The Good

• Reasonable pricing
• Moving supplies
• Climate control

Reasonable Pricing

Here at BestCompany, we found that Stor-N-Lock Self Storage offers a typical 10'x10' storage unit at about $89/month. This is considered average pricing among storage unit companies, so it isn't difficult to find other storage unit companies that will offer the same size for a lower price. Likewise, this price is also lower than several competitors, which can charge upwards of $100/month.

Moving Supplies

Stor-N-Lock Self Storage claims to carry everything you need when it comes to moving your belongings into its storage units. This includes box sealing tape, tape dispensers, wrapping paper, bubble wrap, labels & pens, boxes, tape, rope, cutting tools, gloves, dish pack boxes, foam cushion pack, furniture covers, and mattress covers.

Climate Control

Climate control will be important for customers who will be storing climate-sensitive items. This could include items such as antiques or musical instruments. Even if the customer doesn't have overly sensitive belongings to store, the climate control systems will keep the storage unit from becoming too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter.

The Bad

• Unknown refund policy
• Unknown indoor/outdoor units
• Limited security measures
• Limited access hours

Unknown Refund Policy

It's a strike against a company when it doesn't offer any information regarding a refund policy. We would strongly advise customers to ask their Stor-N-Lock representative about their refund policy when the time comes. Often, companies won't disclose information on their website because the policy isn't that attractive.

Unknown Indoor/Outdoor Units

Some customers will prefer an indoor unit to an outdoor unit because it can provide extra security measures and stronger climate control. Stor-N-Lock Self Storage doesn't disclose whether the company offers indoor or outdoor units. The company would do well to disclose that information on their website so customers can make a more educated decision.

Limited Security Measures

According to our research, Stor-N-Lock Self Storage doesn't offer much security beyond video surveillance and keypad access at their storage facilities. Compared to other companies, this isn't necessarily terrible; however, extra measures could be addressed to provide customers with that added sense of security and peace of mind.

Limited Access Hours

Stor-N-Lock Self Storage units are only available twelve hours out of the day, specifically 7:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. Some competing storage unit companies will offer access 24 hours a day. Having your storage units available for only twelve hours a day is one of the lowest gate hour availabilities we've seen in the industry. Stor-N-L0ck Self Storage would do well to remedy that.

The Bottom Line

Stor-N-Lock Self Storage isn't a bad storage unit company. The pricing is fairly reasonable, and features such as moving supplies and climate control are attractive, especially if you live in an area where the climate can be harsh. However, an unknown refund policy is cause to give pause. Customers considering Stor-N-Lock would do well to ask a representative about the specifics of the policy. Also, a lack of information on indoor/outdoor units, small security measures, and restricted access hours don't look well when being compared to top companies. We recommend looking into top competitors before considering Stor-N-Lock Self Storage.
