Technology

CheapOair has created an online travel agency platform that allows travelers to find affordable and complete vacation deals at a discounted rate. CheapOair gathers and filters travel information through its innovative data collection technology and presents the most relevant search results, making it an easy travel site for travelers to navigate and book their reservations.

Travel Accommodations

CheapOair allows travelers to book nearly every aspect of their pending travel online, over the phone, or through its mobile app. Those who use CheapOair to book their travel accommodations can reserve the following:

  • Flights
  • Hotels
  • Car rentals
  • Cruises
  • Vacations packages

CheapOair gives its customers the ability to book online or over the phone, though users should know that a service fee may be larger if booked over the phone. The company also offers forms of travel insurance for travelers who want it.

Search Engine Functionality

CheapOair's search engine functionality is one of the best in the industry. Many customers have reported that they saved money with a cheap flight by using this functionality. Other site features that travelers may find useful include the following:

  • Flight Watcher — Look for the cheapest flights at the most desirable departure/arrival times
  • Seat Selector — Pick and reserve your seat on designated flights with participating airlines
  • Trip Manager — After reserving trip accommodations like a vacation package, manage tickets and other booking details from a mobile device
  • Deal Browser — With mobile-exclusive deals, travelers can browse discounts on vacations and reservations

The site also offers a way to do a flight search with flexible travel dates. This feature helps users to find the best deal possible, three days before and after your selected travel date, and usually results in a cheaper flight.

Reviews

Both CheapOair's online and mobile platforms allow users to read and conduct further research through the help of reviews. Reviews are left by travelers who have stayed in prospective hotels or traveled using specific airlines and can help customers narrow their search and find the best accommodations for their trip.

Competitive Rewards Plan

Customers can earn travel discounts and gift cards by consistently booking with CheapOair’s rewards program. Once you sign up, there is a tiered rewards points system. Users can earn more points per transaction with each successive booking. They can even get $25 for referring a friend.

Rewards members get up to 20 percent off flights and up to 55 percent off hotel bookings, six times reward points for every booking, and an account history to easily reference your upcoming or previous reservations.

Shoppers planning to return should know that you can earn two to six times more points when you book through the mobile app.

A CheapOair credit card is also available to help earn points towards future airfare or reservations in addition to the rewards program. Both options, the CheapOair Visa Credit Card and the CheapOair Visa Signature Credit Card issued by Synchrony Bank, offer several benefits:

  • Earn 1 Member Reward Point and 6 Credit Card Reward Points for every $1 spent with the card on CheapOair.com
  • Earn 4 points for every dollar spent on dining
  • Earn 2 points for every dollar spent anywhere else

Six months of special financing is also available.

  • Emergency card replacement
  • Emergency cash disbursement
  • Roadside dispatch

CheapOair Visa Signature

  • Lost luggage reimbursement
  • Trip cancellation/interruption

The Bad

  • Limited Car Models
  • Customer Service and Fees
  • Rewards Restrictions
  • Cancellation Policy

Limited Car Models

CheapOair doesn't have many options available when it comes to rental car models. Most of the cars offered are economy class, which doesn't give customers the option to select a more luxurious vehicle if they want to be a bit more comfortable during their ride.

Customer Service and Fees

Even though CheapOair has tried to keep the feel of agency booking, it does cost to do this. CheapOair has 24/7 customer service, but the issue is, while getting immediate, human-based assistance, you may rack up some fees. It costs more money to book over a phone call with a booking agent than through the website, as well as a few other things, like cancellations or attaining a refund. Trips booked over the phone may incur more significant service fees.

CheapOair charges service fees on its transactions:

  • Air tickets up to $35 per passenger, per ticket
  • Hotel reservations up to $32 per night, per room
  • Car rental up to $25 per rental

The booking fees may be much more if you book over the phone with a customer support travel agent, choose specific vacation packages, upgrade to business class or first-class fare, or plan on multi-city airfare trips. Fees are also subject to change.

Reward Restrictions

CheapOair does offer a rewards plan to those who enroll in its membership program (enrollment is free and can be completed entirely online). Still, there are some restrictions and a point system that travelers should be aware of. The point system is broken down as follows:

  • Flights — Earn 1 point per every $1 spent on a flight
  • Hotels — Earn 3 points for every $1 spent on a hotel room
  • Car rentals — Earn 3 points for every $1 spent on a car rental
  • Vacation deals — Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on trip "extras"

Points can be earned simply for signing up (up to 500 points upon enrollment), but a high number of points is required to save on hotel reservations. Further, points can only be redeemed on certain hotel chain reservations.

Cancellation Policy

CheapOair and its contractors charge a cancellation fee ranging from $100 to $250, making it very expensive to cancel bookings and thus limiting the size of the refund you can get when you do cancel.

Most airline tickets available on CheapOair are non-refundable. It is up to the airline. If cancelation is approved, a credit can be put toward a future ticket. However, most of the time, this type of credit comes with an expiration date. So, if you don’t book within the proper time frame, your refund is gone.

Additionally, most bookings and service fees are non-refundable after 24 hours.

Trip protection can be canceled within 10 days of purchase if your travel hasn’t happened.

Within 24 hours of booking, customers can contact a CheapOair representative to cancel and get a refund, but they will pay $50 in cancellation fees for domestic flights and $75 for international, first-class, or business class flights. After 24 hours, economy tickets cost $50 to cancel with a future credit, while business and first-class tickets cost $100 to cancel, with the rest being refunded to future credit.

If you don’t want credit for a future flight, the cancellation fee is $100 for the domestic economy and $250 for international economy flights and all business and first-class tickets. Additionally, fees for changing your tickets range from $100 to $250.

