The Good

• Simple to use
• No fees for writers
• Client options

We were impressed with the way Storyhunter makes things simple for its users. Storyhunter handles all finances and facilitates each transaction between clients and writers, making it a hassle-free experience for all involved. Because everything is done on their website, Storyhunter makes sure that each step is properly completed. While payment varies, writers are never charged fees on what they receive for their work, which means that everyone receives what they expect, without the facilitator taking a chunk away. On the other hand, clients (those who are purchasing writing) also have options for saving money. Storyhunter offers subscription fees to these content-seekers, allowing companies with a large need for content to gain consistent access to their writers. This benefits clients and helps Storyhunter to secure more work for their team of journalists.

The Bad

• Service fee

While Storyhunter offers a great service, there are some negative elements that all users should be aware of. For instance, Storyhunter's service fee is a bit steep compared to other freelance sites (but, then again, it is more particular in terms of quality). For writers, who don't have to pay the steeper service fee, the main concern would be the need to compete for work more than with other freelance services.

The Bottom Line

Storyhunter is a great freelance site with a niche and a quality that can help you add to your freelance portfolio quickly. Because of its niche, it can also provide freelancers with more interesting work. However, where quality is given, quality is required. Storyhunter is competitive and charges clients more, so be prepared to submit a great writing sample!
