The Good

• Affordable
• High graduation rate
• Technical degree focus

Affordable

With the cost of earning a degree continues to rise, Western Tech provides a more affordable way for people to learn a skill and enter the work force. Western Tech has more wallet-friendly degree choices than other trade schools offering similar degrees. To earn a technical degree from Western Tech, attendance can range from $2,476 to $8,603. At other trade schools, tuition can cost over $32,000 to earn a degree. We like that it keep degrees affordable to help students get their foot in the workplace. It is important to us for students to earn valuable degrees while keeping tuition costs low.

High Graduation Rate

Another highlight of Western Tech was its high graduation rate. Not all trade schools have high graduation rates; many schools more concerned with getting students enrolled, not graduation. Western Tech has 91% graduation rate. This means almost all students who enroll with Western Tech will graduation with a degree and skills they can directly apply to a job. Earning a degree opens many career doors and we like the Western Tech helps its students get there.

Technical Degree Focus

Western Tech focuses exactly on what its name suggests. It offers quality technical degrees including advanced welding technology, automotive technology, and electronics engineering technology. Western Tech takes pride in providing quality degrees in the technical field. In addition to helping students earn degrees, it also helps students earn jobs. Students can feel confident that Western Tech will help look and land jobs in their fields. Western Tech wants its graduates to not only succeed at school, but also in the workforce.

The Bad

• Limited location
• Lack of degree variety

Limited Locations

Once concern we had with Western Tech was their lack of locations. Western Tech only offers two campuses for students to attend, both of which are in Texas. While we understand that it is a local school that caters towards Texas residents, we think it would be beneficial to extend its availability. Online classes would be a great way to incorporate other students without having to add more physical campuses. We think that Western Tech offers a great education, we just wish that more students had access to it.

Lack of Degree Variety

We mention above that Western Tech focuses heavily on technical degrees. While they do provide great degrees in the technical field, we'd like to see it expand its degrees into other areas as well. We think locals would benefit and be interested in other types of degrees from Western Tech. Since they already trust and value the institution, we think that having more degrees would only add to its good reputation.

The Bottom Line

Western Tech provides the residents of Texas, El Paso in particular, with great degrees in specializing in the technical field. Its high graduation rate, along with its affordable cost of attendance makes it the easy choice for those looking to further their career. We fully recommend Western Tech for Texas residents.
