The car was an upgrade to what was offered by the big rental companies and $115 less. I was picked up and dropped off at the airport and I was in easy communication with the owner. I would use Truro again and have recommended it to my family and friends.

The program has worked very well for me, most recently renting a Toyota Prius out of Minneapolis Airport. The owners have been very co-operative and helpful with follow ups to confirm all is ok. The cost is definitely better than regular rentals and there is no hassle at the counters, etc.

Loved Turo and wish I had known about it sooner. I only stumbled across your company when I did a google search for jeep rentals in DC. I couldn't find what I needed through the regular rental services and your company popped up. Lucky me. I won't go back after using your service. Thank you!

I enjoyed turo because it is simple. if you have any issues they resolve them quick and simple. It feels safe and secure. They are nice to the renters and the ones renting out there cars. Overall I would use it again and refer to friends and family.

There are no guarantees of your experience with Turo. Your car may be amazing, or full of trash and wobbly at highway speed. Your host might even decide to cancel on you at the last minute and you'll be stuck struggling to find a reservation when it would have been easy days earlier. However, if you cancel last minute, they keep all your money. The only thing that makes these troubles tolerable is that if you are in a city that is well served, you can find a car close to where you are at a reasonable price instead of going to one of the major rental agencies farther away. Also, when you have issues, if you complain enough you can get a $30 travel credit. I think they are still working the kinks out at Turo.

Turo is a great concept. I don't think all of it's users understand the concept of a community sharing service however. Turo still has work to do with it's booking system as well. I've had several experiences where I booked a vehicle and it wasn't actually available and had to be refunded. All of the vehicles aren't clean when you pick them up either unlike a traditional rental car services.

Everything about my experience with TURO and Aldin S. (the care owner) was seamless and worry free. I couldn't have had a better experience and vehicle for my week long trip to the Bay area. Would definitely use TURO again and recommend it to anyone needing that extra special rental vehicle.

I've been thrilled with with every rental experience I've had with Turo! To heck with those big rental companies and all the hoops they make you jump through! Turo is a great service that's helped me about 10 times and I tell others about them often and I look forward to planning more trips in the future!

My experience with Turo was amazing and I wouldn't mind using them again. Everything was hassle free, straight forward, and easy to understand. From check-in to Check-out i've had clear communication from who I rented from and was also assisted with additional options from rentee that was easily billed later on.

We used Turo on a recent trip out of state and had a great experience. We were able to get a car that was great on gas and practical for less than we would've had to pay traditionally. The interaction was seamless from start to finish.

I love using Turo to get rental cars. You don’t have to go through all the hassle that you would with a normal rental car service as well there’s not a whole bunch of hidden fees. Very easy for a young driver (under the age of 25) to rent a vechile without a credit card or a $200 or more deposit.

Amazingly simple and reliable way to rent cars. No hassles of signing a number of documents or keeping a deposit. The cars displayed in the list are nicely ordered according to the relevance and I normally do not need to scroll a lot to find the perfect match.

I have to admit that the concept had me skeptical in the beginning, regular people renting their to other individuals? However, the trip was great, the app incredibly easy to use, and my host was exceptional! I can’t honestly imagine renting the traditional way ever again and I highly recommend giving Turo a shot!

The death of Enterprise, Hertz and all those other rental agencies is upon us. Turo is an amazing, affordable service with a great selection of cars. Absolutely genius, can't wait for my next rental. No need to buy a luxury car, I'll just rent a Benz from Turo every special occasion from now on.

I am really pleased with Turo except for one thing. .. Before my first trip, I went to the website to use the $25 code, but was unable to. I called customer service, told them the website would not allow me to use the promo, and asked if maybe I could use it now. I was told no, it had to be before the first trip. I'm a satisfied customer, but would have been an EXTREMELY satisfied customer if I were able to get the $25 credit.

Of the three times that I have rented a car using Turo, each experience was spectacular. I would never rent a car from another big company again, this is much more competitive, and in turn cheaper. I recommend this app to all of my friends that ever need to rent a car! (everyone!)