Special offers, discounts, or cancelation rates are available for military personnel, natural disasters, the bereaved, and the visually impaired.

Cancellations with the company can only be handled over the phone with customer service or a cancellation request form.

gavel

The Bottom Line

CheapOair uses innovative data collection technology to help customers book several different travel accommodations, including flights, hotels, rental cars, cruises, and vacation packages. The company provides search engine functionality and traveler reviews to help users find exactly what they are looking for, so finding cheap tickets and hotel reservations are easy. CheapOair stands out from the competition because it has a vast network of resources thanks to its parent company Fareportal, which has been in business since 1976.

Joining CheapOair for the rewards program can help you get a great deal while getting the credit card offers you the opportunity to earn even more points towards future online booking savings.

However, if you do end up booking travel accommodations and then decide to cancel the reservation, you can expect to pay a steep fee. Also, CheapOAir's car models are limited, and its rewards program is somewhat restrictive.

STAY AWAY! Absolutely the WORST travel company I have dealt with. I wasted hours trying to rebook with my travel credit that was issued during covid. They are trying to charge me more for the tickets than the online price and have imposed more restrictions than required by the airlines that issued the travel credit. $4,000 of my money went down the drain. I am in the process of filing complaints and legal action. Attached to my Google review are screenshots from British Airways website confirming that travel credit deadline was extended and that regular pricing and terms apply to booking with travel credit as that which applies to new bookings. Another technique this company uses is to place you on very long waits (hours) while you are on the call and then drop the call. They also call you, no one speaks and then you get an email for their records that they attempted to call you back.

The worst experience ever as a frequent traveler. I cancelled a flight i bought with them and the terms were that i would be credited the full amount for another destination. But when i came to use the credit it was perfectly IMPOSSIBLE to do so. Their system blocked me from using the credit. When you call them on the phone you end up in an indian call center. they are the most unprofessional people you will ever deal with. They laughed off my credit and would not allow me to use it unless i pay AGAIN for my flight. Then they just hung up on me. Now i am disputing the charges with my credit card. It seems this merchant is deliberately defrauding people with this bogus credit scheme. DO NOT DEAL WITH CHEAPOAIR you will regret it.

I booked a roundtrip ticket from Los Angeles to overseas on Feb. 2022 through cheapoair.com flying with Aeroflot. 2 Weeks later, US government banned this airline flying to or from USA. So, I called Cheapoair for a full refund and rep., who answered from another country named Harried, with bad accent and dogs barking in the background. Eventually, transferred to supervisor desk and person named Tushar told me that "airline has to refund your money but not us"(which is not true). He told me to call back in 24 hours because he was sending them email.I was calling them for next few days and been told same thing from 3 other supervisors. The last supervisor put me on hold for almost 1 hour to contact airline and told me she was unable to contact.Same time, while i was on hold, I called the airline myself from different phone and talked to the Aeroflot rep, who told me that I had to get my money back from the place of the purchase. It was total nightmare dealing with this company because the way they handle it makes me feel that I am not in USA,and this company is seems like scam. I didn't get my money back yet, which I saved for 2 year to buy this tickets.New tickets with different airline is $1000 more then I paid for because dates are closer. Fight is ongoing and I would not let the company owner enjoy my money in New York City. Stay away from this company. It was my mistake to not check the reviews before booking trough cheapoair.com. Many negative reviews for 2022.

Cheapoair Ripped me off! I paid nearly $1000 for a round trip flight from the US to Barcelona and the Mediterranean. When COVID initially hit, they canceled my flights as all airlines did, but when I asked for my money back they said they can't and won't accommodate, but they'll "allow' me to reschedule at a later date when called back to reschedule, they kept me on hold for HOURS, dropped my call, I called back again and waited for hours again when I finally connected to a rep, they were super unprofessional and rude, I explained that I wanted to reschedule they said the ticket has no longer has value and just like that the STOLE my money. This is unacceptable, I'll certainly make complaints to the BBB and Department Of Transportation and will not stop until they make it right. I can't imagine how many more people they did it to, total consumer abuse, appalling and shameful.

My wife and my 18 month old son(who is asthmatic) and 6 year old daughter(who has some underline health issues) traveled to Guyana to see her grandmother who was on her death bed. They were suppose to return back to Canada on January 4 2022 but due to them doing a covid test and it coming back positive, they had to quarantine which they called cheapoair to inform them and they advice them to call back when they're finished isolating and they will book them another flight to return back to Canada. Since then we've been calling cheapoair almost every day 10 times so far to get a new flight book for them and everytime the Rep tells us they will call us back within 24 hours and never get a call from them and we keep calling them. Last time we called they hanged up on us. We called again for the 12 time and AGAIN were told same thing other reps has told us that they will call us back within 24hours which is very upsetting because they never do and they said they were waiting to hear back from the air lines for some reason. The problem is my son is asthmatic and his puffer is almost done and my daughter is also not healthy and have to return back to Canada to do a routine check and refill the puffer. If anything happens to my children I swear I'll sue cheapoair for EVERY penny they have and put them out of business. We will NEVER EVER EVER use cheapoair again as long as we live and advice others not to either. It's been almost a weak and half since we've been trying to get this resolved and my wife and kids are basically being held hostage in Guyana by cheapoair.

