The Bad

Product kinks
Focus on analytics
No toll-free customer service number
Facebook use

ReleaseWire has some kinks in their product which should be pointed out. While the company states that they use their skills to help their customers create optimized press releases, there is little more information which is given either online or via customer service representatives to back up this nebulous statement. With ReleaseWire, the focus appears to be based more upon analytics of past press releases, rather than by optimizing current releases, which would be a factor in keeping the customer with the service. While understanding past successes and failures are critical to any good marketing campaign, from what is stated by the company, one expects more help on the earlier efforts. Phoning customer service is not toll-free. For most, this may not be a significant issue, but it is standard for most companies to invest in their customers' best interests by providing a toll-free number. ReleaseWire is active on Twitter with many accounts, based on different industries. Access to customer service not available via social media. ReleaseWire's business Facebook page is sporadically used and integration with social media for press releases is focused on Twitter. For companies with a Facebook following and demographic of using Facebook, this may present as a challenge.

The Bottom Line

ReleaseWire is a great fit for many companies, but may be better suited for those planning a long-term campaign and subscribing. Their tools are more effective for the long haul. Their pricing for subscriptions is discounted based upon their on-demand services, so for those who are serious about creating a press release marketing campaign, ReleaseWire is a good choice. Companies using press releases occasionally may still benefit from on demand services, and the time savings of using ReleaseWire can be extensive. ReleaseWire is recommended for those wanting to create a dynamic campaign or those wanting to use their services to save time and money in distribution.

Releasewire is horrible. They use a syndication service, most of them being the exact same blogs, but with another logo. About 45–50% of all links do not work. And of course, not a single soul (journalist) will ever see your press release. People do not read spam emails anymore if Release wire actually really reaches someone. Support is average. It depends on who you talk to. They ignore the fact that you pay a full price, get only 50% of working links, every single time again, for months (and it's still not solved). No answer, no reply on when they will get it solved. Nothing. If you want to burn your money, they are the way to go.

Releasewire is a shocking service. They were at one time a good service, but now they have gone down hill. There is only one person who works there and he is very rude. There are so many major technical problems that happen and they never reply to support tickets. The service they charge companies is not worth it. If you want a company who is very rude then they are the company to deal with, but if you want a service where they value the customer then do not use releasewire

Simply Awful. There is NO communication possible with anyone at this joke of a firm. They don't honor any scheduled release time, just release pell-mell. Everything about this company is suspect. there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. The phone number they advertise is to a recording that NEVER works. AVOID THIS CONJOB OF A SERVICE.

Releasewire claim to be a big company but if you go to their offices you will see it is a one man band. The customer service is shocking, they make lots of mistakes and the press releases go to the same sites. It is the worst service i have ever used.

Releasewire is the worst service I have ever used. The way they treat customers is shocking. There make so many mistakes it is a joke. They never take responsibility for their mistakes, maybe this is why they changed their name from sbwire to releasewire

Total scam. Company has fallen apart. Takes up to 2 weeks for some low level person to ‘approve’ your submitted review. Customer service phones out of order. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE EVER.
