The Bad

Service coverage
Price range

Service Coverage

The main downside to Allied Insurance is that it isn't offered in every state, though it does cover 34/50. Those covered states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Price Range

Allied does not provide quote estimates online to prospective customers. You would have to look into pricing by contacting them directly and providing your personal information. However, they do have a 12-month rate lock option, as opposed to most company's 6-month rate.

The Bottom Line

While their website is not as easy to use as many competitors' websites, and they are not as direct with some of the more important information, they do have some positive things going for them. Allied Insurance offers many discounts and customers are able to pick and choose the service coverage that is right for them. This flexibility is a good selling point. Depending on the cost, Allied would likely be a good fit for many insurance shoppers.

Really good coverage on your policy. They can be a little overpriced, especially if you get in an accident. Customer service is pretty slow and the representatives aren't very patient when you want to clarify something about your policy.

I have nothing nice to say and my mother always said if you don't have anything nice to say be quiet so I am going to be quiet now. But they won't let me. So here goes, I have NEVER made an insurance claim. My rate went up every month. Customer service is manned by people who have had full frontal lobotomies. I heard EXACTLY the same speech word for word each time I called in. When i finally canceled the rep on the line told me she didn't give a "expletive" if i understood why my rate went up or not she was just there another 20 minutes to get her time in and get out of there.

We have our large truck insured through Allied. They provide great coverage at a fair price.