In November 18th, 2021, I bought a ticket on Cheapoair.com to fly with American Airlines from New York to Bangkok. I paid using Paypal. Hours later I received an email saying my Paypal was denied, something untrue once the full payment was already on hold at my Paypal an at my credit card. I called Cheapoair, and after a long time, they finally told me the problem was that the company (American Airlines) didn't accept Paypal. They told me to go online again and enter my credit card number directly. I unfortunately did it. They then charged my credit card for the ticket AGAIN. Hours later I received another email saying the flight wasn't available anymore and offering another flight with Turkish Airlines. I NEVER accepted this option. Nonetheless, they charged me AGAIN for this ticket. It took me hours on the phone with many different people on Cheapoair.com, with no reasonable explanation on why I was charged for something I never accepted and for they to finally tell me the money would be reimbursed. It has been almost two months and the reimbursement wasn't received till now. The two charges for American Airlines, put on hold on my credit card, were released after almost a month, but the charge for the Turkish Airlines ticket wasn't received till now. Cheapoair told me it would be no more than 14 days and almost 2 months have passed. They clearly asked me for my credit card number to be able to charge me directly for whatever, as they did. They put you on a lot of stress in order for you to try to solve the problems they created. I spent hours on the phone! They keep transfer you to other people and you have to tell the story all over again. Cheapoair.com robbed me, taking my money for something I never bought or accepted.

I will make it a point to let everyone know and all review readers everywhere, DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!! its not worth the few dollars saved. I had absolutely the worst experience with cheapoair. I dont understand why this company is not yet shut down. They changed our itinerary with long layovers and added layovers and despite being on the phone for over 8 hours, no one helped! Their answer is always we cannot do anything. They wanted me to cancel my flight and give me 500 and to rebook at a different date which they quoted me 2000 dollars. Just unbelievable! These scammers should go to jail for taking advantage of trusting customers.

THIS IS NOT A TRICK.....but a contraption to attract cheapoair.com to respond(or to read this & recognize its employees), namely, Chris first & perhaps Abner second. While I NEVER got what was promised to me by cheapoair.com, I do give props to Chris & Abner for the efforts of "pretending" to be helpful. They helped me by listening to my complaints about JAL & the communication missed & misconstrued by cheapoair.com & with nothing else. Compared to the many calls dropped & transferred & dodged & redirected, Chris & Abner are a breath of fresh air among the perhaps 1,000 agents working out of India. So, here's the "useful review": if you're in search of a bargain flight or easy search engine for travel, use cheapoair.com; IF YOU'RE IN NEED OF ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE OR DISPUTE RESOLUTION, cheapoair.com might as well be a travel agency out of India with a shell co. in NY. Working with them for 17 mos., I HAVE YET TALKED TO A LIVE PERSON FROM NY, or USA. ***Buyers Beware!!***

The absolute WORST travel booking and customer service experience I have EVER had. Booked me on a flight that doesn't appear on the actual carrier, then get an email from them saying the flight time has changed and to contact the carrier directly (the provided contact information was wrong). The trip didn't even show up on my Cheapoair account either. Contacted customer service for a refund and spent over 3 hours going back and forth about the issue. They refused to offer a refund of any kind, at most they offered a future credit for $200 less than what I'd spent. Absolute garbage. Even spoke to a supervisor who did nothing to help either, just continued to blame the airline. Complete waste of time, energy, and money. DO NOT USE!! NEVER have I ever been so frustrated and utterly disappointed in a company. Absolute SCAM!

Cheapoair literally stole my money, that too, in a Covid situation. Never go with them. I booked a roundtrip ticket to India from the US in March, 2021. I was supposed to leave in May and return to the US in July. I booked my tickets through CheapOair, and they told me that my airlines were ‘Qatar and other'. My tickets were from Des Moines to Chicago with American Airlines, and from Chicago to Doha with Qatar airlines. Due to the severe Covid outbreak in India, I could not go. It was not by my choice; the US had banned travel from India; so, I was forced to cancel my trip. CheapOair didn't want to give me a refund. They were deducting a lot of money, so I took travel credits instead. The ticket was priced around $1400 already (not so cheap), and they charged me a penalty fee because I proactively canceled my tickets. (Even though it was a real severe Covid time and the situation was so bad that I might have died or carried the virus to my family if I went). They are the most inconsiderate people. Now I'm going in December, and I have booked my tickets through CheapOair since I had travel credits ($1400 that's stuck with them) with them. I've been cheated by CheapOair with the amount of money they've charged me. On top of the travel credit of $1400, CheapOair charged me an additional $1236 for the round-trip tickets. So, I'm paying $2656 in total for an economy class round trip to India from the US, plus the cancelation fee. This is an unreasonably high price, especially because I'm leaving on 24th to avoid the high prices before that, and I am a student. The reason CheapOair gave me was that the pricing has to be through American Airlines, so they cannot do anything with that, and it's up to American Airlines and that's how my pricing will be if I want to use my travel credits

Total scam company. Absolutely avoid them. They don't talk to airlines and leave you on your own. It is managed by Sam J. Google his name and you will find that he is a criminal. You just got scammed by Fareportal Inc A customer with booking 71994759 was left with no options. Airlines wanted Cheapoair to contact them to discuss alternate arrangements for customer but for 7 days Cheapoair didn't connect. They had option to send email, use airlines social media or even fax them. They didn't do anything. Airlines eventually directly gave two choices to customer as they would deny boarding to either make ticket open or let it expire. Cheapoair never connected with Airlines. Customer wanted to travel but was denied and Cheapoair screwed customer big time because Airline Lufthansa said the booking was via Cheapoair so the passenger as such as Cheapoair's customer and Cheapoair was dutybound to speak with Airlines and get waivers and make alternate arrangements which tyey didn't. Cheapoair offered another option to customer which would mean customer would spend $5000 on ticket which was confired for $1093 and not allowed to travel. Total scam company. RSH Travel Inc in Canada who operates Cheapoair.ca may not even be paying GST. CRA complaint will be filed and investigation will be requested in account of RSH travel Inc.

