Ancestry DNA has a large database which helps match me my relatives. I like being able to know what my ethnicity is and comparing DNA percentages with my relatives estimates. It has been helpful to figure out the connection.

Ancestry has A LOT of information BUT you will pay dearly for it. I had used Ancestry to make my "free family tree" quite a while back. I quickly realized that I couldn't do much more than what I knew of my extended family because I would have to pay for a subscription (no problems!) So i purchased a disk (thats how long ago we talking here) and was able to start the tree. A few years later i wanted to work on tree again...its like $20 a month! WTH! I love the info but that's a lot of money!

This is the best available company for genealogy I have found. It has millions of records and it’s users friendly. I love that they include links to their source. Very good company. I have free access to it from Family Search by LDS Church. They have a partnership which makes the two a very powerful source for looking up names.

great user interface with the family tree, so much information on the family. Such a wonderful tool to find more out about my family's history! I especially love the screenshots of the actual historical documents, ie ship passenger records, census, draft cards, marriage docs, etc.!

Seems like the largest supply of historical records in the world. I've been able to turn so many corners and find lost family members. Not only by searching those records but by the DNA results and linking. Ancestry is absolutely a must in family research.

We did this as a whole for our entire family for Christmas and it was so fun to get back everyone’s detailed reports and go over them together. Such an exciting thing to learn about you and family members and where we all came from.

While I have never had to pay for using Ancestry.com (thanks to FamilySearch) I find that Ancestry is far easier to learn and use. I also appreciate the ability to lock your family tree, so that random people can't mistakenly attach themselves to your family tree.

Love this! I was just on the site (I’ve had it for years) and saw myself in a 1994 year book. Then it showed me my dads and moms yearbooks from the 60’s. Really cool! I love the dna part also. Mines been done for over a year and I just bought it for my husband for Christmas

One of the best genealogical website out there. You can find so much information about your family tree and stories that you didn't know that were out there. They also offer DNA tests for a fee and you can find out what your origin is. Very cool to know!

I have used Ancestry for DNA testing and for research for family history. The DNA testing is fun and informative. I expected a little more detail, but I am satisfied. The kit was easy to use and the results came online. It is fun to compare with other family members and see who you are connected to online! The research tools are also valuable, I have used it to look for birth, death or marriage records and also immigration records.

I love, love, love this site. I use it several times a week for family history work. What I love most is that it give you other record hints that might match the person you are searching for. These hints aren't perfect, but they often give you clues about other documents. I would totally recommend this site to a friend and will keep using it.

I recently gave my parents Ancestry DNA kits for Christmas. It was interesting to find out that my Dad really didn't have Native American Heritage after being told he had a certain percentage his whole life. It gave us some answers to some of those questions.

Ancestry is REALLY cool, just because of the built in family tree tool. I literally traced my father's side back generations in the span of a day. The documents, the birth records - it's all fascinating, especially from a history standpoint.

I use Ancestry along with FamilySearch.org to do all my family history. Ancestry has a great collection of records and is always adding more. Also, I did the Ancestry DNA kit and I love having links to new relatives. I am still trying to put all the pieces together, but I am now in contact (messaging through Ancestry) with so many new relatives I never knew I had.

I also like the way multiple people can be working on the same family member and we can each enter all the info we have found... I also did the DNA test and I loved the results... I received several messages notifying me of the great progress and it would only be two weeks before receiving my results. Well that when on for weeks until I received a very unwelcoming notice that I had to request a new kit as the sample failed. Spending about three wasted and frustrating hours on the phone with customer service a supervisor who seemed very accommodating said she would work on my refund and call me back in twenty minutes. That never happened and when I called back and spoke with my third representative I was told there was no notes in the system. Given they work from home she couldn’t see what supervisor may have spoken with me. No apologies in their request or sorry for the inconvenience, we will send a new kit out. No everything was put back on the customer. They are the absolute worst I have ever dealt with.

I just received my results for my ancestry DNA. I was blown away and saddened by how fraudulent it appears to be. I only submitted my DNA because I wanted to see what percentage of native American I was. My grandmother was 1/2 Cherokee Indian and my father's side also has Cherokee Indian as well. My best friend and I did it and submitted ours pretty close to the same time. We got our results back and they are almost identical with the EXACT same wording, just the percentages a tiny bit different. And......had 0% of anything related to being any native American. Never again will I believe in this.

Presently purchasing Worldwide Membership on a semi-annual basis. $330 a year. Have been purchasing and using Family Tree Maker for more than 10 years, spending $100's and thousand of hours. As of March 29, 2017 have been unable to sync FTM with Ancestry. Despite numerous inquiries no Software Mac Kiev fails to responds. Attempting to get resolution to this problem, I researched SM which claims to be headquartered in Boston, On Google maps they are locate in the middle of the Sumner Tunnel. This is in fact a Ukrainian company [Kiev]. And totally unresponsive to th promised release of FTM 2017 which supposedly would then allow me to sync again with online trees. Real dirty pool. 2nd problem. Have purchased 6 DNA kits over the past 4 years. But for the past week have been unable to access my DNA matches I think this is due to an update which created a new aspect of online DNA matches which I could access Wednesday and it was totally accurate. My problem was assigned to a technician Tuesday but this anonymous person has taken no action and is unreachable by telephone either to me or the customer service reps. Until the last year I would have rated the knowledge, professionalism, and understanding of Ancestry Customer Service as outstanding. The phone was immediately answered by a real person who quickly resolved my problem. Now after 5 minutes of electronic voice, and 4 to 6 minute waiting for live assistance on third of reps may not speak English fluently , have an attitude of superiority, and are not knowledgeable. Ancestry is a service business the data they distribute are free open public records already paid for by taxpayers an it is collected largely by volunteer mormons and other persons interested in amateur history and, or genetics. I am now very frustrated especiall at the fact such personal data is being freely given to the land of hackers and Putin.
