McAfee is a great for my windows software and I have yet to get a virus on my computer thanks to them. My biggest complaint is that it always switches my default browser to yahoo rather than google which is very annoying.

The overall security is good. However, it constantly ask you to restart your computer. If you let it expire or come close to expiring, it will send you a stream of notifications until you solve the issue.

McAfee pops up every time I restart my laptop and slows the start time significantly. It frequently wants me to update or upgrade. I haven't had any issues with viruses but I have multiple sets of anti-virus software.

Had a free one month trial it went smoothly. Good antivirus protection but I think it is a little pricey compared to its competitors. I would suggest looking elsewhere before settling on McAfee.

I used McAffee AV on a number of computers. They always seemed to try to be selling me stuff within their own software, almost making it spamware within itself. I would not recommend this software as an AV solution.

I have a lenevo computer and it constantly bugs me about how “my virus protection has run out” and they won’t stop. They are sneaky and have it so you have to click an almost invisible x button cause if you press the ok button it will buy it for you.

doesn't protect your computer from crap. It's basically malware itself at this point. The program is huge, it takes up so much RAM and space that your computer is seriously better without it. Not to mention the spam notifications every 5 minutes if you don't renew right away. trash.

Annoying. Comes *installed* by default on many older computers, an installation which does nothing but beg you to pay for it. There are better & less obnoxious options. Have you heard the stories about the guy who created it?

I had it on one of my work laptops and it drove me nuts. It kept sending notifications for the most random updates and I could not get it to stop popping up notifications. It is supposed to prevent pop ups yet it was popping up more than anything else on my computer.

It slowed my computer down a ton, and I can't delete it from my computer. Also, every time it runs a scan, my computer freezes. There is free software that does the same thing, so I would not recommend this to a friend.