Initial booking in Dec 2019 for a flight in May 2020 was easy and appeared fine, except trip was cancelled due to COVID. Able to rebook in April 2021 for credit through the two airlines, BUT......my flight was cancelled shortly after booking but Cheap O didn't notify me. I was not aware until I received a check in reminder from airline not matching my flight. Cheap O continued to confirm my old cancelled flight, even sending an travel itinerary with cancelled flights. Had to rebook that flight and go directly through airline. Return flight was checked with Cheap O and agent told me it was still valid, but checking with airline and it had also been cancelled in April. We would have missed our flight had I not checked as we were rebooked on a different flight. Rental car then had to be rebooked due to later arrivals, but Cheap O said they couldn't find any compatible car available, for all companies, but I was able to go directly to the car rentals and they had plenty of cars. It was a nightmare 3 days of scrambling and hours waiting on hold on airlines to sort out the mess. Cheap O did not acknowledge my departing flight was changed until I called after talking directly with airline and never acknowledge my returning flight had been cancelled and rescheduled for different times. Worst experience ever.

After trying to book a flight for couple of hours on-line and kept getting "no longer available" only to show up again on the next search. This happened on every single flight I tried booking, so I decided to call an agent for assistance. The agent booked the flight for me but forgot to mention the $45 charge for speaking with him. A day before my flight, I found from Lufthansa that my tickets are "Economy/Light", which does not include any checked luggage. Something the cheapoair agent also forgot to mention. When I called them to ask why, I was told it was my job to ask them for any additional fees and they never told me there wouldn't be any additional fees. According to cheapoair, it is normal for luggage not to be included, even in a intercontinental flights. Their explanation was that I can always just buy additional luggage, so according to them, it is not really a problem.

I have used this platform for a couple of months and if you asked me for a review then I would probably give 5 stars. However a recent event changed my opinion from 5 to 0 stars ( however I this website doesn't allow 0 starts). Basically some monkey working in that agency didn't made the booking correctly and when I got to the airport with my girlfriend her ticket was not valid. The ticket was not issued because apparently the agent booked a train instead of flights and the ticket was automatically cancelled even though i received the confirmation for the flight. In the end I had to spend around 1000 euros in 2 new tickets ( one for me and another for my girlfriend) In the end they just offer me a voucher of 75$ loool. I'm never using this agency ever again!

My family booked a flight to Hawaii through them in June of 2020 in hopes that Hawaii would be open in time to go by December of 2020. As we all know, 2020 being what it was, this did not happen. Our flight was cancelled by Hawaiian Airlines due to Covid19. Okay, that part was understandable. Now we can get to Cheapo Air's part in the debacle. We were told BY THEM that our credit would stay with Hawaiian Airlines and be good for 2 years. Ok, that's fine. We attempted to book another trip and was told that our credit was through Cheapo Air (exactly the opposite of what we were originally told.) Now, after MONTHS of trying to get ahold of this useless company, they're attempting to steal over $3,000. Over the last few months we've received all kinds of answers from them in order to delay anything being done by them. We were told we would be refunded, we were told it was good for years, we were told that all we had to do was wait. Most recently, we talked to them and were told not only are we not being refunded, but that the credit will only be good through July of this year. This isn't possible since they intentionally delayed telling us about it for over 6 months. NOT ONLY THAT, but they will be taking $1,000 off of the credit for "change and cancellation fees" that was done through Hawaiian Airlines and was 100% out of our control. Unless the money is refunded, they have thoroughly stolen $3,000 from us. STAY AWAY.

worst company to make business with, bad costumers service, supervisors are never available to help. They cancel your flights with out any notice. I had a bad experience they canceled my flight not once or twice nor three tines but 4. I have a regular job and depend on my employer for days off. I had ask to switch my days off from work two different times, by the third my job no longer let me switch days. these people at CheapOAir stole my money did not offered me a refund. please avoid this scam. Find another honest and reliable source for your booking. Avoid a scam and a headache at the end your blood pressure will go up and you will still end up without a vacation and worse without your expensive trip money.

BUT I got an email from them my flight has been canceled due to a pandemic and international traveling baned. so I requested my refund back which delta airlines did but, CheapOair traveler ate up my money. they have never issued a refund back neither credit back they said the flight was working and flying fine. This was a lie because at first when I called the first agent was agree to give me a refund back never happen in 60 days and then I decided to call them again and I hear all that stories from cheapo agents. this site is awful please don't get excited with their promotion and a few cheap prices not worth it.

Do not use this company for booking. $8000 in tickets booked for a family trip last September that we weren’t able to take for obvious reasons. We made the mistake of cancelling first instead of waiting for them to cancel and they won’t refund the money. Vouchers expire this September and they can’t even guarantee extending the deadline. Several individuals going are in the danger zone as far as health and it is not recommended they travel during a pandemic. Been trying to get refunded for over a year to no avail. I’ll now be posting on every single social media page, reviews page, news reporting and in the process of contacting the department of transportation and the financial consumer protection bureau until this is resolved and the money is back in my account. UPDATE AS OF 2/9/21 Dear NAME REDACTED, Thank you for using CheapOair! We have been working with Alitalia on the refund request of the ticket purchased with our agency. Unfortunately, the request did not turn out in our favor. Alitalia has denied our request for any exception and the tickets will remain nonrefundable as per fare rules. We asked if the tickets could be exchanged for vouchers for future credit. Alitalia replied that the tickets have expired and have lost all value. Please feel free to contact Alitalia directly if you have any questions or concerns regarding the airline's determination. You will find the ticket information below that you will need when speaking to the airline.

