The Bad

  • Limitations of service
  • Downtime issues

Limitations of Service

While they care about their customers, A Small Orange's products lack the options of developing a mobile version of a website. The small disk spaces make it difficult to store large amount of videos, files, and other components that a small business might want to include in their business hosting product. Exceeding the storage space requires that the client upgrade to a more expensive VPS product, which, for some, can be frustrating.

Downtime Issues

Some customers have complained about A Small Orange's downtime issues. For the most part, A Small Orange's downtime issues were relatively short, lasting only a few hours, a plus when considering that many large hosting companies have downtime periods that can last for days before the issue is resolved. On the forums for A Small Orange, rest assured, the Director of Customer Service responded to client concerns and directed customers on how to issue a support ticket.

The Bottom Line

A Small Orange offers some great features, and some good hosting options. However, customers may feel limited by the data limits, and the inability to develop a mobile version of their website. Customer's also had issues with downtime, which is crucial in this industry. We cannot recommend A Small Orange's web hosting services at this time.
