The Good

  • Accreditations

Accreditations

Medtech Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). They are also authorized by Orlando Florida to award diplomas such as Academic Associate's Degrees, Occupational Associate's Degrees, and Bachelor of Science Degrees. We also like the fact that they offer a job openings page online so students can look to see what jobs are open in their area. The only problem with this page is that there currently isn't much on it.

The Bad

  • Number of Programs
  • Undisclosed Information

Number of Programs

Medtech offers programs in medical assisting, medical billing and coding, practical nursing, associate degree in nursing, phlebotomy, and IV therapy. Medtech clearly focuses their education in the medical field which limits what programs they can offer. This is good in a way because a focused trade college will hopefully thrive because they specialize in one area. However, when we score trade colleges as a whole we look to see how many different options there are for a student to choose from, and in most cases it will expand outside one particular industry. Other trade colleges will offer programs in the medical realm as well as in other industries too. We find that trade college can provide more than 30 different programs sometimes. Medtech currently only offers 6 which puts them far behind the rest of the competition.

Undisclosed Information

It's hard to review any company that does not openly disclose any of their information online. Medtech scores so low because we could not find any information openly available that consumers could access. In order for potential students to get information they need to either complete a form to request certain information or call in and have their questions answered. This can be an inconvenience for a lot of people which could turn potential students away. The information that Medtech Institute was lacking included cost of attendance, graduation rate, job placement and loan repayments. These are all the most crucial things someone would need to know when looking into a trade college, and Medtech doesn't make anything easily available.

The Bottom Line

We do not recommend Medtech Institute solely based off that they do not have any relevant or important information on their website for customers to research on their own. We could only find one valuable piece of information and that was what programs they offered, and even that number isn't very impressive. Potential students should seriously look around for other options because if a trade college lacks basic things like having information available, this could be one sign of the quality of their college.