To whom it may concern. My name is Samuel Alvarez and I currently have a credit with Japan air, bought through Cheapoair, of $978.00. And since I am unable to use that credit I have been offered a complete refund. A refund of almost $1000.00. A refund that I am not going to accept, because Cheapoair is going to charge me a $70.00 service charge to get that money back. I am emailing you to say that I will never use Cheapoair again, and that I will make sure none of my friends or family ever use ypur company again. I would rather loose $1000.00 than pay Cheapoair $70.00 to get that money back. For Cheapoair to charge me $70 so that I can get a refund from Japan air is robbery. From the time my last flight was cancelled, the accountability, customer service, lies and more lies from Cheapoair have been unbelievable. Your customer service agents are rude, unqualified, have had poor training, and they will be the downfall of your company. Your return policies make it almost impossible for a person to have a decent customer service experience. In a time where so few people are traveling, do not have the money to travel and are not using the services of companies like yours I would think that you would be more willing to make what little customers you have feel appreciated. But, your service agents and your policies have made me feel like a second class citizen, and even like an unwanted nusence instead of a loyal and valued customer. I will be copying this letter and posting it all over my social media, and I will ask that my friends and family do the same. I hope that in the future, you will start to treat your customers with the respect that they deserve. Goodbye

Awful service!!!!! My flight was canceled and I did not receive ANY NOTIFICATION. I only found out because I called the airline. Also, I had to call CheapOair several times to get my reimbursement and EVERY TIME I CALLED THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME THE FLIGHT WAS NOT CANCELLED. After a 2 hours chat, they only agreed in giving me the full refund when I mentioned I was going to fill a complaint form with the Department of Transportation (we have the right to a full refund when the flights are canceled). Even after agreeing with the refund, they tried to exclude the fees they were supposed to refund me. I noticed some of them before the payment; however, after getting the receipt, I verify that they still did not refund me about $100 in fees. I would recommend everyone to stay away from this company!

We got charged 3 times for one trip. One of these was with an extra flight booked AFTER our destination flight. When we emidietly notified Cheapoair they charged us an extra $25 for 4 tickets tickets to DROP the last flight! I reserved a rental car or so I thought. Instead I was charged for the full rental time up front and then denied the veh and a refund because I didn't have a card it card. Nut they had no problem charging my bank card for the rental. customer service is a joke and your charged for any service you may or may not receive. This company is based in India and that says it all. I think that whole country lives off of scamming Americans.

This is a SCAM company! My wife have booked a tickets to Boston MA on a next day flight. As well, she bought a 20$ trip protection for easy cancelation. 20 minutes later we have discovered that a rapid covid test doesn't work and we need to do a 7 days Covid test. So, we called to cheaoair and asked them to cancel a tickets. The agent just said: no,we can't. No refund. My wife remind him about a trip protection. He said: " its doesn't metter. This protection doesn't work ". Its a SCAM. This company should not work. Customers, be aware. Avoid this company, if you don't want to loose your money

I purchased tickets for four friends in South Africa through Cheapoair. Never again! They left four of my friends stranded in Johannesburg. To make a long story short. My friends were not able to book on a later flight because while they were at the airport, the airline said the flights were booked through a third party so that is who has to change the tickets. When contacting the “third party”, Cheapoair told me that my friends had to change their tickets at the airport with the airline. So guess what? No one would help them especially not Cheapoair and my friends were stranded u til they could get on a ten hour bus trip to get home. Cheapoair did nothing to help my friends!! Please do not waste your money.

I booked a round ticket to Amsterdam through Cheapoair.com. My trip was supposed to a at the end of May, 2020. Because of the global Coronavirus pandemic, I cancelled the flight, which the airline eventually cancelled for the very reason. I checked the airline's (Scandinavian Airlines) cancellation policy, and saw that I was eligible for a full refund, so I requested Cheapoair.com for the full refund. After few arguing, they eventually sent me a confirmation email on 7/18/2020, saying "Upon reviewing your reservation I see that one of our supervisors had spoken to the airlines on 05/31/2020 and the airlines confirmed that you qualify for refund of $689.35 and $120 for the baggage which should reflect on your card within 30-60 days once processed." It is 11/20/2020 now and I have yet to receive a penny back from this SCAM company. Instead, they have been calling me once a week and leaving me messages. Sometimes they say it'll take 2 more weeks, and sometimes they say it'll take up to 5 months for the refund to be processed. BUT, TODAY I received a message saying my ticket is cancelation is not related to the Covid situation, and that I will not be getting a refund. They also said something about a change fee of $300 if I want to book a different flight. All along, they had no intention of refunding any money. There are few others who are considering a joined law suits (I saw it on pissedcomsuper.com), so I'm going to look into that and I plan on joining them as there are so many of the same reviews with the same issue with this company. I have all the email and voicemails saved, so I'm ready.

Absolutely horrific. Nightmare. Bought insurance with them. Airline changed flight so I had to cancel. I was stuck in a foreign country with no income because of the pandemic I even had to spend most of my savings getting whole new set of tix. Cheapo ignored all of my attempts to reach them until my visa expired and I was stuck. Then they said the airline wouldn't refund me because I was a no show.. once it was too late and they waited months after the flight date to even respond (after I cancelled through cheapo) and they didn't bother to notify the airline which is part of what that insurance I bought was for! They do not answer phones, emails, or chat. If you get through count yourself lucky. In a pinch they are nowhere to be found! I had to go and buy a whole new set of tix in the end and forfeit the hundreds I spent with them. To this day they are unapologetic. Only offered me a $50 credit that out of curiosity I tried to use and, yes you guessed it. Does not even work! A fake code. HA!

