The Good

• Good security
• Amenities
• Car-Go

Good Security

U-Stor takes safety and security very seriously, and provides customers with secure units. All units are individually alarmed to provide extra security. Units are constructed with brick walls, gabled roofs, and fire-resistant drywall between partitions. Resident managers are on site for added convenience and security. Facilities are fenced and well lighted, and also have video surveillance. Customers will feel that their items are secure when storing with U-Stor. Facilities are all accessible 24/7.

Amenities

Units come in eight sizes ranging from the size of a closet to the size of a garage. This allows customers to find the price and size that best fits their storage needs. Each unit is individually alarmed and built sturdy as we mentioned above. All units are ground-level, which makes it easy to move items in and out of.

Car-Go

U-Stor is unique in that they also provide storage facilities for vehicles. These units are made to fit cars and are also individually alarmed and built sturdy. This allows customers to store their items and vehicle all in one convenient location. We would like to know more information regarding what types of vehicles they are able to store. Customers are able to pay their storage bill online, as well as find coupons for storage units.

The Bad

• Services are lacking
• Undisclosed price
• Availability

Services

While there are a lot of great benefits to using U-Stor, there are also some drawbacks. Their services are severely lacking. Most companies provide locks for their customers. A lot of companies also offer packing supplies for purchase. This can be a huge added convenience for customers who have forgotten something, need more than expected, or want to get all of their packing items in one stop. Often times these supplies include boxes, bubble wrap, utility knives, packing tape, markers, and more. Some companies also offer moving trucks for their customers needs. We would like to see U-Stor provide some of these services.

Undisclosed Price

U-Stor claims to provide cheap prices, however they do not disclose their pricing online. Most companies are very transparent when it comes to their pricing. Many companies allow customers to rent and reserve their units online. Some also offer discounts or the first month free. We would like to see U-Stor be more up front with this information, as it is pertinent for customers who are shopping around for storage units.

Availability

U-Stor has some good aspects, however, they are only available in twelve states. In these twelve states there are only 102 locations. This greatly limits who can benefit from their products and services. Some storage unit companies in the industry are available nationwide. The states that iStorage is currently available in are Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. We would like to see U-Stor expand outside and within their current service area. Customers who are seeking storage unit services outside these states will have to look elsewhere.

The Bottom Line

U-Stor's units are built sturdy and secure. They use some great security features to keep customers items safe. We like that they take security very seriously, installing alarms on each unit as well as providing onsite residential managers. We also like the unique service they provide with Car-Go. These vehicle storage units are very convenient to customers; however, U-Stor is not upfront with their prices, which is very concerning. They are only available in twelve states across the country. Their services are also lacking greatly. We recommend customers check out other storage facilities for their storage needs.
