The College of HealthCare Professionals(CHCP) is accredited by ABHES, a non-profit, private, third party organization that sets standards regarding healthcare standards. It is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and helps ensure the quality of healthcare education across the country. This bureau is designed to keep keep healthcare education progressing and maintaining high moral standards of the industry. CHCP wants to produce honest students who uphold and understand the standards that come with professions in the healthcare industry. We like that CHCP honors its accreditation and holds itself and students to higher standards.

Online Programs Offered

Since there is no requirement to offer online programs, schools that do, tend to stand out. The College of Healthcare Professionals offers certain degrees online for students. These degrees are attractive to students where daily classes on a campus may not work for their schedule. CHCP dedicated to including all types of students is something we can support. Some of these online degrees include health and administrative services, healthcare management and medical billing and coding. These online programs helps CHCP stand out among other trade schools across the country.

Variety of Programs

Within the healthcare industry, there are many types of jobs that are necessary to help it run smoothly. The College of Healthcare Professionals offers many different types of degrees within the industry to help kickstart careers. Dental assisting, massage therapy and pharmacy technician are just a few of the healthcare degrees CHCP offers. Since CHPC is an accredited school, companies hiring CHCP graduates know that they will receive high quality employees.

Texas Based Campuses

We mentioned earlier that CHCP offers a handful of degrees online, which we like, but most programs are only available on campus. In order to complete their degree, students must attend classes at one of CHCP's five campuses. The College of Healthcare Professionals only has campuses located in the state of Texas, which limits the amount of student able to attend. While we understand that CHCP can't service all students looking to enter the healthcare profession, we'd still like to see some improvement with regards to location.

58% Graduation Rate

The College of Healthcare Professionals has a lower graduation rate than other trade schools. Only 58% of CHCP students graduate with a degree. While 58% isn't the lowest we've seen, we still believe there is definitely room for improvement. We'd like to see more students graduating from CHCP and starting their careers in the healthcare profession.

The Bottom Line

The College of Healthcare Professionals provides a high quality education for those looking to start a career in the healthcare industry. Their accreditation by the ABHES and large program catalog is a good foundation for students to earn a degree. While they have a lower graduation rate than other trade schools, overall we recommend checking out CHPC if you are a Texas resident.