Booked a American Airlines Supersaver flight. The site would NOT give me any info on the flight until I booked it. The site had 8:00 - 4:00 PM. I assumed that was the window of travel... (it's not). Since I need to arrive at 4:00 PM, I booked the flight. Then I got my info, I would not arrive until 7:00 PM. Customer service said since it was a "Supersaver", I could not make any changes. United Airlines had a much shorter flight time that arrived at 4:00 PM for about $90.00 more. I will never use CheapoAir again... it's pretty horrible that you can't get any info on the flight unless you book it first.. & then be stuck with it... Update: After I published the reviews, they called & changed my reservations & asked that I change my reviews... so I did.

Do Not Use! Repeat Do Not Use! I book a flight to Italy with them and due to Covid-19 I continued monitored the flight cancelations and found the flight was canceled and fully refunded to CheapOair and received no notification from them, In fact, they continued to post my reservations until the flight date. I had to dispute the charges with my credit company and they still continued to resist refunding me and falsely stating that I canceled my reservations and claimed the tickets are non-refundable. The kicker is that they want to profit from both the consumer and the airline refund not to mention the worthless travel insurance.

If you could give a zero star review for this company, that still wouldn’t be close to reflecting their service. It is now nearing on HALF A YEAR past when my flight was canceled and I was notified that I would receive a refund of which I have not received and still have no information on when/why/ and if I will ever receive it. I’ve sent emails back and forth with no straight answers. The only way I was able to get in contact with someone was by writing a bad review and having them contact me to take it down. It’s been over a month since they contacted me and said they would reach out to their team and figure out the status of my refund and get back to me...I’ve heard nothing since, other then their request for me to take my review down. It seems they’re more interested in protecting their image then in actually helping customers. I will never do business with this company again and urge anyone reading this to literally go through any other flight company out there but cheapoair.

I truly wish I could give CheapOair zero stars. That is what I think about their customer service and their cancellation policy during COVID-19. As if it's not bad enough that my flight was cancelled on my once in a life time trip to Europe, I am having to fight to get a refund. I have stayed on hold forever and when I finally get through to a person, they say they will refund my flight minus the cancellation fee (of course). Then, the website reflects that I have asked for a credit. So, I am on hold again waiting to go through the whole situation again. DO NOT BOOK ON CHEAPOAIR. They are not being reputable even during times like these!

They would do anything you to pay for the flight and then if there is any cancellation or a mistake they would want you to pay extra to move on to the another step. there is NO WAY you would be reaching a manager. Supervisors are not helpful at all. and they are non honest about solving your problem. for instance, if you tell them you want to talk to a manager, they would most likely say "hold on 2 to 3mins to allow me to call a manager ma'm". and get back to you after 40 maybe 60 minutes. tell them specifically if you want to book a connected flight twice maybe three times. because they are really bad at understanding the Visa requirements. ask if your ticket is basic, flex or premium, because they won't ask you and make a problem about that later as well as they will blame you on that!!!!! DO NOT BUY YOUR TICKET FROM THEM SO YOU WONT SPEND YOUR TIME AND GET MAD.

CHEEPOAIR needs to start treating people with respect. CHEEPOAIR needs to get back what they are dishing out... EVERYONE NEEDS TO REPORT THIS COMPANY TO BETTER BUISINESS BUREAU...Also call your local government to report them. All other business's are helpful and giving, CheepOAir is all about taking. $35.00 cancelation fee for each customer that was canceled on?????? What kind of world? You will hear bad stuff about this company in the months to follow. I will never book a trip threw a booking company ever again. As a matter of fact every time I receive an offer I send them this message... I just wanted you to know that because of the way CHEPOAIR has handled my COVID cancelation, I will never use a booking company again. They have ruined it for all of you>>>

This terrible company is using COVID-19 epidemic like an excuse to steal money from customer.I will never book anything through this site again. I called many times but nobody is answering the phones. I bought an insurance to change the tickets but still I had to pay $70 just to cancel the tickets. I did not cancel the tickets the tickets where cancelled by the airline. Cheapoair is taking advantage of people like me. They already charged me $30 for the service +$40 for the insurance +$70 for the cancellation. No customer service, no explanations. They never responded to phone, chat or email to assist me.

I book a flight ticket through Cheapoair to Barcelona and due the the Covid 19 situation my flight was canceled. I tried for more than 3 weeks to contact the website and the airline but no answer from either one, until today after 2 hr i was able to to get somebody on the phone from Cheapoair. Basically they told me that they wont refund my money and the only thing they are able to to do is get me credit for future travel. I tried to inform them that at this point i do not want credit because i do not know when i will be traveling to Europe again and definitely not this year. I just cant believe that specially this time and the situation we are facing these companies are scamming people this way, and they are backing their scam with the policy. If it was my choice i would be in the plain tomorrow heading for my vacation as i planned, but i cant, instead i will be looking $972.00 . This is the worse situation loosing money during this time and. I will NEVER use Cheapoair.com and i encourage everyone that are having the same issue with this website or any other to summit a complain to the FTA so this be know. After all this past the Goverment can take action.

