, while Earth Class Mail has similar restrictions and price points ($20 per month and up).
Customers have commented that it takes a long time for the virtual mailboxes to load and that this can be frustrating. This could be owing to the massive amounts of data — photos particularly — on the platform, or the website technology itself. Whichever is the case, it is something the company could improve, as customers with multiple mail items to review and organize don’t want to spend inordinate amounts of time waiting just for files to load. Other companies, like Earth Class Mail, have had similar complaints from customers.
Virtual Post Mail does not have an app for mobile devices, which would be more convenient and accessible. However, it does not appear that this is standard in the industry, as other companies do not provide mobile apps either.
Virtual Post Mail seems to be middle-of-the-road as far as comparable services go, yet has one of the most restrictive plans at a higher price point. It’s unclear what the tradeoff is for these limitations and the pricing; so it may be just as well to use an alternative like industry veterans US Global Mail or Earth Class Mail.
