The online firearm retailer provides a variety of firearms for competition shooting, self-defense, target shooting, hunting, and more. The company’s firearm selection ranges from beginner-friendly firearms to expert-level firearms. It’s important to note that Ammunition Depot also sells a few ambidextrous firearms on its website for those with unique firearm handling needs.

Ammunition Depot provides a helpful online filter that allows customers to filter items by price, product name, and position. Additionally, customers can filter by category, caliber, manufacturer, color, etc. Ammunition Depot also offers a wide range of prices for its firearms that could work with the majority of different firearm buyer budgets.

The Bad

  • Restocking Fee and Orders
  • No FFL Locator Tool

Restocking Fee and Orders

According to the Ammunition Depot terms and conditions webpage, customers may be charged a 20 percent restocking fee “if a firearm that ships to your selected FFL is returned by the FFL to Ammunition Depot for any reason.” Additionally, once customers obtain the firearm they purchased from the FFL dealer, Ammunition Depot will not accept any firearm returns. Ammunition Depot also does not guarantee customer order cancellations.

No FFL Locator Tool

Unlike several other online firearm and ammunition retailers, Ammunition Depot does not appear to provide an FFL locator tool on its website. Customers who wish to find the closest FFL must spend extra time searching online. Other companies in the firearm and ammunition industry provide customers with access to fast-working online FFL locator tools.

The Bottom Line

Ammunition Depot offers quite a bit in regards to its online firearm and ammunition selections. Customers can purchase both beginner and expert-level firearms, specialty ammunition and bulk ammunition, survival gear, gun parts and accessories, and much more from the company’s main website. Ammunition Depot provides customers with several filtering options, a comparison feature, an online knowledge center, and a wide price range for its many products.

The company, however, may charge customers a 20 percent restocking fee for firearms returned by FFLs and does not seem to provide customers with any sort of FFL locator tool on its website. Potential customers are encouraged to read the company’s terms and conditions page and look up several verified Ammunition Depot customer reviews before making a purchase.

Bail Bond Agent Palm Harbor, FL

Do not buy anything from this business. Their product descriptions deceived me into buying steel case ammunition, instead of the brass case that was in the description and picture. When I contacted customer support to exchange/return the ammo, they said I was supposed to receive brass case bullets; until the next day, when the rep emailed me saying he made a mistake and my order was for steel case. A couple days go by and I reach out to the customer service rep to ask for a return label and RMA number, because they have a strict one week return policy. After returning the products I ordered, due to their deceiving product descriptions, they charged me a 20% restocking fee of $120. Considering they ship their products from the same state I live in, I would have been ok paying the shipping costs,; but they charged me more than double the shipping costs for products I didn't keep. Moral of the story, either buy products locally or from some other website because they conduct bad business. If you do buy anything, make sure to take a picture of the product description because they will change it and act like they don't know what you are talking about.

Bought 1000 rounds for $1300 and every one was bad. Had to box back up and return and that’s all they could say was sorry o ya and here is a twenty dollars off of something in our store Never buy from this place they do not respect the customer that makes their business a business If you don’t have customers you don’t have crap. As far as I’m concerned they don’t have nothing but junk.

I received email notifications 3 days ago telling me my order had shipped. However, when reviewing it says "shipping label has been created" and the UPS link says they will provide an estimated arrival date WHEN THEY RECEIVE THE PRODUCT. My suspicion is that their shipping department is gaming the system and fudging their numbers by creating the label but not shipping in a timely manner. I have sent two mail, neither of which has been answered.

This company is incompetent. I placed the online order and CC was charged immediately. The order tracking email contains erroneous info from the carrier to ship date. I contacted customer service and after 2 phone calls they could not resolve the issue and was very rude. I filed a dispute claim with my CC to resolve the issue. I don't recommend this company.

This company is special, and not in a good way. They’re filled with idiots who can package an order. 3 times and still can’t get it right. First and last time I ever order from their site.

Don’t do business with people that price gouge. Ammo is getting back in stock if you know where to look at considerably cheaper prices. I unsubscribed and will no longer do business with them.
