SutiHR is a human resource management solution for businesses of all sizes. Its capabilities include electronic records, payroll management, project management, performance management, hiring and staffing, employee self-service, benefits administration and more. SutiHR's system also includes quite a few add-on components that extend the functionality of its platform even further. The software was designed and launched by SutiSoft Inc in 2009. SutiHR headquarters are located in Los Altos, California with additional business offices in Germany, India, and Japan. Starting at just $4 per user per month, SutiHR's system was designed to bring enterprise-level HR features to small and mid-sized companies at an affordable cost.

Comprehensive suite
Several modules

SutiHR is a comprehensive suite of talent management and human resource tools that greatly reduce the time needed to recruit new talent and manage existing workforces. SutiHR's training module not only allows companies to set and implement training programs with ease - it also provides detailed feedback capture and reporting capabilities that can rate training effectiveness as well. SutiHR training features include, internal and external training program implementation, online tests to evaluate training effectiveness, employee attendance monitoring, feedback collection tools, detailed reporting of results and performance. SutiHR's HR management module encompasses everything from new hire on-boarding to management of rewards and incentives. It also offers advanced collaboration features using integrated chat and group discussion capabilities. Some of these features include the ability to view and mange interview schedules and employee leave requests, instant messaging capabilities for employees, manage grouped discussions and emails, employee goal assignment by managers, manage goal point awards given to employees and assist with employee profile creation and management. The system's recruitment module gives human resource departments the power of real-time recruiting by integrating with online talent sites. In addition, it automates much of the recruitment process, from generating emails when new jobs are posted to automatically creating job descriptions and offer letters based on customized templates. The software also helps with the search for new employees by automatically extracting info from candidate resumes and sending it directly to the managers who are looking for candidate placement; directing the right people to the right places more effectively. SutiHR's employee self-service module eliminates many of the administrative tasks associated with human resources, giving employees the ability to manage their personal data, request time off and even view their benefits information. Employees also have access to work-related data such as project plans and features like employee management of leave, training, benefits and attendance tracking as well as assigned project plan viewing. Both the human resource module and the employee self service modules allow employees to take advantage of electronic signature software which eliminates waste and keeps all important customer and employee documents in one location without the hassle of having to scan in images or make copies.

The basic professional plan only provides customers with support and training, the self service portal and the time sheet applications while the premium feature only includes recruitment, personnel (HRIS) and performance management applications on top of the other three features included in the basic plan. In order to benefit from the fully comprehensive software a customer must purchase the enterprise plan, which includes all 14 service modules. However, even with the top tier enterprise plan a customer would still have to add the additional add-ons to complete the full capabilities of the software which significantly increases the cost per employee to use. While having the additional plans is useful for customizing customer needs it looks like there are options that could be missed if a customer was not consulted prior to purchasing one of the basic standard out-of-the-box plans. You do have to go through the demo and consultation process to get pricing on all features provided with the enterprise plan and to include the additional add-ons for any of the other payment options. While offering an extensive recruitment program they do not offer any applicant testing options which still creates a loss of time, and resources, for companies as applicants are filtered out by simply locating key words and other information from their resume as opposed to having an applicant tested for job readiness before they are even contacted for an interview. Being one of the more aggressive employee friendly software companies we have found SutiHR still has not yet developed a mobile application to help employees better manage their personal data interface. SutiHR is not listed as suitable match for freelance companies or large enterprises which places them directly into the middle of the market scale.

The Bottom Line

SutiHR has the potential to be a good fit for almost any company in the market interested in a comprehensive human resource program. However, how well their software suite works for their customers depends on how much of the product the customer wants to use. At the most basic level SutiHR would be a great option for small companies looking for help with the basic human resource needs. Because the software is broken down so that customers can add on additional features SutiHR is essentially more cost effective than other programs on the market; in that their customers are not paying for product features that they won't benefit from. But, as customer seek to build a more comprehensive platform for their human resource needs they will see a cost increase depending on how complete they want their program to be. The SutiHR management and training modules are some of the more comprehensive programs we have found in the human resource market and they offer inter-office communication benefits not found with other similar software options. With the group discussion and email and chat features, open communication becomes easier and more effective in the work place. They also provide follow up testing options for trainee's making sure that onboarding process is smooth and new hires better transition into their positions. This opens the door to catch any issues that need to be adjusted before they become department wide problems. SutiHR has thought of aspects within human resource management, and employee follow up care, that many companies do not attend to at the time. As long as the cost for the software, and additional add-ons, are manageable for your company, Suti would be a good fit.