CheapOair is the one of the WORST travel agencies availble. Its a SCAM! Do NOT book anything through them!!! I purchased a ticket through them from Edinburgh to London a few weeks ago. The flight got cancelled and I wasn't even warned (unrelated to corona). They didn't even BOTHER TO send an email to notify me of the cancellation, nor did they provide a subsitute ticket! Instead I got a " We hope you are excited for your trip to London !" email. I got to the airport as planned, and when I learned the flight cancellation news on the spot, I was forced to purchase a last minute ticket to London as I had an international connecting flight I couldn't miss. After this incident, I wrote to cheapoOair MULTIPLE TIMES to ask for refunds. No one answered me. I called, sent reminders-NOTHING!!! This is unacceptable-don't ever make the same mistake I did!!! This agency refuses to take responsiblity for its actions

If I can, I would give 0 starts! I've been calling Cheapoair for 2 weeks! In the mid January, 2020, I bought a round trip to Moscow, Russia for my mom who is a senior. Now, during quarantine conditions and high risk for elderly people to get infected, I want to talk to Cheapoair to discuss my mom's options. Definitely she won't fly in these conditions (her flight is scheduled on April, 3rd). Now it's my job to call and try to chat with Cheapoair EVERY DAY FOR HOURS. No luck!!! I wait for hours... as I get closer to my turn, something happening... it freezes or just bumps me out. I'm very frustrated. Right this moment as I'm typing this review I've been waiting for Cheapoair to answer my phone call for 65 min. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS! P.S. After 70 min of waiting, the automatic voice informed me, "You are calling an inexistent number. Please check your number and call again." I'm very angry and frustrated.

I booked a flight with them for dec 6-9 from Knoxville TN to New Orleans LA. When I was already in New Orleans I reslized that my return flight was actually booked for the 12th. Obviously, I needed to go home on the 9th. My hotel was up on the 9th as well as my rental car. I called customer service TWICE and they said that they could see that I entered the 6-9. However, I had picked a flight that was for the 12th. I said I understand that I made a mistake and needed to move my flight to the 9th. They said they couldn't move it. Also that they would not refund any portion of it. It was a round trip flight for 2 and it cost about $800. They told me the best they could do was offer me 2 1 way tickes for over $1000. I belive when a website has a search criteria then the offers they post should at lest fit the criteria. I understand that I chose the wrong flight but all I wanted was a reasonable refund or discount so that we could mke it home. I will never do business with this company ever again

This review is for the company policy of charging customers for services to customers, that they have paid, but could not deliver on the services that they want to provide. I paid to request for all aside seats but they could not do it. I have to go to the airlines website to make changes and pay extra to the seats I that I need. The agents seems nice enough to want to help but I guess they are being tied up by certain restrictions by the company policy but that sucks for customers like me. I have been using CheapOair for a while but now I will have to think twice with this experience after one prior trip before this.

MY RESPONSE TO COLLECTIONS: I followed your terms of service and I requested change to pick up location for the car. The person I spoke with would not help me with that thus the reason I had to purchase another car rental in Dallas TX when I missed my flight due to changing of gates at the last minute and Frontier never made an announcement about it until I went up to their desk asking where the plane was. Their failure to provide everyone with this update in flight is not on me. Multiple other people missed this same flight because of this. I even called Hertz and they said I had to call who I booked the car with for changing of pick up locations. This is complete failure on cheapo air for not supporting and providing service in the middle of all the chaos I was going through trying to get down to Texas to tend to my sick mother. This is a dispute for the entire amount of 341.12 for services not rendered and I will not pay a dime of it. I have re-disputed with American express I require no further communication from you concerning this issue. I suggest you fix your services and operations concerning bundle bookings including rental cars as flight issues can result in changing of pick up locations for rentals in case you didn't know and you are loosing customers because of this. TOS STATES: "CheapOair will charge a service fee of $10 for cancellations or a change of reservation." I was in the airport waiting and ready to pay 10 bucks to change pick up locations and you failed to provide this service per your own terms of service. NOT MY FAULT NOT MY DEBT. CHEAPOAIR UNDOCTORED REPLY: We are just a travel agent who booked ticket for customer. We followed Airlines policy if Airlines make any changes which is totally out our control. Our agent call car vendor to help you changing the pick up point however they denied for any changes. So if you missed your flight due to Airline make changes you should be calling Airline for any compensation. please be informed this car rental amount you paid is non refundable.

I bought a return flight from Bangkok to Los Angeles with southern china airline having an 18 hours layover at the Shenyang international Airport. After I bought the ticket i received an amendment in my travel itinerary 6 times. This made me jittery and I called the Southern China Airline helpline. From there I learnt that for this connection I need a transit visa to China. Which is a surprising thing because I have never had an experience where you needed a visa for a connecting flight. Later I realized that China does not offer transit visas in Pakistan to Pakistani passport holders. I should have been informed of this kind of requirement on my connection in advance and if i needed any sort of visa for my transit but i wasnt informed. in fact my flight schedule was changed 6 times and later on i found out that i can not even take this flight because of the weird kind of a connection on this airport. cheapoair should know the terms and conditions like these and inform the buyer in advance as this is a very odd case. now my entire money is wasted.

I wish I could rate this 0 stars!!! Immediately after booking, I called to change my flight to the next morning. There was a $50 fee- my card kept getting 'declined'. When I called my bank, they said there was absolutely no reason my card should be declining. When I called back right after, the fee to change had jumped to $80! The calls kept 'dropping', and each time I called back, the price jumped up again!! When I told them I wanted to change for the original $50 I had agreed to, they said there call center system was down even though I called back, reached a different agent, and- you guessed it- the system was working just fine! They refused to change my flight for less than $200, were SUPER unhelpful, and provided the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced!! Take your money elsewhere folks, and stay far FAR away from these scammers!!!!!!!

