Petco

I don't have a pet, and my situation doesn't allow me to, however I love to bring my little ones to pet stores to look and experience animals. We aren't annoying and mostly look, but some pet stores are rude and grumpy to us. Petco has always been kind and encouraging to us to take our time and enjoy looking at animals. Thanks!

I have always enjoy shopping for my puppy at PETCO as well as taking him there to be groomed. I took my puppy there on yesterday 3/2/2013 to be groomed and when it was time to pick him up from being groomed, I paid for the grooming as well as purchased a new collar for him. I failed to try on the collar while we were in the store, and only realized that it didn't fit when I got home. Having been a repeat customer and Pet Pals member for many, many years, I didn't see any problem in me returning / exchanging the collar for the right size. My only shortfall was that I didn't have the receipt for my purchase. I got to the register and stated my issue to the cashier who called me up to his register. The cashier immediately "We technically don't exchange or refund pet collars w/o a receipt". I said where does it say that? He immediately asked the cashier next to him to hand him the sign reading their return policy. Once I read it, I asked for him to "go get his manager. He left and headed to the back or the store some where". About five minutes later, he came from around the corner asking me if I " had a Pet Pals account"? I said "yes, I do"? I also asked him "Why didn't he ask me if I had a Pet Pals Account in the first place"? He was being escorted from around the corner with the manager of duty (a female) It was around 1pm in the day when I attempted to exchange the collar for the right size. The manager stated that "normally we don't make exchanges or refunds w/o the receipt". I said "I now understand that, however my issue is that I never took the collar out of the package, and the cashier never attempted to provide true customer service to me. He could have gotten my Pet Pals Account which would indicate that I did make the purchase only the day before". This was extremely disappointing to me, because it indicates that if I didn't ask for the manager, this extra step wouldn't have been applied. Could it be that the cashier didn't know the process to provide full customer service to their customers? Tough to say; but the cashier was very stern and rude when I initially told me "I wasn't able to exchange the item". It didn't end there....... I provided my phone number for them to double check my account status and the manager told the cashier to go see if the purchase is listed on my account from yesterday. I repeated my phone number to the cashier twice, because it appeared that he was flustered and unable to write it down correctly the first time. He started to walk off to check on the information, and then stopped in his track to ask me for the SKU!# for the item I purchased. My immediate thought, now you want information from me. WHY!!!!!! I thought your store policy was to not return items w/o a receipt. And in fact, I if I did purchase the item, it would have the correct SKU# listed on my purchase history. So don't ask me for anything else. If your store policy is to provide full support to all customers, I don't feel that I receive that either from him or from his manager; who was on duty. This store has lost a customer and the ability to service my dog in the future. Morale to this story, is to provide equal service to everyone, not pick and chose who will receive what service. A VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER..... ANBOUT TO BOUNCE.

I haven't had a problem with the store, but online isn't good at all! It started when I asked to be notified when something I was interested in was back in stock (actually 2 things). Then I placed my order & they had a promotion going on for extra pals rewards that I didn't receive & have been chasing them to give that to me, even though I was told I was going to get it...I'm still waiting. I got my order, tried to call them a few times & had trouble simply getting through. My order was messed up, somethings were opened (seal was open) & other things were clearly used. When I did speak with a rep, I was told the ONLY way I could return to store was by an e-mail but I can't print it & don't have internet on my phone...I couldn't speak with a supervisor then either because call volume was SO high & I have already written asking for a call from a supervisor or manager so we will see if I ever get a call from one now. NOT GOOD!

I got tired of going to other stores where the cat food brand I wanted was frequently out of stock. I happened to see that petco delivers pet food, and it’s always in stock. Great price and loved that they gave me free shipping and 30% off my first online order. It comes every month and I never have to worry about it!

I appreciate the layout of their website. Fun to view the different products. They have a good variety of fish. They don't let you buy as many as you want though. It is frustrating when you are trying to buy mass amounts of goldfish.

The Petco website is easy to shop on. The website lets customers shop in their price range so that they can find exactly what they are looking for in their personal budget. I easily found training classes and the perfect chew toys for my dogs.

Love using Petco website has everything you need for your pet and also even has a pharmacy option to buy medication for your pet another great feature they have is a 24/7 help line in case you need help from experts.

