With three different home automation packages, as well as a new alarm system and a package for those who have an existing alarm system, the company has the home security option that's right for you. Depending on if you have existing home security technology, you can have 24/7 alarm monitoring for just under $20 per month. Though home automation is more expensive, there are many features that make the price worth it. Another positive aspect of Forward Home Security is that many customers have had positive experiences with the company, especially when compared to the number of bad experiences that have been tracked. With the company's partnership with Smith Monitoring for its alarm monitoring services, the company is able to provide the best in alarm detection and alert systems.

Forward Home Security unfortunately ties you into a 36-month contract, which makes it difficult for people who move more often than that. If you decide to leave your contract early, you are required to pay the rest of the contract, which can end up being a lot of money at once. Though Forward Home Security provides a small amount of information about the cancellation policy, the full clause concerning the cancellation policy isn't listed on the website, and is missing the full contract as well. Though the company's monitoring service has a website, Forward Home Security has very little information about the monitoring service provided, other than it uses "local employees." Forward Home Security does not list whether or not it is CSAA-certified, an important aspect of anyone hoping to purchase a reputable home security system. With the pet motion detector being unable to differentiate between a dog over 50 lbs and an intruder, you might also have some unwanted alarms set off in your home.
