The Bad
- Cost
- Set Terms
Cost
Earning a degree at SNHU does not come cheap. Undergraduate course fees start at $960 for online students, which is $320 per credit hour. Graduate courses start at $1881 per course or $627 per credit hour. And these fees don't include the books and other materials needed to complete these courses.
SNHU, however, does offer discounts to military members and their families. While cost may be higher than others, SNHU offers many scholarships and grants for students.
Set Terms
SNHU has set 6-week term dates for online undergraduate programs. So this is not a situation where you can work at your own pace and take your time. Be aware that there are deadlines you need to stay on top of. However, since there are multiple term start dates, students are able to choose a term start that is right for their schedule.
The Bottom Line
A career certificate from Southern New Hampshire University can document your progress towards a degree or support a career change by itself.
SNHU provides students with the option to complete programs both online and on-campus, whichever suits their needs. SNHU also allows students to transfer credits with ease to help them reach their goals of higher education.
While the courses are pricier than that of other institutions, Southern New Hampshire University gives you what you pay for: academic support, real-world application, and a credential to potentially advance your career.
