TweetDeck was founded in 2008 and is currently headquartered out of United Kingdom. In 2011, they were acquired by Twitter and now they are just a web-based tool for Twitter. Up until 2013, they also supported Facebook, but then removed then completely from their interface. To login to TweetDeck, you have to use your Twitter credentials – meaning Twitter and TweetDeck are no longer necessarily a separate service.

The Bad

  • Twitter support only
  • No printable analytics and reports
  • No image storing or editing options
TweetDeck only supports Twitter. It does not manage any other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Youtube, and any others. They do not provide printable analytics and reports. However, you can view your personal statistics on their website; but they do not do reports that can be exported or translated into an Excel or CSV file. These statistics also cannot be made into PowerPoint presentations. They do not provide any time of image storage or image editing options.

The Bottom Line

We recommend TweetDeck to Twitter users as a great Twitter managing tool. It's free and provides plenty of quality statistics about your personal and/or professional account. There is no reason not to recommend this free service to Twitter users. However, they do not provide any type of social media management tools for any other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Plus, and any others. If you are looking for a social media tool to help manage all of your social media profiles, we suggest looking at our top recommended companies.

If you are a big corporation, I would recommend using TweetDeck to run & manager your twitter-related day to day operations. It's a free software that is an official Twitter app, which is huge for big corporations because you know it's legit. It has great features such as Scheduling tweets, monitoring tool, notification alerts, supporting twitter lists and auto-updated lists. That's a lot of helpful things to have done for FREE.

TweetDeck is one of the most useful tools you can use if you're running twitter accounts. The ability to optimize all of your accounts to help benefit one account is amazing. The only thing I wish they had was the option to select all instead of doing all of them one by one.
