The Good

  • Great Information and Advice
  • Checklists and Worksheets

Great Information and Advice

Brides-to-be will find the most thorough wedding planning information and advice on wedplan.com. The Planning section includes information that our reviewers didn't find anywhere else, like cost breakdowns of each type of expense, questions to ask the officiant and etiquette for second weddings. There is also an After the Wedding category that offers basic information on financing a home or what to discuss with a spouse when setting monthly expense budgets.

Checklists and Worksheets

Although wedplan.com doesn't offer online-based planning tools, it does feature a hefty collection of wedding planning checklists and worksheets in PDF format that can be printed or downloaded. It can help you organize jewelry, invitations and favors, gift registry, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, photography and videography, flowers and decor, lighting, ceremony, reception and honeymoon. It also offers a calendar checklist and expense record, as well as worksheets to track details for the attendants, cake, music and more. If you prefer to plan offline or will need to pass out copies of all the wedding details to helpers, wedplan.com's documents are a good alternative to an online hub.

The Bad

  • Vendors are Wisconsin-Based
  • Lacking Blog Content and Tools

Vendors are Wisconsin-Based

The vendors and bridal shows listed on wedplan.com are Wisconsin-based. If you're a bride-to-be who is getting married elsewhere, wedplan.com won't be useful in your vendor searches.

Lacking Blog Content and Tools

Although wedplan.com's blog presents visually-rich posts full of crisp, quality photos, it doesn't have much content to browse through - in fact, wedplan.com has the sparsest blog of all the wedding planning websites we reviewed. Brides-to-be are eager for information, ideas and advice - wedplan.com would attract many more by increasing its blog content. The lack of online-based planning tools is a drawback of wedplan.com. Although it's convenient to be able to easily download or print its PDF worksheets, this is the digital age and brides-to-be are finding that technology helps them organize the countless details of planning the perfect wedding.

The Bottom Line

If you were the type of student that took detailed notes, covered all the recommended reading, studied with flash cards, created outlines for school projects and completed extra credit assignments, then wedplan.com is a good option for you. It offers organized wedding planning advice and detailed worksheets that we didn't find on the other sites we reviewed. There is certainly room for improvement in terms of expanding the vendor listings and blog on wedplan.com, as well as creating the option to use the planning tools online - but the site does seem to strive to present quality photos and information.
