Hybris is a multi-channel e-commerce company that is based out of Zug Switzerland. In addition to their e-commerce platform, they also sell product content management software. Hybris was founded in 1997. The founding team includes Carsten Thoma, Moritz Zimmerman, and Klaas Hermanns. As of now, a German software company called SAP owns the company. Hybris's customized solutions are used by over 500 other "customer" companies, including GE, Toys "R" Us, Procter and Gamble, and more. Hybris is intended for large- and enterprise-sized businesses. Some reviews from around the web indicate that the company's technology can take anywhere from 3-4 months to fully deploy in an online e-store, which indicates the planning that it takes to design and implement a Hybris solution. Hybris does not have a "one-size-fits-all" option, nor do they have different subscription levels. There are, however, pay-per-use options, license purchases, and other options to get this monster of an e-commerce solution implemented for your business.

API Integration
While a complete listing of supported apps is not included on their website, there is a powerful API integration capability. This lets your e-store come with a clean product framework. You can then add as many plug-ins and third-party apps as you'd like in order to get more functionality for your e-store as well as build in more customization.Commerce Accelerator
If you're really looking to get an "out-of-the-box" solution with Hybris, they have a product called the Commerce Accelerator. This is a downloadable solution that comes with responsive themes, order and inventory management tools, and payment methods. However, the Commerce Accelerator can take a long time to get set up with your e-store. With the Commerce Accelerator, the average launch time is anywhere from 3 to 4 months. We liked that this solution is available, but would like to see a faster implementation time.Mobile Optimization
With Hybris, the mobile optimization features are limitless. You can optimize your store to pick the best theme that will load on your customers' mobile device. Hybris also comes with an SDK for both Apple and Android phones, which makes it very easy to design a native app for your company's e-store.Multichannel Accelerator

Mobile Management
We had some questions about mobile management, as this is something that wasn't easily found within the e-commerce industry. We wanted to be able to manage our inventories. Right now, you can design an app with the SDK kit to use internally, but we couldn't find any "out-of-the-box" solutions for mobile management with Hybris.Expensive
Frankly, Hybris is pretty expensive. For a standard large-size business implementation, your business is going to spend around $50,000 per year. There are different options, such as pay-per-use and more, but we found better solutions for enterprise-level companies hosted in the cloud, such as X-Cart.Slow Turnaround Time
The Commerce Accelerator, from our perspective, is not really an accelerator. Even if you download this "out-of-the-box" solution, you are still looking at three to four months before you can get your e-store rolling. With other e-commerce providers, you can find an instant solution as soon as your product content is loaded.Lack of Scalability
There are not many scalability options for Hybris. There are pay-per-use payment solutions, but you can't easily increase or decrease the size of your e-store within he Hybris paradigm.Not a Lot of Information
When we contacted companies in the e-commerce industry that serve enterprise-level businesses, we found that we couldn't get a lot of information about pricing, number of themes, etc. The same thing happened with Hybris.The Bottom Line
