The Good
- Comprehensive tool
- Save time
- Comparison format
- Best price guarantee
Comprehensive Tool
BookingBuddy is a comprehensive comparison tool that allows travelers to book a number of travel accommodations while simultaneously viewing rates for a number of travel sites and providers at one time. Users can also filter their search to narrow results and find the best option for their upcoming trip.Save Time
The BookingBuddy platform is heavily focused on saving travelers both time and money. Their technology has enabled users to cut down on the research and planning time that goes into making travel plans while simultaneously cutting costs on a number of travel arrangements and accommodations. Those that use BookingBuddy will be able to book the following:- Flights
- Hotels
- Vacation Packages
- Cars
- Cruises
Comparison Format
All of the pricing information and other data commonly associated with the listed accommodations are made available through a comparison format. That means after inputing generic travel information, users will then be able to select a number of travel sites to instantly compare prices and amenities. This comparison tool cuts down research time since users no longer have to go to each site to view deals and discounts.Best Price Guarantee
There is also a best price guarantee on all reservations. There are stipulations within the policy, but for the most part, travelers are guaranteed the best price on various rates. If a lower price is found within the allotted time, travelers will receive a refund to make up the difference. Prospective travelers can also take advantage of last-minute trip deals. These featured deals can be browsed for quick getaways. Additionally, BookingBuddy does not charge additional booking fees since they are trying to maximize savings for their customers. The Bad
- Features and programs
- Cancellation and modification policy
Features and Programs
Even though BookingBuddy is part of the TripAdvisor family, they do not offer the same features or programs found on the TripAdvisor site. For instance, those that book travel accommodations through BookingBuddy will not be able to take advantage of a unique rewards program. Travel credit cards can be used towards reservations made on the site, but no additional rewards will be earned. There are a few features/resources commonly found on other booking sites that are not included in the BookingBuddy service. These tools are not necessary to booking hotels at a discounted rate, but they can be helpful during the planning stage. The tools absent from the BookingBuddy platform include:
- Ability to save recent searches
- Book travel activities or tours
- Browse a page dedicated to last minute deals
Cancellation and Modification Policy
The cancellation and modification policy is rather complex since BookingBuddy is working through third parties already. On top of that, travelers are not able to purchase travel protection/insurance through BookingBuddy directly. That means a traveler could be out hundreds of dollars if they are not able to cancel or change their reservations in the event that they cannot make the trip.
The Bottom Line
- Compare top travel sites instantly
- Book all travel accommodations
- Best price guarantee
- Last minute deals available
- No rewards program
- Travel protection not included