Easy peer-to-peer car rental/sharing service! Beats traditional car rentals and also the prices are very comparable! Schedule pickup/drop-offs are very flexible compared to traditional car rentals as well, so that is a definite plus.

Turo is the best...give your money, and not much of it...to a person like you who's willing to share. Buy more luxury with your money and find a car with some character. Do you want to drive a mundane rental? Or, something with a personality. I think Turo is the best and i will ALWAYS check the listings from Turo before I travel anywhere.

We rented our car in Phoenix, AZ. The pickup at the airport was quick and easy, as was the short drive to the office. The same was true on our return. Fast, friendly service. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating is because the car itself was a bit sluggish going through the hills between Phoenix and Flagstaff. The ease of rental and staff were excellent.

I like dealing with actual people rather than big businesses. Turo allows me to do just that. The convenience of having someone drop off the car to me & pick it up when I'm done is a game changer when visiting a city that I've never been to. I don't want to waste time getting to my journey. I want it to begin right away.

Very bad first impression! Booked a car, owner did not respond in a timely manner so we had to cancel. A refund was received but was over $70 short because of the difference in exchange rate. We paid with a Canadian card and the amount was in USD. However, no mention in the policies about not accounting for differences in exchange rates or else we could have acted differently (paid with a USD card). Customer service couldn't do anything, offered credit but we will not be using site again. They offered to talk to someone to put policy on site but didn't help our current situation. Very disappointed.

I am so happy that someone came up with this car rental idea. My first experience with Turo was to my trip to Las Vegas! It was my 21st birthday and I wanted to ride out in style. I was able to rent a 2018 range rover for 38$ a day! It has cars all the way from kia optimas to mercedes G wagon! I like this company so much because you literally get to choose the exact car that you want to rent, and the people who cars you are renting will meet you wherever you're at to ensure the best experience!

I will not recommend them. The vehicle was fine but my daughter gave her name and license as an additional driver. Turo allowed her info to be stolen or hacked. Someone rented a car in her name in another location and failed to return it. They suspended my daughter’s right to drive and failed to rectify the matter. Then my flight time was changed by the airline so I asked for a one hour extension of the drop off. The host initially said Turo advised him to grant us no extensions! He finally agreed to an hour but could not be at the airport. So we Ieft the car locked at the airport as he asked. I used his tiny car vacuum to remove sand my grandkids had brought into the car but the host still complained about sand in the car. This is despite Turo’s instructions that the guest need not worry about sand (from the beaches in Hawaii). So the owner’s complaint must have been prompted by Turo’s false concerns about my daughter. (She is a medical doctor.) After about four hours dealing with the false claim against my daughter and then getting my wife approved as a secondary driver, I asked for some compensation to recognize their responsibility for damaging our vacation time. They offered $25. The car rental was $3,300 for 10 days and I told them this was inadequate. Now they have de-platformed both my daughter and me! No matter. We will never use them again.

As a host (renter), renting out on Turo is profitable ONLY if you know the ropes - only rent out an old low value car. There are many hidden costs to renting out, especially the fact that Turo insurance comes with fine print - all plans except the '60' plan are only good as catastrophic insurance. They don't reimburse you if the guest dents your car or causes scratches smaller than 3 inches. A renter returned my car with 10-20 scratches (each about 0.5 inches), and Turo refused to compensate me for the significant cost to repair ($3000?) because each gash was less than 3 inches! Not worth the $100 I earned for the trip, not to mention the time spent cleaning the car, and inspecting it etc. So it's only worth listing an old $4,000 value car.

I had an issue telling the app I was returning a car early. After speaking to a rep on the phone who assured me I would get my 110$ refund, I found no such refund had arrived. After getting in touch with multiple chat reps, none of whom had any knowledge of what I had told another, they informed me that I was not going to get a refund because my host had denied that I returned early. When I left a review for my trip explaining all of this on the Turo site, it stayed up for about a day before the company deleted it. So beware if a driver has more "trips" than reviews, it could be that the company just deleted any bad ones to save face

Extremely poor customer experience from phone support and host. Hosts car was damaged prior to our rental date and they asked us to swap to another car. Ended up costing us over 60 dollars more which wasn’t disclosed up front. They did the run around of ‘the host needs to fix it call them’ and ‘turo needs to fix it call them’. After over three hours of trying we gave up but we’ll never rent from this company or host again-buyer beware. After over a year of successfully renting from them multiple times they didn’t even offer a good faith credit for a future rental. We’ll use Getaround from now on.

