The Good

  • Reimbursement policy
  • Indoor climate controlled units
  • Regular unit upkeep

Reimbursement Policy

US Storage Centers is very transparent about the company's reimbursement policy. If a customer pays several months ahead of time and decides to move out before the end of the prepaid period, US Storage Centers will refund customers the extra prepaid months. If a customer moves out in the middle of the month, the customer will not receive a prorated refund for the rest of that month, only for full prepaid months. Having this policy in place is a great benefit for customers who want confirmation that they can receive a reimbursement for unused prepaid months.

Indoor Climate Controlled Units

US Storage Centers offers customers the opportunity to store their belongings in an indoor climate controlled storage unit. This is a great benefit for potential customers who have valuables that could be damaged through exposure to extreme weather or temperatures. An indoor storage unit will prevent water from damaging a customers belongings. A climate controlled environment will ensure that the storage unit is kept at a safe temperature throughout the entire year. The combination of the two will bring comfort and reassurance to customers.

Regular Unit Upkeep

US Storage Centers is focused on providing quality storage unit facilities to all of its customers. In order to make sure the company meets those standards, the company performs regular upkeep on the storage units to guarantee that the facility is clean and maintained. If there are any problems with the facilities, customers can easily reach out to the on-site manager or contact the company directly online to inform them of any possible problems.

The Bad

  • Do not offer locks
  • No 24-hour access
  • Average prices

Do Not Offer Locks

Although the company has a lot to offer to customers, US Storage Centers is lacking in a few other amenities. For example, US Storage Centers does not offer customers the ability to purchase locks from the main facilities. This can be a pain for customers that have not been able to purchase a lock to protect their storage unit. Customers will need to find a local store in order to purchase a quality lock to protect their belongings.

No 24-Hour Access

US Storage Centers also does not offer customers the ability to have access to their storage unit 24 hours a day. Instead, customers are restricted to only having access to the storage unit between 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. If a customer needs access after 9 p.m., the customer will need to wait till the morning to gain access to their storage unit. This can be troublesome to some customers. US Storage Centers could improve its benefits to customers by giving customers a 24-hour access policy.

Average Prices

Finally, US Storage Centers does not have very competitive prices. In comparison to other storage unit companies, US Storage Centers offers prices that are slightly above average. For a 10x10 unit, US Storage Centers customers can expect to pay around $9 per month. Customers who have the time could look around at other storage unit companies that are able to offer more benefits for less.

The Bottom Line

Altogether, US Storage Centers offers customers an average option in the storage unit industry. US Storage Centers is transparent with customers in offering a clear reimbursement policy for unused prepaid months. US Storage Centers also offers customers the ability to have an indoor, climate controlled storage unit to protect their belongings from being damaged by the weather. However, US Storage Centers does not offer customers 24-hour access or competitive pricing. For customers living in one of the states with an operating facility, US Storage Centers is an average storage unit center.

After discovering myself that the climate controlled 10x20 unit had flooded do to shooty construction all of are boxes where soaked on the bottom are photo albums, pictures ,yearbooks clothing soaked . The humidity was so bad that the boxes that didn't get wet where soft and damp. They never called to notify us or anyone else what had happened And at the end of the day the standing water inside the building was still there .they made know effort to clean any of it up. I feel sorry for the people hows units were flooded and still where not notified We buried my wife's father earlier that week Had only two to be out of are house we sold And attend my daughter's graduation from college by the weekend. When the manager of the unit didn't like my tone of voice she evicted us. Even though they had already charged us 200.plus for the month. The district manager was there and said or did nothing till we called corporate who gave us the runaround. We were given a sheet to right down items that were damaged how much we paid how much the replacement cost it .BECAUSE WE HAVE NOTHING BUT TIME ,RIGHT!! To top it off when were trying to to remove the last of are stuff the manager tries to take one of the carts we were using away from my son a Marine and Iraqi war vet With full disability saying regular business hours are over. My other son starts filming her actions and she tries to take his phone or block him and pushes the hitting him in the face ,and yes it's all on video. That's my US STORAGE EXPERIENCE. Mark G.
