The Good

• Security
• Experience
• Reviews
• Reliability

The following are additional factors that make Verisign a prudent choice:

• Security: This is one aspect that makes Verisign stand apart from the rest. Verisign use state-of-the-art security intelligence that gives information regarding malicious code, threats and vulnerabilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These security measures protect against the ever-increasing, highly damaging cyber attacks that can undermine an organization's financial standard and secure information.
• Experience: As mentioned, Verisign is one of the most seasoned DNS companies in the industry, with 20 years' experience. Additionally, the senior management team boasts eight leaders, each of whom has a wealth of expertise and decades of experience in the field.
• Consumer Reviews: A cursory search easily yields positive results of customers speaking glowingly of Verisign's services. Users consistently report the service is outstanding and the products exceed expectations. There is also a general feeling of trustworthiness for the company and a confidence in the company's stability and outlook.
• Reliability: How does 100 percent operational stability and accuracy sound? This is what Verisign can promise its users. The company is compliant with IPv6 and DNSSEC standards.

The Bad

• Pricing

Few companies are without faults and shortcomings. Though Verisign is one of the top DNS choices in terms of offerings and performance, there are some negative aspects of the company. Pricing is quite high, a fact that has drawn the ire and disappointment of customers. A secure site for one year will cost the customer $389; a two-year site costs $679; a three-year site is $975. These prices are at the high end of the industry. Customers are faced with the choice of selecting a competitor that can give comparable, close-to-as-good products for a lower price.

The Bottom Line

High-end costs aside, Verisign is certainly a wise choice for any prospective user. The company delivers accuracy, reliability and high-quality products. Generally, a customer will get what he or she pays for. With Verisign, you'll pay more, but the results will be more than satisfying and worth it.
