Luxury Amenities

SOBA Malibu has three residences: Winding Way, Pacific Coast Villa, and The Sobanas. Winding Way provides you with a professional chef, a pool, and 24-hour staff. The Pacific Coast Villa includes a fitness center, tennis courts, gardens, and more. The Sobanas are semi-private beach cottages a few feet from the Malibu shore which also include 24-hour nursing care and a professional chef.

After Care Program

What makes SOBA Malibu unique is that it combines residential treatment with transitional living. The Malibu Villages and The Sobanas make this possible in allowing clients to continue to adhere to the SOBA Recovery Inpatient Program but in a modified way. Patients will then be able to return to normal life with a SOBA sober coach who helps them to adapt to their new lifestyle. This comprehensive approach to drug treatment is founded on recent studies by the National Institute on Drug Abuse which confirms a lengthier inpatient stay and a transitional program is most effective.

Insurance Verification Online

A helpful feature of SOBA Recovery Center is that you can fill out an insurance verification form online. This will help you to determine what your out-of-pocket expenses will be and it saves you a phone call. United Healthcare, Value Options, Anthem Blue Cross, and Cigna are a few of the insurance companies listed on SOBA's website.

Rigid Program Structure

SOBA Malibu recommends a 90-day program for residents. If clients are not able to commit to this, then other options are provided included transitional living and even remote teleconferencing. Other drug treatment centers offer shorter stays at a minimum of 30 days. Although this is dependent on individual needs, this is important when considering a recovery facility.

Pricing Not Available

As with other medical and healthcare services, SOBA Malibu does not list its pricing online. If you don't mind contacting the company's 24/7 hotline, then this shouldn't be an issue for you. SOBA Malibu claims that services are available at reasonable rates and given at a fraction of the cost so as to help as many people as possible. Pricing will also vary due to the treatment program selected and the length of stay.

Unknown Success Rate

A deciding factor for some prospective clients, is knowing the success rate, or that the rehabilitation program is effective. Unfortunately, this information is not known. Although the company lists that research has proven to back the Center's approach and methodology, it isn't clear as to how effective it has been with former clients. SOBA Malibu has been in business for 10 years so its lack of information is not due to being a new company.

If you are looking for a luxury alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility with a comprehensive program to recovery, then SOBA Malibu should meet your addiction recovery needs. SOBA uses the 12-Step method along with specialized exercise and nutrition care. The staff to resident ratio is also high with one therapist and counselors for every two clients, ensuring that sufficient resources are available. However, it is now clear as to how successful this program is without a known success rate. SOBA Malibu also recommends a 90-day stay which is lengthier than other competitors' minimum stay.