NEVER BOOK FLIGHTS WITH CHEAPOAIR! Immediately after buying the ticket I asked changing the return from 3 stops flight to 2 stops. NO WAY. Beside that they asked me $5797 to change one leg of the return of a $1350 flight a first time and then $7876, I finally discovered that they calling center is located in PAKISTAN!!!!! And the operators are using fake Western names!! No air company can detect on their system the fare for this ticket so no company could change this return! The ticket has been bought by those gangsters from some consolidator in a shady way. The customer service is pitiful and simply doesn't care about you once you have been scammed with the ticket purchase. AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! CheapOair. They would not give me back the money. They purchased a ticket without my approval and when I asked for the return of my money they treated it as a refund and said we do not refund tickets we can give you 70.00 off the 250.00 they took from me. I notified the bank they received information from Cheapoair as if it was a return and sent their policy to the bank they did not refund the money. I did not buy this ticket and was charged for it anyway. Cheapoair violated the law broke several more Federal laws, reached over borders and countries stole my money and my bank Suntrust assisted them in this crime.

Title of the review: cheapoair is a scam and a fraud company and one of the worst I have ever seen Briefly, Cheapoair is one of the worst companies I have ever seen. Customer service is below zero. The advisers were not nice to me and they did not do any effort to help me or to solve the problem. I will never book with this fraud company and will never recommend it to anyone. Description of the problem: I have booked a ticket to Lebanon from Montreal. My transit destination was in Nice-France. In the airport in Montreal, they told me that I cannot travel because I should have a "Schengen Visa" to pass through Nice-France. When I booked the ticket, there is no mention to a "Schengen Visa" on the website nor in any links. I contacted cheapoair and the advisers were very rude to me. Instead of proposing solutions or solve the problem, they were not responsive at all. Moreover, they send me emails with some links to check if I need a "Schengen Visa" or not. The links did not work and they send me to an empty page "page not found". Moreover, I tried to check if I need a "Schengen Visa" to pass through the airport in Nice-France to go to Lebanon. I checked the information on: -The European Union website: -France Visas website: -Schengen Visa Info: and nothing is written that I should have a Schengen Visa. And what made things worse is that the advisers told me that this is my problem and not their problem. Is it a good way to treat clients? I am asking cheapoair to reimburse me the whole tickets.

When I called cheap-o-air and request to change return flight (From SFO to HYD) change of date, they initially asked me an additional charge 311.23 and when I requested what are those charges, I didn't get proper answer from agent(His Name Milwin I think). He is saying $111.30 for airline penality including taxes and at first instance remaining amount is fare in difference and when I again ask him to explain this more elaborate about these charges, he said it’s cheap-o-air service fee. But this is more important for me to change the travel date, I don't like to pay the remaining $100 but I accepted and asked some discount, he gave $100 discount, sent this email below: As per our conversation and as agreed, we have made the changes to your Booking number: xxxxxx, with an additional charge of $211.30 USD per passenger, including airline penalty, difference in fare and fees. Total cost to change this itinerary including taxes and fees: $211.30 USD (Total for all passengers). And again after some time, he is saying you need to pay extra $134 and total fare is $335, at last I lost belief on the agent with his knowledge and asked him to connect to his higher official, he is not happy with that and he is deciding my character saying that "sir, basically you don't trust anyone", If I am correct deciding anyone's character is not his duty. I felt very bad about this and I shown my sadness, now he is talking even rude. I just want to talk with his higher official but he puts me on hold for long time(about 15 mins). I don’t know these charges I am paying are correct or not, but not happy with agent deciding my character. With this experience I don't think I will comeback and decided never book a ticket in cheap-o-air.

I scheduled a trip through CheapOair for a flight with Spirit airlines from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale. I agreed to purchase a carry-on for $30. The night before my flight, I checked-in and realized Spirit did not receive notification from CheapOair that I paid for one checked baggage. I called CheapOair and rep I spoke to said he sees the error and will notify Spirit air to allow one carry-on. Within a few minutes, I receive a notification from my credit card that a new charge of $30 has been charged by CheapOair. I called CheapOair back and they said they know nothing about the new charge. I called my credit card to challenge the charge and they agreed to credit the $30 while they investigate with CheapOair. Avoid CheapOair and purchase tickets directly through the airlines.

The Cheapoair is one of biggest scam that i have ever seen in my life. They deliberately make you pay more for the flight . This online ticketing agency is fraud . All the customer representative deliberately make mistake and then make you pay more. In my case I was booking flight from cheapoir.ca in canadian funds . The flight was 2500 Cad and i entered the credit card information to book the flight then all sudden my flight price shooted 5500 Cad. So they charged 5500 CAD to my credit card. I called the billing dept. They refused to refund. I will request all you guys to never buy ticket from cheapoair because all they do is fraud in various ways either by messing up your ticket or charging in USD even if you are booking at cheapoair.ca or sometimes they will charge undisclosed fee's about 500 USD . So i would recommend all to " Not to buy ticket from Cheapoair" otherwise you will be victim of fraud like myself

First of all, This a proof that I've booked by this fraudulent website >> https://goo.gl/tB4Cng I booked two tickets using the online process, However, for more then two days I couldn't got a confirmation from them, and there booking system didn't accept my card! and keeps showing me that my card got declined!! I went to my bank and they assured me that my visa card works normally.. So I went to a travel agency to book my flight in person and I discovered that the price of booking the flight has increased by $ 250 by each ticket, I ha d to book with that price.. I came home and canceled one of the flights on this website and what a surprise!! they managed to take a 75$ for each ticket (as a canceling fee) form that declined card !!!!!! How come? I don't know !! Can anyone tell me how come ?! If they can't accept my payment, how can I confirm my tickets !! and If I can't get a confirmation for my flight!! why I should pay for canceling a non-going booking? it's a lost cause! And worst of all this, how come when I canceled a booking with a (declined card) they charge me $75 ?! but when I tried for so many times to pay for my tickets I got a (declined card) error?! I do not recommend anyone using this website. If you want to book a flight, book it directly through the airline's website or go to any flight office and make your reservation. This way you will save TIME, EFFORT & MONEY !!!