When I was a little kid we got our first dog from a rescue agency that worked with petco, so I have always gone where to get pet supplies. The online tools are a great help is getting what we need when we need it. Always an easy experience.

Petco is the only place where I order my dog food from, they have an excellent selection and their groomers are always sweet and professional.

We had our cat getting blood tests etc and waited as we were told we could. A Petco manager screamed at us “you’re not allowed to wait in here!” “You cannot loiter here!” “You have to wait in your car!” This after 10-12 pet adopters had stood and sat around in the same room for an hour! I have never been so rudely treated in my entire life by someone who is supposed to be in management. I will never set foot in that Vets office again.

Petco is an amazing place for pets. Their employees are nice and everything. The thing is they dont have everything we needed.

Ordered dog food waited 4 days unable to track package called customer service was told package at Warehouse told them keep and give me refund would not do anything for me can't understand person I talked to terrible company to deal with go with CHEWY they are the BEST!! Prices good and order arrives 1-2 days any problems solved while on phone with them go out of their way to help you STAY AWAY FROM PETCO I know I'll never buy anything from them again lie and tell you order shipped still at Warehouse checked right after getting off phone with them BEWARE

PETCO customer service is atrocious. After I waited on hold for 15 minutes, I was ‘assisted’ by an associate who was extremely difficult to understand and who had extreme difficulty in copying my order number. I asked to speak to another associate and a supervisor to which he replied no one was available. I then attempted to use the “Live Chat” feature but I was rejected stating all their ‘Chat’ associates were busy. The transition from Foster@Smith for Rx has not been seemless.

If I could give Petco zero stars I would . I bought two products online a month ago , one product came and the other one did not . I waited a week, still nothing so I called, they informed me that the product was out of stock (funny cuz it wasn’t out of stock at the time of my order) so I canceled the order and they told me it would be 5 to 7 business days for my refund. I still have yet to receive my refund and I’ve called about it twice . I’m about ready to file a complaint against petco, this is poor customer service you don’t take peoples money and run .

I tried to purchase prescription dog food for my son’s dog. I frequently watch the dog when my son travels for work. I sent Petco the script the vet provided. Because the address on the script (son’s address) did not match the delivery address (my address), Petco refused to process the order. How ridiculous is that. I have no problems picking up my son’s prescriptions or my mom’s prescriptions at CVS. BUT I CANNOT GET DOG FOOD. Corine at customer service could not help me. I guess the dog will have to do without his prescribed food.

The first time I had to call to complain about receiving canned cat food that was expired, I was refunded. The second time I noticed that our next delivery was also expired I attempted to contact the same girl who had given me her email address previously, and after 13 days have gotten no response. So I feel the need to let others know to look closely at the expiration dates on any food you might purchase from Petco. Very sad. I have dropped my repeat orders from this company and will be purchasing our pet food elsewhere now.

We live close to a Petco and a Petsmart and have gone to both for our dog and cat needs. I like Petco for their cool items they get in. We bought my daughter some Star Wars dog stuff for her puppy last year and she just went nuts. I think the food is overpriced though.

I went into the Baytown Texas store and the aisles were jammed with pallets on what the manager called "freight night" where they stock the shelves. I had to move pallets to get to aisles and when I spoke to the manager he didn't apologize but said it was what the store manager wanted. He didn't even have a name tag. I wrote Petco and then called and was promised a call back that never came. A Petsmart is opening down the road and I am going there. What a bad experience

Not thrilled with the brands and amounts of cat food that they are carring. Over the last 2 years I have exspressed concern to store management that they seem to be cutting back on what they carry and often the stock is very low only to be told both times that they are in process of a reset. If this is so it's the longest reset of a store that I have ever seen. I am now so discusted at the inability to purchase what my cats want that after my last visit in June I will no longer shop there but go directly to PetSmart. Sad...Petco had been my go topet store until the last year and a half

I like Petco as they offer a wide variety of pet care items and food - you can get products for almost any pet such as fish, cats, dogs, gerbils, snakes, birds and so much more.

Very easy to use and navigate. We get pretty much everything for our dog from Petco and the website makes it that much easier to take care of our dog.

Petco's website has great user interface and design. I can easily find all of my pet needs. I often choose to order online instead of the store, so I dont get as turned around.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of products and the prices are good.

We got our cocker spaniel here and she was so marvelous! The online website is great and easy to use though the customer service can take a while to respond