Feels like if I used turo frequently it would only be a matter of time before turo or a vehicle owner would hold me responsible for a vehicle issue or charge me more than the agreed upon amount. The experience is far from confidence inspiring. And the whole process of getting transport to and from a rental vehicle just adds hassle, time, and more costs to the whole process. I think Il probably stick to real car rentals and save myself the trouble before it happens.

I am a host on Turo with 2 cars and >20 trips for the past few years. It's clear in several ways that Turo only looks to minimize their costs and risk at the expensive of their guests and hosts, particularly the hosts. _____ They boast a few different insurance options for damage to the interior and exterior. I don't have experience with this. However, mechanical damage is much less secure._____ If the vehicle is a manual 'stick' transmission and a guest ruins a clutch (this happened), there are two options. All damage has to be declared within 24h of the trip. That means you have to take it to tow it to a mechanic and have them demonstrate that the last driver is at fault for the clutch failure, and then send this to Turo for them to approve the repair. They do *not* pay for the *whole* repair. They prorate their reimbursement based on miles on the clutch divided by 75 thousand miles, an arbitrary life they selected for the clutch. My car was about 35k so they would have paid half, at most, if I was lucky. _____ If the clutch is > 5 years old, they don't pay *nothing*. I cannot post the link, however it's at the top when googling 'Turo clutch policy'._____ I fortunately dealt with someone that was responsible and offered to pay for the job on their own. I expect most individuals to be less decent about accepting responsibility for their damages. _____ If other mechanical issues arise, there is little way to demonstrate that a guest directly caused the issue. Their insurance policies do not cover your mechanical issues. You will foot the bill. _____ Their insurance policies are shady. The host can select any level of coverage, let's say a 'standard' policy, pays a 25% fee, has a $500 deductible and otherwise no out of pocket for interior / exterior collision damage. The guest also selects their level of coverage, (premium, standard, basic, or none). They may select none, which Turo suggests they have their own insurance. They do not need to demonstrate proof that they have valid car insurance, let alone one that covers damages for driving another vehicle. Additionally, the cost is much more expensive when selecting any insurance for the guest. Turo collects takes anywhere from 20-35% from the host and charges up to double to the guest for taking the highest insurance._____ I spoke with several people at Turo about this confusion in how hosts can choose one level and guests choose another, or none. They had no way of explaining the mixed liability of damages. They had no explanation for how they would hold someone responsible for damages in the event of a collision and they don't actually have car insurance, and much less the subsequent burden to the host. _____ If you let your guest use your E-Zpass and submit the screenshot of your E-Zpass log as the proof to request reimbursement, they do not accept this. The proof needs to include the license plate, and not the E-Zpass tag which is what's listed on the E-Zpass log. You will get wronged out of toll reimbursements. _____ Many other reviews include instances where damages were assessed based on a much lower vehicle value than KBB or other fair pricing, and thus reimbursement was a fraction of what was owed to the owner. _____ There are several other reviews where drivers and hosts describe being wronged by Turo and losing significant amounts of money. _____ If you are a host, you are taking on significant risk lending your vehicle. They attempt to cover most bases, but there are plenty of ways things go wrong and shirk responsibility and costs. When they know their acting according to their policy, they make no exceptions nor apologies for shifting the costs onto the owner._____

I think that if the owner has a toll tag account and the driver takes the toll road that should be allocated in with the fee for the car. Other exotic car rental agencies do this and so should Turo. I also think that the tires should be inspected and they should be not heavily worn down when you’re renting an exotic vehicle. This definitely makes the handling of the car much rougher as well as dangerous.
