The Good

• Affordable Prices
• Technological Tools
• Availability
• Subjects Offered
• Tutor Qualification

Affordable Prices

Chegg Tutors offers both weekly and monthly pricing plans. Students can choose to pay $15 for 30 minutes of tutoring each week or $30 for an hour of tutoring each month. Students may also add extra tutoring time for an additional 50¢ per minute. These prices are extremely competitive when compared to those offered by other top tutoring companies. In addition, after the initial signup, students may switch to a different weekly, monthly, or pay-as-you-go plan at any time.

Technological Tools

Different students have different learning styles, and Chegg Tutors understands that. As a result, the company provides a suite of technological tools to better cater to each individual student, simplify online learning, and promote higher overall success. Available tools include both text and audio chat features, video conferencing capabilities, a shared whiteboard space for students and tutors to collaborate on lessons and assignments, and an online file sharing system.

Availability

Chegg Tutors works hard to accommodate the busy schedules of high school and college students by offering around-the-clock access to tutors. Students can log in at any time and either schedule a time to meet with the tutor or ask a question right then, which is a nice feature for those who would prefer a more flexible tutoring setting.

Subjects Offered

When it comes to the number of tutoring subjects offered, Chegg Tutors is second to none-the company provides tutoring services for over 500 different subjects. Students can receive help with math, English, foreign languages, science, and social studies. Chegg Tutors also offers test prep for a number of exams, including the ACT, the SAT, the LSAT, the GRE, the GMAT, and the MCAT.

Tutor Qualification

Chegg Tutors has hundreds of experienced tutors online, available to help students at any time. The company requires each of its tutors to have previous tutoring or teaching experience and to be enrolled in or graduated from a four-year university. Further, each tutor on Chegg Tutors has been reviewed and approved by the company's student success team, so customers can be confident that they are going to be working with a qualified, experienced, and approved instructor.

The Bad

• Limited Grade Levels
• No In-Person Tutoring

Limited Grade Levels

As stated before, Chegg Tutors places its focus on providing help for high school and college students. Because of this, the company does not offer any tutoring services for students below grade nine. Elementary or middle school students in need of tutoring will need to look elsewhere.

No In-Person Tutoring

Although some students have no problem with online learning, others would prefer to receive tutoring help in person. Unfortunately, these students will need to seek other options; the company's tutoring services are strictly available online.

The Bottom Line

Chegg Tutors is an experienced company that offers affordable prices, several technological tools, 24/7 availability, tutoring programs for over 500 subjects, and highly qualified instructors. However, the company places its focus on high school and college students and only offers tutoring services for those grade levels. Additionally, Chegg Tutors does not offer in-person tutoring. If you or your child is a high school or college student that would like to take advantage of an affordable online tutoring program, Chegg Tutors may be a good option.
